  1. Worse than that (to continue your joke)... season garbage time AND the race end was kind of "race garbage time" with the Ferrari taking each other out (hahaha) and Lewis/Albon essentially taking each other out and Bottas blowing up. It's kind of like if this weekend Simoni/Tuggle crash into each other and both get injured, and Evans/Banks come down with malaria, and Addison gets ejected for rough play. However, in both the F1 case and the HAM dream above, I will/would take it! As Milt loves to say: A win's a win.
  2. Ah, so they kept the old board software but moved it to a new install of an O/S (probably Linux based on the path separators) with a more-modern version of PHP (which now not only deprecates, but fatals on the outdated magic_quotes stuff). If you guys say it's faster, they probably built a new box too with much faster guts. Love it! Ahhh.... back to normal life now. However, I very much appreciate having a second outlet for Bomber talk, so I'll keep lurking around MBB here. (Great... just doubled my daily Bomber time allotment.) Much thanks to all who run this place!
  3. Air Canada and/or WestJet seem to have added more Saturday and Monday flights, or they opened some more seats. Just snagged one airline there and the other back. Even was able to book one through airmiles for "free"! For some reason airmiles never shows all the flights, just some. Worth a shot though if you have miles piled up like I do. All in all quite reasonably priced for buying/flying same-week. Those who were discouraged looking yesterday should look again today. I was just about to do the driving thing, but flying saves me a ton of time and makes the wife happier and didn't break the bank. Hotels seem to be opening up a bit too! Looks like all the people who wanted to cancel are getting it done. Managed to get my previous-sold-out favorite nearby hotel with airmiles too, woohoo! Now... to get a deal on some tickets for me & my son... Oh ya, and I think Bombers are a sure thing to win the GC because my long-suffering F1 team, McLaren, just got their first podium in over 5 years on Sunday! My football team wins WSF and WF, and my F1 team does something other than sucking, that's my lucky month!! I'm going to top it all off with a GC win... it's fate!
  4. OK, got the wife's nod (not a happy one) that I can go to the cup! Stipulation is I have to take my 6y.o. son AND I have to be back before our 10 year wedding anniversary day is over... what an idiot I was getting married around grey cup dates! Wasn't thinking at all. Not sure if doing the drive or fly. Like everyone else, seeing obscene flight prices with very few good dates/times that work for me anyhow. I'll figure something out. My big question is on tickets: I'm one to buy them last second before I leave the hotel on stubhub to snag a deal, or at worst try to find scalpers at the stadium. Has anyone tracked stubhub on grey cup days before to see how it behaves? The very last thing I want is to get there and the ticketmasters have been all given away to the military and stubhub is sold out or $1k a ticket. Does anyone know when they do the final free giveaway to claim "sold out"? Not many tickets left on TM as it is. Does anyone who lives in CGY have any info on where to find the scalpers at McMahon and whether it's a "thing" there? Also, on Monday stubhub had a ton of "UPS delievered" tickets, some at good prices, but they all disappeared Tuesday. So I guess after physical delivery is impossible due to time constraints all those tickets just drop off the face of the earth? No way for those physical holders to electronic-alize their tickets into "mobile transfer" ones? If any of you are in CGY and knows someone local stuck with 2 physical tickets and wants to sell them cheap, let me know in PM asap. Need something between the 20's, don't care how high up. Need 'em cheap and if I fly I'll need downtown hotel dropoff. P.S. So freakin' proud of my Bombers!! Going absolutely mental here.
  5. The 503 and drilling down to the link they provide show that they've switched to a new platform/software and are working on getting the site back up. What we're seeing there is the site is up for admins, just not for us plebes. Hopefully they will have it done in time for GC day. So kiss the old site/interface goodbye. We'll never see it again. At least the new software should solve the unicode/apple apostrophe-to-? problem. I sure hope they found a way to import the old messages, but I wouldn't bet money on it. Lots of work that probably no one wants to do. I would bet they'll make everyone sign up again too. They probably had a catastrophic loss (HDD failure with no RAID and no backup), that's my guess. Just a reminder that if you hit the old site via a bookmark, make sure you try just forums.bluebombers.com without any path part because when the site comes back up, the old paths probably won't go anywhere.
  6. Tecno Prediction: Fajito won't start (or it's a "token" start and quickly benched). Watch the Fajito Nov17 interview on the SSK site. 1:41 when asked point blank if he'll be the starter, he nervously laughs and squints. He then says "I believe so" then immediately scratches his arm. That's his tell. He's lying. He didn't scratch his arm there at all the entire rest of the long interview. Just my opinion, of course. I previously said the injury was a ruse, I'm changing that to either he's not starting (as per above) or he's 100% ok. The possibility of him (meaningfully) starting and being like 75% is impossible, IMHO. Again, not that it matters, as we are the (much) better team and will win if we play normal Bomber ball. I'm not even sure I have a preference with Fajito being in or out. If he's in, we know exactly what he's capable of, and we can stop his 3-trick pony show. If he's out, SSK doesn't get all those easy timing throws, but (on the downside) an unknown QB can bring surprises.
