Again, if the Bombers were to let Brown walk, the 2028 pick would not convey based on all previous reporting. In this unlikely situation, the total cost for the Bombers in the trade would be the 9 spots in the 2027 draft the Bombers would lose moving from their 2027 first round pick, to the 2nd round pick that came with Brown, which originally ended up in Ottawa due to moving up for Daniels

To be clear the 2028 pick in the Brown trade is conditional on him staying in Winnipeg. And the 2027 pick was a swap for the Bombers 2nd round pick. So if Brown doesn't stay in Winnipeg past this season for whatever reason, it will have cost the Bombers a whopping 9 spots to get him onto the roster. It would be ridiculous to trade him, but the Bombers paid very little for him... and even if he sticks around the club probably views it as a wash because they usually get a compensatory pick in the 2nd round for overplaying canadians.

This is an unfair comparison because the Tiger cats have faced the Bombers offense twice

It looks like 59 instances of someone passing for 300+ yards in 90 games last year versus 18 so far through 23 this year. So above last year's pace, but there hasn't been any in game injuries this year and no backups playing yet.

So Dinwiddie went with Maier over Brown due to concerns over arm strength? Is Maier known for his arm strength? Looking back at past stats packages he seems to be bottom of the league in depth yards per pass and when he is passing deep seems to be statistically pretty poor. Wouldn't those suggest that he doesn't have much of an arm?

You have this backwards don't you? Brady fumble was returned to like the 3 but the D held them to a field goal. For Daniels the D had just finished a goal line stand and Daniels gave them the ball back and they scored on a plunge the second time around.

It's wild here seeing people giving Dinwiddie the benefit of doubt here picking his guy over Brown but then in the Bombers regular season thread you'll see a dozen complaints about O'Shea managing the roster picking his guys.

Blaming the name change is just so hilariously lazy I'm not sure how to take it seriously. In the last 20 years and Elks have won 8 playoff games and only hosted 3. They had 22 straight home losses around the pandemic and have failed to account for changes in recreational spending due to all the geopolitical events that have happened the last 6 years. They've had years of uninspiring play and low community engagement from all reports. But no, a bunch of old white dudes got their feelings hurt by a name change so that's why attendance is so low. Just win baby and the fans will come back

These guys have been tackling all their lives but it's probably doesn't help that the Bombers have had a total of 4 practices, barely played their starters in preseason and now are going on a bye.

Kind of felt like a weird game all around. Collaros played really well but they couldn't get Brady going at all on the ground. Leaving 11 points in the red zone was effectively the difference in the game. Those two long pauses in the first half (Peters going down, who sounds like he is doing alright, and the Incomplete, Challenge, Challenge sequence) seemed to suck the energy out of the offense. On defense it never felt like they could actually stop anything. It felt like Roundtree was getting them 2nd and medium consistently and then Bo would find someone underneath for the first down. Those two long Wheatfall receptions seemed like they were pretty well defended Moxey just couldn't get a hand in there. I'm disappointed that the West side upper deck seemed to run out of popcorn by the third quarter.

Woodbey going down non-contact and grabbing his lower leg and not being ruled out after 2 practices is pretty wild. Thought for sure he blew out his Achilles

Woodbey listed as having a Calf injury on the report. Wonder if that means he didn't damage his Achilles and it might not be as serious.

Geez I'm watching the Recap highlights package and it might be a double whammy for Woodbey. Fairly significant injury and that RTP he took in the 1st half was a Grade 2 so he's probably gonna end up lighter in the pocketbook

I think the 3down recap mentioned Zach was pressured on 5 of 8 of his pass attempts in the first half. Definitely looked a lot more comfortable out there in the second.

Weird game for the defense. Only 6 completions through the first half, and then 4 completions allowed until the 3 minute warning where they gave up 7 on that last drive. Seemed like the secondary was just playing guys in front of them and Adams was fitting them into those windows. The Bombers were about 2 inches away from the Stamps kicking out of their end zone but alas. Also got completely run over in the 1st half and then pretty much locked up Mills in the second. Strange seeing the line get pressure, 4 sacks in week 1 is a sixth of the way to last seasons total. And Collaros was more successful throwing the deep ball this game than he was last year... 3/6 on 20+ Depth yards... although none of those completions were much more than that. All 3 incompletions to Pokey. He was about 40% last year with 7 picks

I'm not sure what happened but it felt like the first half to the 3 minute warning just flew by. And then the rest of the game just crawled.
