  1. Call Chicago. Call Tampa Bay. Call Los Angeles. Call Pittsburgh. All drafted high and built through the draft.
  2. MLB and NFL have two leagues/conferences that have representation from across the country. We've cut the country in half. Not at all the same thing. It's 9 (and sometimes 8) team league. Let's have one division. You'll get East & West teams in the finals.
  3. Blink? Good god, I bet Chevy was hoping for Four-1st rounders! Some of those will be lottery picks, I think. (Chevy's not an idiot, unlike, Sweeney)
  4. That's a real change from what we heard a few weeks ago. Sounded like it was Willy's team until the end of the year.
  5. They should be able to expose the Bruins back-end and their lack of speed. Looks like Armia is back, hopefully Chariot too.
  6. And they can't play again this year. No salary savings... no cap savings... So, why now? I guess they must have felt that they would make things worse. Heard Carter wasn't going to feature much over the final few games. I guess they thought he would become even more destructive. I wonder if the NFL is an option for Carter?
  7. Nine other teams could conceivable sign Trouba today with their cap space. Two of whom would need to clear about $1.5M in space before doing it.
  8. Myers has also been playing hurt for the past few years. He said it himself. He wishes he would have had the surgery he had in spring a while ago. I would call a former Calder trophy winner a pretty exceptional player. Elite? Depends on your definition but I'm not going to argue either way until I see him play this season.
  9. That's the last thing we want. Chevy and True North are classy, which befuddles Overhardt.
  10. I don't know about that. Ask the Corsi people and they would say Trouba is the better player.
  11. Hmmmm... I'll have to listen to the quote again. I thought he wanted them all to play on both sides. I could be wrong.
  12. Maurice said he expects his four kids to move and play on both sides this year to help their development. (Referring to Laine, Connor, Ehlers and Morrissey) So, maybe Laine, Connor and Ehlers would flip sides in order to accommodate the aging Ladd. Good problem not to have this year!
  13. I didn't realize Gaydosh's injuries were that bad, either. I thought the Riders stole this trade. Too bad for the guy. He really could have been a special player in this league.
  14. They could pay him 7 x $6.64M and get under that amount. I guess the Jets would sign him for an AAV of $6.64.
  15. That would be a pretty tough call. I mean, if it were Edmonton with the offer sheet, I would be inclined to let them have him for two firsts a second, and a third. Look how often they pick first overall! At the very least, they would be top tier picks!
  16. Sat in the new seats for Cirque. They're nice. Not much more to say than that. I think Helle gets the start. Someone must have the cap space and picks to offer Trouba a $7-8M x 7 year deal? That doesn't require 4x 1st rounders. I don't think anyone would do it, at this point.
  17. I think it's a fair deal for both sides. Maybe he gets a bit more somewhere else but he would need to be traded. He can do well for two years on this bridge and get traded to a team willing to take on his big contract going forward. Meanwhile, he gets another chance at a Stanley Cup run and pays really low income tax. Win-win.
  18. They didn't punish Saskatchewan that much for far more egregious violations. I think the Esks get fined and Maas has to be mic'd up for an entire week - at home and work. Imagine the ratings of the all Maas channel. Ketchup or Catsup?
  19. Think he reports? They don't need to send him down for a while. He can stay with the Jets for 10 games or 30 days (I think those are the terms). But, he obviously can't play. They can give the H's a run and see how they do. If it crumbles, they can activate Pav and send down one of the H's.
  20. I don't know if I'm more amazed with the fact that Chiarelli got something (anything) for Yak or that's he's given away another top pick while getting so little in return.
  21. I guess when you get so many first overall picks, you bound to get one good one. Good thing for Edmonton they got so many chances.
  22. I agree. You have to put Lowry somewhere. That let's you carry one additional forward and defender that you intend to play.
  23. I look forward to getting a cheap ticket to BMO Field to watch the Bombers beat up on the RedBlacks. It will be a fun time!
