if we win 2 more games...pretty much is a given we can get the crossover this year i think...though that being said...we are 2 points out of second right now...
Two more games would mean a 7 - 11 record? Yikes.

Even with another loss, the Bombers have a decent grip on the crossover playoff position. However, they need to start winning some games. 😉 I don't think they can make the playoffs without any additional wins this season. Crossover Standings: https://www.cfl.ca/standings/#crossover
Week 13: Who we need to lose to preserve the Bomber's crossover position since we can't count on them beating the Riders.
RedBlacks at Lions (GO RedBlacks)
Tiger-Cats at Argos (GO Ti-Cats)
Thank God the Alouettes have the week off. 😉

Stop asking us embarrassing questions that make us uncomfortable and weepy.
Wait...do you live down here in New Mexico? 😉 That is our line down here...ha ha
The Riders? Really? I had to pull out one of the airline barf bags I stole on my last flight when time ran off the clock. And I was listening to the game online. I have no clue what would have happened if I was watching the game.
What is happening? Even Montreal beat the East leading Redblacks and our team is struggling to hold onto the crossover position. We want to go that route through Hamilton and Ottawa....IF WE CAN WIN another game. 😉
Okay, back to my Labor...Labour Day off down here.
A video I did for my YouTube channel for my small town of Belen, New Mexico. Enjoy.

For the first time ever, Bob and Doug McKenzie have awarded this week's Hoser Award before this week's games were even over. Why? Our Bombers lost yet again and this time to the Riders. 😉 I know, take off, eh!
Seriously, I can't believe the turn our team has taken. I'm beginning to wonder if the Montreal Alouettes are headed to the Grey Cup instead of our Bombers. And that is pretty sad. What is going on up in Winnipeg? Is there anyone up North who can offer this fan in New Mexico U.S.A. some hope for the season? 😉 Is there some Canadian voodoo dance I can do down here along the banks of the Rio Grande that might help?
I'm not watching the NFL so, paying attention to the UNM Lobos for College Football or the local Belen Eagles High School team is all I've got when the Bomber's season ends. By the way, both teams WON this weekend.

Eh? (does that qualify?)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HoserI think HOSER refers to how the Bombers are performing right now.
However, I think I see a better strategy than trying to get through the Eskimos or Riders then onto the Stamps then the Grey Cup. If they crossover, I feel they have a great shot at knocking out the Ti-Cats. Then yes, the Redblacks are a major hurdle but, the last one to the Grey Cup. Once in that game, anything can happen to the Stamps, right?
By the way, after all of the belly aching and stomping of feet, Trump has solidified a deal with Mexico. I hear Canada is at the table. Proving anything can happen. 😉 If the Bombers win it all this year, I will send a personal message to Trump asking that they are invited to the White House instead of the Super Bowl winner. (HA HA) -
From the movie the Big Lebowski - "Oh, man - my thinking about this case had become very uptight!"
I think I now understand the Bomber's strategy - win enough games to be the crossover team in the playoffs. Take on the Ti-Cats in the first round. I think the Bomber's would have at least a 50-50 chance of beating them. Then go up against the RedBlacks in the next round. If luck is on their side, they win and go to the Grey Cup thus avoiding having to play Edmonton or Saska...how ever you spell it. Maybe that is a better strategy.
You know, in the playoffs even the worst team can have a good day and win games and possibly championships.
GO crossover Bombers!!!!

I'm not sure that 9&9 is a season that will save the jobs of some Bomber coaches. I sure as heck would not say that is a successful season, particularly when the same problems that have bedeviled the team for years hamstrung the team again.
I am definitely for the saving of jobs of the Bomber's coaches.
I just think this team needs a better record. Well, as they say south of the border, it is what it is. 😉 GO Tiger-Cats and Lions this weekend, along with our Bombers. I am just thinking of the Bomber's potential for placement in the upcoming playoffs. -

Not quite as good as "they are who we thought they were" , but still one of my all time favourite coach quotes.
AMEN. I looked that up and almost posted it. The playoffs video just sounded right for this post. But, Dennis Green's (right?) rant was THE best ever. If the Bombers lose to the Stamps, maybe that should be posted???

You have to be a Riders fan...
Three games against the Riders is probably 2-1 for bombers...
Bombers won't lose to Montreal so that's 3-1
Then Esks (x2), Calgary and RBs - let's say 2-2 or even 1-3... still end up 9-9 and that's playoffs
A Riders fan? That is your excuse. 9-9 is good? You think THIS team at 9-9 would be in good shape?
Thanks for the life lesson as this is my first year following the CFL and the Bombers. 😉 -

Despite the Stamps' implosion last game, the Bombers are going to have their hands full with them. I don't know if, given the current state of affairs in Bomberland, a win is likely, but they have to show they can compete. Another blowout loss would make the locals here very unhappy.
I wouldn't call it "competing" without a win over the Stamps. Sitting at 5-5 (if the Bomber lose) with the following teams on the schedule - Riders (back to back), Montreal, Eskimos, RedBlacks, Riders, Stamps and finally the Eskimos again, a disaster is brewing. A disaster to me is missing the playoffs and joining the Alouettes and Lions on the couch watching the playoffs.
I can hear Jim Mora describing the Bombers right now in their current state and it's scary. -
I don't know if I agree. With four losses half way through the season, with the Stampeders up next, the Bombers are in a bad position. There has to be a major change. A victory over Calgary this weekend would signal that change. If it doesn't happen .....
-
I was only able to listen to the game on CJOB last night from New Mexico but, it was still very painful. And we have the Stampeders next week? Yikes!
Thinking about the worst case scenario next week, if the Bombers end up 5 - 5, what are your thoughts about the remaining games, chances of making it in the playoffs and how far our team can go this year?

