Might be early Saturday Morning football by the time this one kicks off

I figured it was the 'injury prone' designation we put on Janarion Grant that made it so we didn't resign him... which was entirely Buck Pierces fault because you could, you know, not run your 170 lbs soaking wet All-CFL returner up the middle for 2 yards and just have him return kicks like a normal coach.

The defense isn't going to have to do much in the second half if they give up 22 points in the first half and the offense can't move the ball. The PxP has Vernon Adams completing 4 short passes / 5 in the second half, but when you are up by 20 why would you push the defense. Point differential is unlikely to come into effect, keep everything nice and easy... Big Play VA is notorious for working both ways. This is why you can't stat sheet watch.... Bombers put up 400 yards of net offense, but that was mostly empty calories where they couldn't finish drives or were playing against a soft Calgary defense that was rushing 3 and was keeping everything ahead of them... 55 pass attempts for only 316 yards is nuts. They only gave up 300 yards of net offense... but the Stamps had a 20 point lead starting at the halfway point of the 2nd quarter and they adjusted their offense accordingly.

This is a slippery slope. Stamps attempted 18 passes all game. They got up big and then played not to lose. The way the DLine was getting dog walked and the DBs were getting outworked by the receivers in the first half, had the offense had the juice to turn it into a shootout Adams likely would have ended up with 400 yards.

Pretty sure Lawler is making $100k more than Schoen this year

With Mitchell stuck on the 1 Game IR behind Sterns I wonder if the Elks get desperate at some point and try to get him back as someone with some more familiarity with Ford.

Football as a whole because there is pretty much 12 players on each team doing their own thing for 7 seconds at a time, and at any point any of those 24 can be doing something infraction worthy because almost everyone one is doing something that contributes to one thing specifically makes it really tedious to replay and challenge things... in that it is pretty unique compared to something like Hockey or even Soccer which has a similar amount of players on the field. Football kind of makes it harder on itself because I don't think any one can tell you everything that can go into making a completed catch sometimes... it feels like the meme for a balk sometimes. You have to make a football move... it can't touch the ground, unless you have control of it I guess? You have to survive contact with the ground... most of the time. I think that Refs are acting to the best of their abilities in the best interest of the game. If there is something that can be seen at full speed on a camera angle, for sure overturn it. When you start zooming in, and slowing down and dissecting frames like it is the Zapruder film is where things start to fall apart for me.

This is pretty much Riderfans during any Bomber game

Everyone is going to have a real good time in 15 years when Jake Thomas' 220 games played get him onto the Ring of Honour
-
As long as I can remember, if O'Shea feels there is any advantage to taking the wind he will take it given the chance. The fact that almost all the points in the game were scored going to the south end zone makes me think there was some advantage there.

They showed a replay in the stadium where the camera must have been lying on the turf that showed it pretty clearly being trapped. Even after that lengthy delay after they showed that replay I don't even think the crowd was that into the booing
-
I hope Hogan and the offense can go 3 for 3 on opening drives. Elks aren't going to have much fun if they are playing from behind all game.
-
In Harris' defense... that was kind of a greasy play. Tensions were high after the Duncan-Busby chop block that took out George with a gnarly knee injury (which for some reason is only a 10 yard penalty) and you would be hard pressed to convince me that the late hit on Harris wasn't retaliatory on the very next play
-
Looks like about 350 tickets available on Ticketmaster

If Harris plays having your 3 most visible players (Milligan, Ouellette and Harris) get concussions and play the next week almost seems to be verging on Coaching/Training Staff malpractice.
-
Lots of options. Eli as you said. Last season there was a game where they had to trot Streveler out there as a receiver. They've had packages in the past that gets Willie out there as a TE. The possibilities are limitless!
-
He's 36 years old which would put him in probably the top 10 oldest players in the CFL... of those the only ones who aren't Kickers or QBs are Big Stan and Micah Johnson in SSK. He is also coming off knee surgery last year, and could barely play in the 2023 Grey Cup. Father time is undefeated.

Beard on the 6-Game IL for the Elks. Kolankowski might be the acclaimed All-CFL West Division Centre at this pace.

Non Bomber GDT's-Sask at Toronto/ Ottawa at Calgary

Dinwiddie not thrilled with the Argos performance https://www.argonauts.ca/2025/06/20/ryan-dinwiddie-post-game-june-20-2025/ -
PFF has Peterson marked down for 88 yards after contact https://www.cfl.ca/2025/06/16/5-pff-stats-that-stand-out-from-week-2/ Who knows how they define contact though

Lions depth chart shows Rourke as 3rd QB with GTD designation. Surely they wouldn't think about throwing an injured Rourke up against a Bombers team that has always had his number after a week of barely practicing but who knows
-
YES Grant returns a TD, Thomas takes a RTP and the Argos get a field goal. Collaros hands it off to Brady for 13 yards and then inexplicably Prukop comes in and yeets it into double coverage... well kind of double coverage, for some reason there were two Bombers within 3 yards of each other 40 yards downfield so there were two defenders there also.
-
Oops all linebackers. Its like me playing a pick up game in NFL Street
-
Even if the Bombers were given a chance to sign him... half a mil on one RB and one CB isn't going to give you much flexibility in overall roster construction. I guess they could have went the Lions route and loaded them up with that sweet sweet marketing money.
