  1. How is he hampering anyone's development? They could put him in the pressbox if they felt someone was more deserving. Right now, the kids are developing where they should be, where they can get the minutes each night. I wouldn't mind Dano up at the big club but I don't think his development is hampered playing big minutes, dropping passes between his legs in the AHL.
  2. On what basis can you make the claim the "AHL is not helping him"?
  3. I guess I don't entirely disagree with this. However, we need a player that wins faceoffs and Copp wins faceoffs. Last year, Petan didn't get to the circle very often.
  4. I've had some time to reflect on my earlier thoughts.... I would hang onto Stafford now, unless he was part of a bigger package. If the Jets are close to a playoff spot come January/February, he's exactly the type of player we would target. So, keep him now, wait and see.
  5. I would call up Copp or De Leo before calling up Petan. I wouldn't shed a tear for Staf or Burmi. I still think Staf is good enough for the 3rd line until he hits his streak. He's also a good veteran that will help teach the kids the right way to play. But if we could get a decent pick for him now, I might go for it.
  6. It's amazing they find the stadium each day with that type of blind luck. They traded for Nicholls. They drafted Loffler. And they signed Medlock.
  7. Does MOS have a more talented team around him now? Yes. Are they winning now that he has better talent? Yes. Has Walters brought in more talented players each year? Yes. Extend them. 5 and 3 sounds about right.
  8. Presumably, LaPo would be promoted again to HC, if MOS left. Hoping we can keep both!
  9. He's definitely playing well but he really needs to start putting up points. I wouldn't put Thorburn in front of him but I was shocked at how few points Armia has in his NHL career, so far. With the way he works, you would expect more. Just hoping he can contribute on the score sheet soon.
  10. Better than Stuart standing there watching the play go around him.
  11. Stuart was worse and slow. Chiarot at least can recover from mistakes and play with Buff.
  12. On the Big Show, Beyak said he would put Stuart and Thorburn back in, since they had to sit out the opener and it would have been tough on them. Thank god Beyak isn't the coach. PoMo better not kill the momentum, like he did last time, and send out Stuart and Thorburn because he feels bad for them. Keep the same line-up, IMO.
  13. That's too bad. It was my go to after Capgeek went down. I guess I'll use Capfriendly now.
  14. No, everyone knew it was a terrible place to build. This is not new. Tickets sales and attendance have been an issue in Ottawa for ages. Now, they're competing with the RBs.
  15. The temporary revival of the REDBLACKS. With Ottawa, I cannot believe this will be long term. That arena is in a terrible spot, which doesn't help, and the city has done nothing to help the process to get there.
  16. It's like a Xmas miracle! Or maybe a Halloween miracle!
  17. Problem is that it's an unregulated industry (for the most part). A supplement company, although 'reputable', could still have errors on their labels. Then you add in third party resellers like Popeye's or Gorilla Jacks, who have no idea what's actually in the products they sell, and you create an area of risk.
  18. Really? Had nothing to do with drafting Canadian O-Linemen? And scouting Americans? And trading for a QB? And, it's not like we haven't had many misses in free agency. But if you make a mistake in the CFL, you cut it. Can't do that in the NHL.
  19. And none were drafted first overall, which you need to build a Stanley Cup winner. Keeping top tier (not elite) talent around is important too. I really don't understand your argument. You want the Jets to build a middling team to eek out a playoff win or two, never getting to the Stanley Cup. You want them to overpay for people like Lucic?
  20. Jets played there best game of the year against the Bruins. They should be even better against the Leafs.
  21. You turn into the Oilers by drafting poorly. All recent Stanley Cup winners have had elite level talent that you get by drafting in the top 3. Jets have one of those now. Trouba wants to play close to home, in the US, where he can maximize he value. It has nothing to do with playing on the left or the right. It's just convenient. Sheif, Wheeler, Buff - all want to play here.
  22. Of course not but you only add those pieces when you have the ELITE level talent of drafting high. Those are some pretty darn special players right there! (Except Fleury... but he's had his moments) You could be a team like Minnesota. Never bad enough to get a top pick but never good enough to be a contender. Edmonton is special because they thought if you were a Stanley Cup Champion, you could build a Stanley Cup Championship team. (I bet McJeebus turns their fortunes around)
