  1. In these situations he likes to say something to the effect of "they learn all the positions". Some guys are a little more revealing, like Brian Cole talking about moving to DB and backing up Redha.
  2. I've been trying to figure out the snaps where it looks like Kramdi is playing safety. I think it's actually Nichols who they're moving to safety. It's during the skeleton period so it's very tough to tell. The reps in question come when put Tyrique McGhee in at the boundary corner and move Parker into half.
  3. Here's what I noted on day 1: Bryant-Dobson-Kolankowski-Eli/Wallace(for Neufeld)-Lofton Lawler-Schoen-Murphy(for Demski)-Alston-Wolitarsky Augustine (for Oliveira) Collaros Jefferson-Thomas-Fox-Haba Wilson-Bighill Parker-Nichols-Nick Hallett (for BA)-Holm-Ford-Kramdi Tyrique McGhee appears right in the mix as well. And it felt like a lot of Lawson with Thomas in the early portion.
  4. The way it's laid out in the CBA says: For 2024 the "Salary Expenditure Cap" is $5,525,000. Then the "Non-Football Related Services minimum additional amount" is $110,000 for a "Total Salary Expenditure Cap" of $5,635,000. $110K is the number for this year and is the minimum per year going forward if league revenue doesn't increase (the table in Article 30 lays out the cap through 2028 season). If league revenue does increase, the amount available to players for promotion/outreach would also increase. To me it reads like 'You have to pay your players exactly $110k on promotion and outreach and you need to be able to prove guys are working for it.'
  5. Got curious about the Brady thing...this from the CBA (Section 30.03 viii B): "In 2023, each Club will include in the Salary Expenditure Cap an additional $60,000 in respect of Non-Football Related Services, such as community appearances, outreach, and promotion. Starting in 2024 and continuing for every year of the collective agreement, each Club will include in the Salary Expenditure Cap an additional $110,000 in respect of those Non-Football Related Services. These special amounts will be the mandatory minimum amount for each Club and will be subject to strict audit rules. The Clubs will have sole discretion on which players shall received these payments and the amounts to each player, but in no case should these amounts be less than $60,000 per Club in 2023 or less than $110,000 per Club, per year thereafter. These amounts will be included in a player’s SPC and noted accordingly."
  6. Voting happens in 3 phases (team, division, league). The final one had a deadline of kickoff of the Eastern Semi-final. So there's zero chance to consider anything that happens in the playoffs.
  7. Hopefully Willie has someone holding it for me 🤣
  8. From what I saw Tuesday/Wednesday they had taken Jackson off his spot on punt team. Made me think they were preparing in case they had to carry an extra American receiver (if there was doubt that Demski/Bailey would be able to finish the game).
  9. Just a guess: more practice for the coverage team? Based on what others have said about the wind, that shouldn't have been worth giving up the ball for.
  10. I'm guessing since they're taking a receiver off (McCrae), they want another back on.
  11. Clements for McCrae Murphy for Burtenshaw Haba to PR
  12. On the No Yards decline, the decision was to take the ball at the 25 and no point or give the point and take it at the 40. 15 yards difference.
  13. Castillo Castillo is #5 at +4.5 points to expected. Liegghio is #9 at -0.9 points to expected. Three missed converts and his average attempt for 29 yards is dragging him down.
  14. They were working on the NFL-style tap out in practice early in the week. I like it *if* you save it from going into the end zone. Giving it to them at the 17 (ie. touch it at the 2 and give the 15-yard No Yards) is better than a single point + possession at the 40.
  15. There had to be at least 3 times last night where McCrae bobbled to had to double catch the ball. It didn't mean anything for this game, but that's not good.
  16. Just on this point...Darby is dressed. I'd guess he's the DB to fill in if one of the Americans gets hurt. So 9 players for the 6 DB spots. I think I saw in this thread the suggested that they DNA Darby--that would make perfect sense. It would be a bit of protection for a Kramdi injury
  17. 17 sacks on pass plays, 1 on a run this year. 8.0% of dropbacks. For Collaros 28 sacks on passing plays last year, 1 on a running play (CFL quirk). The other Bombers QBs were sacked 5 times. 5.6% of dropbacks in 2022, 8.0% of dropbacks in 2023...a substantial increase. I haven't caught up charting pressures but Zach is under pressure a little less than last season's 28% of dropbacks.
  18. Confirmed. If I hit two seconds, I’d be surprised. This year they upped the speed from “infant” to “toddler” which could explain how bad I was. Amazingly the 5 hot dogs didn’t affect my performance at all.
  19. Bombers announce they're adding Miles Fox to the roster for tonight. To me that's gotta mean Oliveira is playing.
  20. Which is what makes me wonder if they can add Miles Fox at game time. He was able to bump out to end a couple of times vs Sask...valuable snaps to rest for Jefferson/Haba.
  21. My guess is that if Brady can't play, they'll put McCrae on, leave Brady on and have a 45-man roster. Saves them a bit on the salary cap, though it would have them essentially playing with a 44-man roster. What we were wondering about is if Brady can play are they allowed to add Fox back in and say "that's part of our game-time decision"?
  22. The end zone cam (I don't remember it on the broadcast, but we were live at the same time) shows clearly the Briggs block and the side official throwing the flag right at it. When I think of what it would've looked like from field level at 100 miles an hour, it probably did look like it was from the back. What's the side and what's the back...there's a fine margin there.
  23. I got a look at the end zone camera of the Grant return this morning. The flag was thrown on Jesse Briggs' block (not sure how it became #10 when announced). I can see why the official threw the flag at the time. Obviously very pleased that they overturned the call.