Yup. Stealing gasoline from another vehicle by using a hose to siphon is the correct definition.
Stealing? Borrowing with the intention of paying it back later on. Wouldn't you say that is the politically correct definition? (ha ha)

I took that Ancestry.com DNA test last year. I can play all sorts of race cards.
I have the White European spectrum, Southern European, Middle Eastern, North African, Russian. Almost everything except Asian. And of course, who doesn't have any Irish in them.
I have several "cards" I can play when I want to deflect attention my responsibility for my situation. Booo....Hooo. I think you are really uncovering that I am not a Millennial. That is what you are picking up on. (ha ha)

This from a white Canadian?
You want to talk about oppression.... look at what CFL players are paid to endure the same brain damaging injuries compared their NFL cousins? Now, that is oppression eh?
(I thought I had the corner on "hoser" in this group but, I definitely have some challengers....ha ha) -

You should know that the CFL is totally chill about protests that take place during the nation anthem.
I suspect that a lot of American-born CFL players hold the same beliefs as NFL players -- when the police brutality protests were at their height last fall, there were a number of news articles asking the opinion of CFL players and my memory is that they were pretty sympathetic to the protesters...
Well I don't support the protests. I have friends in law enforcement and I know the real story. The protests are just a side show and ridiculous. They are losing fans and frankly the quality of play has dropped significantly anyway. I'm fine with leaving it behind for good. But, that's me.

I am Canadian born and live in Seattle now, but my wife is from southern Colorado and I have fallen in with a bunch of folks who've moved up here from ABQ so I've eaten a lot of green chiles and hooo boy nothing I ever ate in Canada prepared me for how goddamn delicious they are.
You want some good Southwest / Canadian fusion eating, try green chile poutine -- just use a green chile burrito sauce instead of brown gravy.
GREAT to hear from you. Yep, I get the cravings for green chile about every 2 to 3 days. We pick up the chopped (and those wonderful flour tortillas) from the Golden Pride restaurant. Hey, I love Seattle as well. I had some business trips up there when I lived in the SF Bay Area. Southern Colorado is beautiful. You could give me a cabin the Conejos River Valley and I would take it in a heart beat. Thanks for the message.

Man I don’t understand some people. Insecurity causes anger.
Why do you come throwing daggers like that. It’s a friggen football game which is strictly entertainment. it’s suppose to be fun. You sound like blue and gold are your gang colours. Listen up Im here to talk football nothing else . I’m not here being nicety nice as you put it. Im impressed with the Bombers so far this year. But like anything else it can change
Why is it so hard for people to stay on topic.
I am the latest American "hoser" (I wear that term with pride on this forum ... ha ha) to convert from the NFL to the CFL (and become a Bombers fan) and I am confused by your post.
What is going on here? (ha ha) Can a Bomber fan explain it to me.....in terms an American would understand? If you were south of the border it would be like having a Whiner fan compliment the Raiders. Or a Deadskins fans complimenting the Cowboys. (ha ha) Have I entered a parallel universe of niceness or logged into the wrong forum? (ha ha)

A few years ago the slogan for the league was "No lead is safe", which is very true in the CFL... the number of games that go right down to the wire is surprisingly high, even when it looks like one team is running away with it.
I was having New England Patriot anxiety. The kind you get when you hate that darn team and no team seems to be able to hold a lead against them.....EXCEPT for the Eagles who almost blew it.

Welcome aboard! Just curious of the reason your following the Big Blue? 🙂
I am tired of the MFL......used to be the NFL. You know, the Millennial Football League with overpaid American children who are throwing temper tantrums and using the game to advance their insane political views not to play the actual game of football?
I have known about the Bombers for a while and decided to bite the bullet and start watching. The team, the history, the fans.... this team fits me perfectly. I am done with American sports and will only be following the CFL.
As I am learning (ha ha) when you find the right group of hosers that fits you perfectly, you know you're home. I am home. I hope to come up North one day and see a game in person. I am not sure if it is going to be this year. I would LOVE to come up for the Grey Cup since the Bombers will be playing in it this year, right?

Agreed that winning is everything.
I hear you on the chicken and egg situation. I am hoping the Bombers get some fire under their butts and go into the playoffs (no matter what position - crossover or not) strong. I would rather have the Bombers NOT go into the playoffs as a weak team than watch them get in and get blown out in the first round.
Either way...GO BOMBERS this weekend!
