Even with Laine and Connor the Jets will still have a tough time making the playoffs but not impossible, we are getting closer but maybe another high pick and some shrewd trades at the deadline would benefit the team in the future.
Can't see any of the top 3 picks being traded away, the Jets will probably continue to stockpile prospects till after the expansion draft if their is one an may trade when Chevy feels the team is ready to be a perennial playoff contender and or trade for some one to get the team over the top.
He just made to many mistake for a guy that had been in the league a few years not surprised by the move or any of the other ones this team needs to get better and find better players.
Edmonton needs to spend money on defence not a guy who thinks he's worth 6 mil for 6 years plus he didn't like the rebuild plans in Winnipeg and Edmonton seems to be spinning it's wheels. Ladd doesn't have many options especially if the cap stays at the same number.
Why Ladd did not resign with Winnipeg is between Chevy and himself, did he over value himself, did he not want to be part of a rebuild/retool i have no idea but i think the Jets have moved on. He may take less money to play for a contender but he wont to play here.
I don't know he won a championship nothing to prove in college and is leaving money on the table that he will probably never make up really not exactly a sure thing to make the nhl makes me wonder that he wants to become a free agent, wouldn't be the first guess we will see after next year.
