I think the "Canada's Team" thing comes more from the Cowboys being referred to as "America's Team". Which to be honest is just as much nonsense as the Riders being Canada's Team.
i live in canada, ive never felt like the riders were my team.. wierd

Good thing they fixed the OL by putting in 3 americans finally right? Cause you're fooling yourself if you think that hasn't changed the complexion of the team immensely.

even if you only have a limited route tree for him against BC i think he would still be very valuable in the red zone
-
So excited about this signing, to get a legitimate red zone threat like this midway through the season for absolutely nothing is HUGE.

JFG. Harris will be back so they can add another import receiver.
That's true, kinda sad because JFG has been playing really well

According to Madani, they tried to trade Hazelton but there were no takers.
probably because they knew he would be released regardless

Vidal likes to talk in the 3rd person

If we do pick one of those guys up who sits? is it Ryan smith or Denmark?
-
Do the bombers want Kevin Elliott, Tori Gurley or Vidal Hazelton?
If yes which one?
If no, why?
IMO I would love to bring in a guy like Tori Gurley he is that type of reciever that will go up and steal the ball from a defender, the type of big play reciever this team hasn't has for a LONG time. In order to win a Championship these are the type of risks i believe we have to take.

I wonder if Andrew Harris has a high ankle sprain... that would explain the uncertainty of his injury status week-to-week...
Bingo

I hope that was good for you. Seemed like you had something stuck in their for a while. It is good to get that stuff out before you get rotten from the inside out.
i'm not gonna lie i feel better

Consistent accuracy too but yeah.
Brohm would have been a great QB if Football was like tennis and you could bounce the ball off the turf before the receiver catches it

there has been mention of him not playing and I think he is nicked up but im not sure.
Do most of you guys want chris jones back? at this rate do you think he will be there next year? At this point if I was him and had any job security Id start gale and air lifted young guys to try and find more to build off for next year.
Yeah pretty much. Even the cooled down rate is really high. Yeah the calgary loss in it self isnt panic worth. As moral a loss as you can have. Could be what the team needs to take a step into sustained winning. Edm is good and hot should be a great game im pretty excited for it.
The second half of the game was definitely a typical Bombers half, gonna need a better gameplan and better effort next time we play them (hopefully without Johnny Adams)

So we're still bringing in receivers...probably a good thing...Never heard, how did this guy Outlaw turn out or did he??
The rosters recently expanded so as far as I know they're still on the PR?

Could we still cut Adams? Please Walters that was inexcusable

Davis looks to be the more promising of the two- size, good body control, decent speed and fights for the ball. Duncan looks to be a Dressler/Smith clone who is a speed merchant.
4.29 is up there with the fastest players ever to run the 40 in the NFL combine. I'd say he is the more promising of the two imo

I think some of you are misinterpreting my original post. Yes I did say have Flanders at RB and move Harris to a receiver spot in place of JFG or Kohlert, but It wasn't meant as in Flanders replacing Harris outright on the roster. Harris for sure needs to play but I also think Flanders has shown a lot of value as well and the thought process is initially on the 2 RB threat they would provide (even if one is listed as a receiver) at any given time. Harris has shown he's got good hands and can run the short routes typically our NI receivers do so that's where you don't lose anything for ratio or production hence why i suggested he get slotted there.
IF Harris needs to be the official RB then fine let him and slot Flanders in one of those 2 NI spots we played this past week, either way I believe the reward and upgrade to having both Harris and Flanders out there would be pretty significant
We all understood and we still don't agree with you.

Showing them??? Since when has Westerman become them? Maybe it felt like there were two of them.
i had to read that a couple times but yeah I didn't hear anything about a specific player?

hey, I'm bitter enough that I was glad to see Messam get hurt. When we were down a ton at the half, 17to85 and I were saying "time for someone to get a hold of BLM and twist hard..." If you can't win, hurt someone....I am very bitter and jaded after all the years of embarrassing losing....
Man i'm way beyond the point of try to win with class, as long as it's not a career ending/ season ending injury and helps us win ill take it lol

He mentions Westerman by his number right before he made that comment. Said he was "doing all that stuff", which I assume is a reference to him being dirty, so it makes sense that's who he was directing that shot at.
He was mostly right too. He was showing us, and Westerman can be a dirty player.
I didn't see Westerman do anything out of the ordinary. The statement was "we're showing them what they are" that's to me saying we're overrated. Nothing to do with 55.
Either way the team showed a ton of heart, we hadn't played CGY for a long time and it seemed we were playing way too conservative, hopefully we have a better gameplan in the WCF.

Sounds like a guy who's scared there's someone challenging the Stamps position of overlords of the CFL. Wonder what he'll say when we whip their butt in the West Final?
agreed, very lucky on his part. i can smell a repeat of last year, Reg season champs.

So much wrong with this that i have no idea where to start....

Apparently Mitchell said his comments were directed at Westerman, who he basically called a dirty player. He said he wasn't meaning to slam Winnipeg by them. Duh-OK ... so what if he shows up early and puts in the work? That's his job and the Stamps pay him well to do it.
How do his comments have anything to do with Westerman? I'm not usually someone who believes in all this racial profiling but if Bo wasn't a white QB everyone would be calling him a thug. Lucky his team won that game at the end because he's looking pretty stupid rn.

I think this is not so clear cut as there are many DB (in all leagues) who are plenty fast but not great catchers. Football is great in that many different positions allow different physical skills to be utilised. Since returning kicks also involves catching I am not so surprised that receivers are common. It doesn't really bolster the argument that DB's are slower than receivers.
Someone who is totally dedicated to this argument needs to go through draft information for the last 100 years and determine with a low p value how statistically significant their results are, Or you could just walk away muttering to yourself.
The thing is that typically speed isn't the biggest factor. As kids, the fastest players play at a skill positions, the guys with nice hands and height (lanky) play receiver and the short quick guys with good lower half play DB. Obviously there are short guys who play REC and tall guys who play DB but that's typically not the norm as taller guys are typically not as coordinated and can't backpeddle as well as smaller players.
