For that reason alone even if he wins us 5 cups I would not be able to call O Shea a great coach. Forever stuck in the "goodzone".

you're the same guys who have a complex with picking a random player and hating them because they aren't the flashiest. ie Pav and Thorbs. Those guys Definitely don't deserve all the hate they get.

Yeah he is, seems like he bulked up to about 250 before signing in the nfl, then a tiny bit more since then.

He apparently played both ends easily in college which is good. And he has a had a good portion of reps at LBer. Hes got that pass rushing, play making allways in the back field, nose for the ball nature. A guy like that will run around the field and make plays at many positions. But the plays you miss are what defines your position as much as the type of plays you can make. I wouldnt want to see him in coverage other then zone.

Have to temper expectations though hubbard and green and others have come in with the tool kit and pedigree and been under whelming.

haha totally agree, will reserve judgement until i see him track a running back down out of the backfield. Seems like lots of these guys are great at rushing the qb and have the physical tools but lack the discipline to be effective in coverage.

if we wanted to play a 3-4 physically he could certainly play ilb. His primary skill set is pass rush though, and the knock on him in college was he struggled with reads and run blocking so any lb action would probably best be if he was a positional pass rusher. I think we should just free him and let him play de.

Kid is a little bigger than Ian Wild, will be very dynamic and looks like he can play 3 to 4 positions on the defence. Could be a plug and play player for us and will be a great addition on ST. That experience consistently going up against D1 Tackles will be a huge upside for him

Looks like a great athlete who bulked up some in the nfl. A true rush end but spent of his nfl time at OLB, as he was considered too small to play DE. Looks like a high up side guy. Glad we arent resting on our success, and hoping guys like green turn into some thing.

Sounds like his up side is a cross between kyries hebert and gavin walls. Hard hitting guy who has played a ton of special teams.

The cross between a safety and a Defensive end.... that = Linebacker? Hmm very odd way of describing him.

  5. Hello Fellow Bomber fans! I have long been a suffering Bomber fan all my life as i'm a 90's baby. I've had season tickets all my life sitting in section X or Y which was often a great place for a kid to learn new words! ;)

Im a huge bomber fan and pride myself on football knowledge especially growing up with no NHL team in town i spent all year following the Blue, big Steelers fan and Milt Stegall was my idol growing up. Ive made a few posts already but i look forward to talking some football with all of you!

    Go Bombers Go!

I think the problem is that the newer guys seem to be very comparable in what they bring to the table. Honestly,  I don't see much of a drop off either way in the db back field. What are the intangibles? Who can contribute more in other ways? Vets bring leadership and rookies bring a bit more hunger and a much lower price tag. Who contributes more on ST? Maybe  it would be a good idea to see which player might bring the best return in a trade.  If the club could shed some more salary  perhaps they could/would be able extend someone like Chung or Westerman a bit sooner rather than later.

How would a trade help us? Injuries happen and unless youre getting a big return that you cant pass up count me out.

Kyle Walters said on 1290 that teams are always looking for DBs, recievers and Dlinemen. You can never have too many of those guys

I might be in the minority here, but I might make Fogg the full time returner and maybe have him back up in the secondary. reminds a lot like Jovan Johnson, ball hawking DB but good returner, but I think when playing one or the other his game can be elevated. If our issue is an abundance of capable DBs, then I dont see the harm in having Fogg focus on those returns solely

there is a difference between capable and exceptional. Fogg these last couple game has been exceptional. Quincey Mcduffie is also a great returner in case you forgot but you'd be crazy to take Fogg out of the secondary.

Edmonton's not top tier this year. They've got one of the worst defenses in the league and they've won less games than we have.

i agree EDM is not top tier its a little early for me lol. either way the last 2 weeks have been dominant and that was Nichols first game starting.

  9. The old saying is you have to be good to be lucky. I get it we probably havent played the top tier of competition besides EDM on our winning streak (which was a close game) but i think this team if they can get a couple receivers back will be pretty dangerous.

I see your point but, I don't think taking away two turnovers at the end of the game tells the real story. The rain delay game was won/lost in the first quarter. It was pick 6 on Masoli's first throw, 2 and out, great punt return, 12 yard TD pass and we're up by 14. Ham has a 5 play drive ending in a fumble. We have a 7 play drive ending in a TD and the route was on.

The last 2 turnovers in the rain delay game didn't have any effect on the outcome, because we were already so far ahead, but IMO, we wouldn't have been that far ahead except for the 4 turnovers that had already happened in that game.

so basically if they made plays they would have won and if we didnt they would have won.... Thanks Burg great analysis
