  1. You can't use injuries as an excuse. Every team has injury & health issues & the good ones overcome them. It comes down to what we've been saying. That the lack of depth is killing us. That some starters should have been pushed out years ago. That the way the team is built.the way it's roster managed is questionable & things are not getting better.
  2. Just shows how far we've fallen as an organization... Now fans are happy with participation awards. Suddenly, it's 2013 all over again. The ghost of Tim Burke is haunting us. I'd rather win playing ugly than lose looking pretty.
  3. We had a chance to make real changes last year but wimped out. Instead Miller gives Walters & Osh new 3 year deals? Three frigging years??? Why would you lock in 2 guys who performed way under expectations? In what universe did Miller think Osh would do things differently? It was never going to happen & now we're stuck with both on long term deals. Booch, you know better than to ask why Gabe Wallace isn't playing. According to Osh it's none of your business.
  4. Did you see her on tv today?
  5. Not great choices.
  6. We have fallen behind teams in the CFL. Just not good enough anymore. Two & 3/4 more seasons of this.
  7. I just want to see what happens if a new GM is in place. How do we know he doesn't change the culture of the club? Or make things more conducive to signing free agents. I just want to see what someone else can do.
  8. We've only had one GM & it looks like Chevy will be atround until at least the 2041 season calling the shots. Some of us will go to our graves never knowing if the team could have signed ANYONE of note as a free agent. Other than 4th line scrub dmen, forwards & goalies.
  9. As I was saying earlier...
  10. Laura Diakun seems more knowlegeable about football than Bierness. She also holds down the actual hosting of the panel a lot better than Bierness. Diakun knows her role & let's the guys do their thing comments wise. Halftime isn't the Kate Bierness Comedy Show. Things seem more tight & professional with Diakun. Kate is all about herself. I think a lot of fans wouldn't be too upset if she was replaced permanently by Diakun.
  11. Canada's "Country Gentleman" Rest in Peace, Mr Hunter.
  12. She just craves the attention. None of the others even Milt who is no wall flower doesn't do that. She walked back & forth on the west side of McMahon twice during the game. People were rushing down wanting to get selfies with her. She'd talk to whomever as the game is going on & lapped it all up. She paid little attention to the sction on the field. Not every narcissist is an evil person. She's probably a nice person but she is bombastic.
  13. So, who is our starting qb this game?
  14. You can say what you want about Dickenson. I know that he's an unpopular figure around here along with his brother. However, the culture of the Stamps is far different than the culture with Winnipeg. This FIFO thing we suppoosedly used to have has been replaced by favouritism & politics towards certain players on our team. the "favourites" we'll call them. Veterans that shouldn't be starting over younger prospects. Roster decisions that hamper our team. We all talk about it here so it should come as no surprise if it comes up. In a thousand years, doing a million interviews, Osh would never call out his defense in public saying that changes are coming. That the personnel isn't good enough. Even if the Bombers gave up a hundred points in a game he'd have nothing to say. Dickenson did it on the radio without being asked. He just said, "Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, even though we won tonight our defense just isn't good enough". Dickenson's comments caught play by play man Mark Stephens off guard. He stammered in surprise but Dickenson had something he wanted to get off his chest. Dickenson said the ending of the game really stuck in his craw & was very unhappy about it. So the team will be looking at bringing players in for a look see. Other than the DL which has played well, all the Linebackers & DBs should be nervous about coming to practice this Tuesday.
  15. Okay, whatever... The guy who wears #4 for the Stamps. Tevin Jones. Not Tevaughan Campbell. Jones is a dangerous receiver. As is Philpott. Their 3 Canadians all can catch. They all contribute. Brisset was quiet in Kelowna but busted out for 2 tds last night. The Stamps don't put in a token Canadian as a starter just to run routes as a wideout. We all know that defense win championships. It starts on the DL for the Stamps. You win by controlling the LOS. The Stamps DL only had one sack last night but they pressured & hit Kelly play after play after play. That's where it starts on the LOS. We'll never win if we get into a track meet like last night.
  16. I never paid much attention to the Stamps as I'm a Bomber fan but my eyes have been opened having watched them in Kelowna & last night in person. They run with 3 American receivers & two Canadians. It may be four if Clark Barnes is American, not sure. Every receiver they have is dangerous & can catch. They have their possesion receivers but they have two guys who can go deep & make contested catches in Jaylen Philpott & Tevaughan Campbell. Every receiver is used & is dangerous. They have the best DL in the CFL. It makes you wonder what the actual "you know what" we are doing as an organization. We can't compete with teams that are fast & physical. Our offense looks slow & ponderous. We certainly don't seem to have a physical defense. Especially on the DL. What kind of scouting & recruiting do we have?? After the game, Dickenson said on 770 CHQR that there is going to be changes on defense. He isn't happy with the talent & effort defensively & guys will be replaced. Different culture on the Stamps. They look good.
  17. I was at the game yesterday at McMahon. Kate Bierness was all dolled up as a cowgirl. The TSN booth was in the north end zone. We had seats on the goal line south end. She walked the sidlines on the west side where we were making sure everyone knew it was her... She's a narcissist. The fans love Milt, though. They booed the World's Fastest Cow when Milt's ego allowed the speedy bovine to catch him at the end. Milt looked to be running at 3/4 speed the entire race wanting to make it close.
  18. We're a summer league now thanks to the soft CFL fans who cry ab0ut going to games if it's minus 1. The CFL actually listened to these whiners.
  19. Traffic light after traffic light after traffic light. Bumper to bumper traffic. Rush hour is a nightmare on so many streets in Winnipeg.
  20. Yeah, they're behind in Kelowna. Look at Winnipeg, though. Compare how traffic moves in Winnipeg compared to other cities as large or bigger in Canada. Winnipeg didn't exactly embrace modern traffic designs, either.
  21. If the Lions were smart, they'd leave the grandstand up & play one regular season game a year in Kelowna. I loved the place. What a beautiful venue & city for a CFL team. The great thing about Kelowna is the fact there are not only a lot retirees the age of myself & my wife but a lot of young people also live there as well. Regina has 296000 people with another 100000 people including Moose Jaw 45 minutes away. Kelowna has 239000 people & the entire Okanagan has over 400000 residents. Kamloops, a city over 100,000 is 75 minutes away. There's a lot more money in Kelowna than in Halifax. Halifax is a city of over 500,000 with another 500000 in 4 provinces but the population is really spread out. Will fans drive up to 6 hours to get to Halifax?? How many could they draw from Newfoundland?? I have my doubts it would work. I'm not a big CFL Maritimes booster as they've tried for 50 years to get a team in there & a stadium built to no avail so why bother anymore. I just don't think it could work finanacially. Espcially that gawd awful Atlantic Time Zone which is 4 hours ahead of Halifax. Imagine trying to watch a game that starts at 7:30 pm on a Thursday in Vancouver?? Maybe I'm a dreamer but I think the CFL could work in Kelowna. It would need a smaller 22000 seat stadium which could be expandable to 25000 in the future.
  22. Just off field but not on field.
  23. I remember in 1986 which was the first WC that Canada participated in. We gave up 5 goals in 3 games but scored zero.
  24. I'm hoping we see a change next season with the new tv deal. Tha admin cap is eiminated & the salary cap is again substantially increased.