  7. I'll bite. You failed to specify when this decision is supposed to be made. Of course in hindsight now that the season is over Group A is weakest. However, look at everyone's standings predictions on the other forum in the pre-season. Almost everyone had EDM and BC high up. Most had SSK and MTL extremely low. OTT was a toss-up, I pegged them as 2nd in the E, many thought they'd be crap with MTL. I knew BC would be the sewer, but most people had them middle-of-the-pack or better. As the other guy said, OTT had just beaten the invincible CGY when we faced them. That made them top of the E power rankings. A team that thinks they are good (or alternately doesn't know they are bad) are still very dangerous. They still have this magic thing called morale. When we played OTT, BC and EDM they all still thought they were great. Well, BC was getting a clue, but it hadn't sunk in yet. And we played EDM with T.Harris, and as we've seen in the playoffs, T.Harris EDM is actually quite dangerous. To sum, ask the question in week 2 and I'd say it's a wash as I'd (me personally) have said EDM/OTT good, CGY/HAM good. That's 2 good teams in each group. Go back and look at your pre-season picks and I bet your picture wouldn't be as clear either.
  8. To jump back a bit, I'm with the people who think Fajito & co are faking it. He's probably perfectly healthy. Just think of it, he magically starts on Sunday and looks perfect (maybe faking a "slow" start with short passes). Then he rips open a few spectacular 25 yard runs because our guys think no way is he running injured. Crowd goes wild. If they win then they have a great storyline even when HAM smokes them. If they lose, well Cody "was brave but was too injured". It's the perfect setup for the org and for their fans and for the CFL. So if Fajito has no issues on Sunday, assume it was all fake. Check out the Fajito video on the Regina news which shows him throwing about 7 times. Note in his warmup when he's bending over he winces when getting back up, but he looks straight at the camera after, like "make sure the cameras caught that!". Fakery. If it was the other way around he'd try not to wince, or look for a camera before doing the move and then not do it at all. SSK was the luckiest team all year: fluke they finished 1st. They can possibly win if they're super lucky again. WPG just needs to play Bomber ball to win. WPG is far and away the better team. Football gods smiled on us in CGY. All we need is them to be neutral to Bomber-positive to win. And a ref that calls holding (down to just Proulx and Kroeker now). The last 3 years we were the team that needed luck to win a playoff. This year we are the team that just needs to play clean football. I'll take that any day! I hope the WFC is ignoring the whole Fajito "is he / isn't he" thing as it's a big distraction and really irrelevant. Plan to beat Fajito and you can beat any of the non-Fajitos they may start instead.
  9. You must have a different play in mind than I do. I'm talking about 4Q1:05, and I've rewatched it 10 times in slow-mo and Yoshi isn't anywhere near there, and that's right when AH first notices something's wrong. AH is on the bottom of the screen sealing the left line edge doing a funny straddle. No one touches his legs/feet the whole play. I checked the play before that and he's totally fine. So something happened on that play. I take solace in the other guy here saying AH is fine on Monday/Tuesday. It must have just been a cramp. But it looked scary because AH has a "oh crap" reaction to it.
  10. Hopefully. It could have just been a cramp from cooling down and his awkward stance and he just didn't want to leave the field or hold up the win. If it's something else starting with an H and ending with a G I'll be cursing the football gods that smiled so much on us that game.
  11. I rewatched the game while syncing with the CJOB broadcast and noticed on the very last non-victory snap Bob said AH33 looked injured after. He said someone stepped on his foot. I hadn't noticed before, but Bob is right about some sort of injury, but no one stepped on his foot. It looks like a non-contact injury and it looks like a knee or lower leg thing. Of course, it could have been some contact in a previous play. After that play Harris is barely able to walk, hobbling to his next position for the V-formation. I really hope it's just a minor nothing owie. I hoped it just looked worse than it was. Very odd it was on the last "real" play.
  12. Hey all! Just. Beat. Calgary. We did it! The hard game is over. We achieve what we've failed to do since 2011: beat CGY in the playoffs. If we clobber SSK in the WDF (my prediction) then the guys may have all the momentum and morale that even HAM might not be able to stop them! Kudos to our D, especially the (much maligned) DBs and DL. They were the players of the game, not the QBs. Enjoy the moment, everyone!
