There are plenty of "old people to Canada" who don't wear poppies. Why are they immune to the rant. Even worse for them because they grew up being taught the history and significance. If the rant was about "people" not wearing poppies, I don't think the same outrage would be there.

Don’t run the site to make money. I’m happy to break even. The ads do pay for hosting, software costs, prizes for Pick ‘Ems and Lock of the Week, and we’ve donated a pair of season tickets to allow those less fortunate to see Bomber games every year running the site. So if they are detracting from the enjoyment of the site, I’m generally against them.

Have looked into this a bit ... Google has implemented a new feature called auto ads, where it basically uses AI/ML to try and better serve ads and placement. I had turned it on a while back, but with restrictions. I found this email from yesterday: As someone who works in software, this is something that really pisses me off. You never unilaterally make changes to how a customers account works. Most people never read those emails, and I almost never log into the account to see notifications. These have been turned off. Let me know if you are still seeing them.

I’ll take a look into it tonight I haven’t changed any of the ad settings in a long time. I hate ads that are injected into threads or take away from the site. Seems like Google decided to get aggressive.

Feels a couple years early for the sellouts to be over. Minnesota sold out 409 straight when they came back before their streak was broken.

Some interesting developments over the last few days: https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/daryl-morey-s-tweet-hong-kong-shows-how-china-calling-ncna1063551 NBA Rockets GM Daryl Morey supports protests in Hong Kong on twitter. His tweet is soon deleted and the NBA and Rockets are suddenly offering all sorts of apologies and trying to distance themselves from the tweet as China sponsors pull out and preseason games are banned in China. The Rockets had previously been a huge money maker in China due to Chinese basketball star Yao Ming in the early 2000's. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/south-park-banned-chinese-internet-critical-episode-1245783 South Park is banned in China after they make fun of hollywood for cow towing to China demands. South Park tells China to **** off and makes fun of them again in a new episode. By the way, the last part of that tweet is in reference to Winnie the Pooh being banned in China because bloggers have been comparing the plump bear to China's President Xi Jinping. https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/8/20905181/blizzard-hearthstone-player-ban-marco-rubio-ron-wyden-china-hong-kong-protests-blitzchung Blizzard / World of Warcraft bans a player for a year and takes back a cash prize they had awarded him after he supports the Hong Kong protests in an interview. China is a large revenue stream for the company. For a long time, China has controlled what foreign companies can and can't do (censorship) within their borders and those companies agreed to get access to the large market. Now that those companies have a huge financial stake with a foothold in China, they are exercising their influence to control what these companies do outside of the Chinese borders. What's next? Is the cost of doing business in China really worth it? And why is a cartoon the only one willing to stand up to them......

Jets leave themselves with $7.7M in cap space this season. $7.6M of which was ear marked for Buff. Remember when they first came back and a lot of the talk was that they would be a budget team and never a cap team.
