  1. Traded to the Marlins.
  2. Why am I arguing this with you? How stupid is this?? I said the name offended some people a decade ago & perhaps they'll go after the Jets name & logo at some point in the future. You've been upset with me for 2 days now like somehow I'm leading the charge. Well, I'm not & I truly don't care if your sensibilities are upset. I'm done. Go find someone else to bother. There'll be no further response from me.
  3. Want my answer?? I just couldn't resist...🤣
  4. As is typical of Trudeau this will go on forever.
  5. So, nearly 18 months to wait for a 10-15 episode season? They lost me as a fan. Won't be watching.
  6. If the played & the Bombers won the Grey Cup, they can put a thousand asterisks around it & I wouldn't care as we'd still be champs.
  7. Rider fans are just wishing the crossbar had better hands.
  8. Okay, you have your opinion & I have mine. Better hope you're right.
  9. What I said was half serious. But this is for you from 2011... https://rabble.ca/news/2011/07/save-our-jets-new-winnipeg-jets-logo-sacrifices-nostalgia-militarism https://www.straight.com/news/derrick-okeefe-new-winnipeg-jets-logo-another-sign-creeping-militarism-under-stephen-harper There were some people who objected to the name & logo 9 years ago & it made the news briefly back then. But 2011 was a different world than today with the Redskins & Eskimos names being changed, BLM & demonstrations in the US & Canada. Had the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg in 2020 & renamed the team the Jets with a military logo as well as publicly admitting the logo was a tribute to the Canadian military, there might have been some serious pushback. Or Mark Chipman might have decided in 2020 that it's not worth the hassle & nickname the team the Manitoba Moose. So, don't think that at some point, that people won't come after the name or the logo. I think it's inevitable.
  10. What did I miss? Can you explain what you're talking about so I'll know.
  11. They weren't designed for reuse & you can tell by the wording of that article that reusing them isn't a good idea. My wife has been an RN for 35 years & I'll go by her word as she is has been trained & is an expert on masks as that is her job.
  12. I'm selfish. Glad he signed with Arizona but damn, would I like the guy back. I'm also sure the Cardinals have more than 3 qbs in camp.
  13. Nope there was bitching in 2011 from the Cancel Culture about the Jets logo & name honouring the military. But the movement was small. Today, they could pressure the team to change the name as no doubt some snowflakes will find it offensive. The old Jets had nothing to do with the military. Ben Hatskin was friends with AFL New York Jets owner Sonny Werblin & liked the name so he chose it first for his WCHL junior team & then for his WHA team.
  14. That's Trump.
  15. That's not what she told me as I asked. Even the N95's. They're all one time only masks. As an RN since 1985 she is horrified seeing the way people treat masks. Like always fidgeting with them. Or pulled halfway down their face... so their nose is exposed.
  16. Let's just hope it isn't permanent. It is the longest season going back to war time a hundred years ago but.... WHO GOT THE CUP? WE GOT THE CUP! WHO GOT THE CUP? WE GOT THE CUP! WHO GOT THE CUP? WE GOT THE CUP!!
  17. When he kicked that 63 yard FG the entire football world went nuts. I remember that as clear as day.I didn't see the play until the next day on ABC's MNF with Howard Cosell praising the kick in his own unique & inimatable way back in 1970. It was also the same season where 48 year old George Blanda of the Oakland Raiders was winning games as the starting qb & kicker after the starter Daryle Lamonica was lost for the season with injury.
  18. My wife is an RN & says they can only be used once. She also says once you touch your mask after you put it on (which we all do) it's contaminated.

  20. We have the exact same type of guy in Alberta.
  21. Peter Green wrote the tune & performed it as a member of Fleetwood Mac.
  22. Sad to report that Ted Gerela, the first soccer style kicker in the CFL passed away on July 20th in Chilliwack, BC. He played for the Lions from 1967-73. He was the West's ROTY in 1967 & was the leading scorer in the CFL in 1968 with 115 points. His 30 field goals that season was a pro football record at the time. He was the first to do it. Gerela was a trailblazer as most soccer style kickers were looked upon at the time as strange. They could kick further than a straight ahead kicker but their accuracy was a problem. Gerela's success helped pave the way for others to follow. His brother Roy played 11 seasons for the Steelers & won 3 Super Bowls. Ted Gerela's son Ted Jr had an unsuccessful tryout with the Lions. He was a 7th round pick in the 1993 draft as a linebacker.
