  1. So, Murphy made the choice & not Dinwiddie? I never liked the guy. He's been an asshat wherever he went.
  2. I think Huffer threw a TD pass in that game to Joe Pop. I LOVE the Bombers playing playing Hamilton in the Grey Cup. We live rent free in every Ti Cats fans head.
  3. You probably should use quotes as I thought you posted it. I think we had 2 stubborn (& stupid) coaches who misused (is that a word?) the qb positions on their teams. LaPo & Elizondo. No idea what Dinwiddie was thinking. From all accounts, Arbuckle is not toxic & is a good teammate.
  4. Dinwiddie's decision to bench & then trade him had to be like being knifed in the back by his mentor in Calgary. That was perplexing.
  5. Booch, Sunderland gave Arbuckle a contract extension just before he was fired. He is an Elk for at least 2022.
  6. He's been screwed three times. Once by the RedBlacks with LaPo. Second by his former QB Coach Ryan Dinwiddie in Calgary & now HC of the Argos & then with Jaime Elizondo of the Elks who refused to play him. He would have been better off to have stayed with the Stamps. If I was Arbuckle, I'd have felt betrayed moreso by Dinwiddie than anyone else. When he injured his hamstring mid season in Toronto he wasn't playing that badly. I felt he was a better qb than Bethel-Thompson.
  7. LaPo is the big problem. He didn't want Arbuckle. He wanted Nichols. Just a horrible personnel decision that deep sixed their season. The salary cap on coaches saved his bacon.
  8. I was triple vaxxed a week ago so not up to full immunity yet but even when I am, I still won't feel safe.
  9. Bomber fans had a few rough seasons as well after the previous braintrust was all fired after the 2013 season. It took awhile for things to fall into place but we had patience & we never stopped believing, no matter how painful it was to watch the Bombers slowly turn it around. The Elks are finally going thru that long awaited inevitable downturn that probably should have happened 40 years ago after the last dynasty but didn't because they had people running the show that knew what they were doing. It's really only been ONE very bad season since 1970 & the fans in Edmonton have just abandoned the team by the thousands. I sympathize with their plight but don't feel very sorry for them. Now they know how we felt being kicked when we were the 98 lb weakling by other teams in the league.
  10. Notice how we only win with the classic look? If Wade Miller does read these posts, please don't change the look, colour of the uniforms or the W on the helmet. Just leave it all alone. It's working out just fine.
  11. The difference between the CFL & NFL. Some guys get it right away. Some guys don't. In fairness to Vince Ferragamo, I read that he & his wife moved their family to Montreal. They tried to be a part of the community where they lived in the Montreal area. They even took French lessons to try to fit in. I never heard one story about him being an asshat to the media or fans. He was offerred a lot of $$$ to play for the Als & why wouldn't he take it? In a lot of ways it's too bad it didn't work out for Ferragamo.
  12. Sure he would have as most if not all career coaches think they have what it takes to turn things around doing it their way.
  13. It's a sore point with players & they'll never agree to go back to longer term contracts without the bonus money situation taken care of.
  14. As in 2013. That was a horrible team. May have been the all time worst. No one wanted to come here.
  15. It means whoever says that doesn't know what they're talking about but they sure sound impressive saying it.
  16. Yeah, once you win back to back champiuonships other teams want your players, coaches & potential GM's. Best wishes if he's hired.
  17. All kinds of players came up here from the 1950's to the early 80's. NFL stars like Bud Grant, D i c k Huffman, Neil Armstrong & Buddy Tinsley of the Bombers. Or college players like Ken Ploen, Jim Van Pelt, D i c k Shatto, Joe Theismann, Leo Lewis, Don Luzzi, Tom Brown, Joe Kapp, Jackie Parker, Jim Corrigal, Tim Anderson, Vic Washington, John Helton, Jim Stillwagon, Johnny Rodgers & a lot more. Even as late as 1980, the Als signed the top NFL draft pick of the Cleveland Browns by the name of MLB Tom Cousineau. These guys were all studs & legit NFL players & they all played up here. Lest I forget the Als also signed RB David Overstreet, WR Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, Rec Fred Biletnikoff, DL Keith Gary & WR James Scott who caught 81 passes for over 1,400 yards & 6 TD's in 1981 but returned to the Chicago Bears a year later.
  18. Nobody runs a 2 back offense anymore. I have no idea what Nikota Kalinec did as a fullback to be a CFLPA All Star. To reflect the modern game, have another slot, no FB, just one RB & one more ST player selection. Not just returner, kicker & punter. The other STP would reflect a cover guy like Mike Miller who should be an all star.
  19. Both sides have to do what's best for the league. It's time for egos to be put aside & make changes that benefit everyone.
  20. The league has to stop releasing players days before a signing bonus is due. GMs make a committment then live up to it. At the same time if a player pulls a Darian Durant he can't keep the signing bonus. It must be returned in full by a specified date. The CFL can't afford guaranteed contracts so a solution has to be found about compensation after a player is cut. Especially after the 9th game & beyond of the season.
  21. I think Joel Quenneville's career as a coach is over after what transpired in Chicago. Plus, there's no way Chipman hires him with the connection he has with Chevy when they were both with the Blackhawks.
