  1. The best solution is going back to the days when they had no video replay. It delays games, rarely decides outcomes, and isn't improving the officiating. If they are going to insist on keeping it around. Teams get ONE challenge per game. That's it. Period. The officials review the play watch it at full speed and the angle closest to where the on field official was. Period. No multiple angles, zoom ins, slow motion, frame by frame breakdowns.
  2. Plenty of coaches are decent people. That doesn't mean they are good coaches
  3. All due respect to Walby, Ploen and Grant should have been 1 and 2. I would have honoured the older players and coaches first. Then the Walby's, Stegalls and Blinks
  4. White could be a problem but a containable one. The secondary is indeed a bigger concern.
  5. The Esks offence is still very good and our defence also still needs to improve. The Bombers have not won two games in a row for a while. I hope they can break that chain of following up a decent game with a crap fest but until they do I will have to favour Edmonton.
  6. Oh he is no Collaros for sure but he has taken steps in the right direction. Its not like Winnipeg has been cranking out starter QBs. I certainly am not going to blame a team for going after a established player. It helps if you can but would you argue with being in Edmonton, Hamilton, or Ottawa's place? Or look at Montreal, they went out and got Glenn even though they have had a few guys very close to becoming legit starters. All Masoli has to do is clean up the turnovers .... Something Willy has had his issues with as well.
  7. Yeah. I think he has actually done pretty good.
  8. I don't know about that. Despite the turnovers I do think Masoli has vastly improved.
  9. Yep you nailed it. They took what was available,
  10. Finally they put together pretty close to a 60 minute game. I was please that they finally started working the crossing patterns and other passes that that got the ball out of Willy's hands quickly. Honestly? If they are giving you the short stuff then use it. That was much more the game I was expecting from the defence. Good pressure from the line. I was disappointed they gave up so much yardage later in the game but to be fair they shut them down when they needed to. And, hey, full points on the turnovers. I have to say I wasn't a big fan of signing Macho Harris but he has actually worked out quite well. I think our weak point is still the half backs. Legget had a great game. Nice to see some fire and attitude out there. It has been a long time since I have seen both the O and D looking like they cared what happened out there. Hopefully, they will bring that attitude into Edmonton.
  11. Okay I will correct myself. The term only just was incorrect. But the Bombers were never in that game. They made two defensive plays that took points off the board and Montreal took another off on their own. The score and the stats flattered the Bombers though because Montreal was able to move the ball pretty much whenever they wanted and were able to shut down the Bombers as needed. My Father and I left with about 6:30 minutes left and though they tried nothing changed in that time. Whether it was 22 or 222 points its moot all facets of the Bombers game were not up to snuff. It is something that has become all too familiar. It's great that some of you can be so bloody sure this team doesn't suck but trying to bully or insult others into your line of thinking doesn't work very well. It's what actually causes a drop in posting. If someone wants to ***** and be overly emotional it happens. The solution isn't to pull out personal attacks and other common fare here it is to calmly and rationally try and argue otherwise. *****-slapping only leads to more bitchslapping. Since those overly optimistic folks can't, or don't want to, rationally discuss things you get what you have now. I, for one, don't wish to feed the wolf any more and I would encourage other pessimistic folks to refrain from posting. If those overly optimistic sorts want their blue blinders forum let them have it.
  12. Winnipeg lost by one score only because of two turnovers by Randle and one penalty. Winnipeg was never in the game.
  13. When have the MOS Bombers not done the Keystone Cops in the first half?
  14. It's pretty hard to stay healthy when you get speared in the side of the head.
  15. The difference between the 2011 Lions and Winnipeg since 2009 is that they actually had a decent roster. They were a good team playing like crap but managed to wake up. Winnipeg on the other hand does not have the same caliber of players and lacks any significant coaching.
  16. November 1, 2014 was the last win in Calgary. It has been much longer since they won in Edmonton and on Labour Day. Just saying.
  17. The line wasn't great but that happens when you don't move the pocket, run, screen, or countless other things. Willy's vision and decision making is putrid. I put far less blame on the OL than the coaching and execution by the QB. What line can pass block for three seconds when seven to eight defenders are on the line? What coach would continue to keep a straight drop back when that has been the book on them for three years? If the QB cannot perform in a moving pocket then they need to be replaced with someone who can. i was not surprised at all what happened because the people above the players are incompetent. MOS and crew are never prepared for games and are incapable of adapting on the fly (or at all). I doubt teams have to do much prep to play the Bombers.
  18. Until Willy gets into a three second release pattern he is gonna live a hard life. If the opposing D knows you are a five or more count QB they are going to throw everything but the kitchen sink at you. It's really simple Willy is as much to blame for his lack of staying vertical as his O-line. KG isn't very mobile either but he compensates by having a three second drop and release. Very hard to defend against that.
  19. Just an FYI IGF is not below grade, or at least not as much as they originally wanted. They couldn't do it so they had to raise the surrounding grade. I don't know about that open end. If it is a South entrance it might not cause that much problem wind wise but it is odd that they would not have done more wind remediation like they did at IGF. It is looking pretty good though.
  20. They did. Without the call who knows if they would have done better than how the game finished? I doubt they were going to make it to the end zone to win. The best they could have done other than that was tie the game with a FG which was no guarantee. You can spin things how you want Dee but Calgary didn't need to score points at that time the Bomber did and they couldn't. While the call helped it wasn't needed to get Calgary the win.
  21. Considering not even all the refs in the NFL are full-time I don't see this happening. Better pay is always a plus but just because you get better pay doesn't ensure you will get the best people in the job. There has to be good training, feedback, and many other things to get and keep officials up to speed. Even then I seriously doubt that fans and the press would ever be happy.
  22. I don't really have any issue with the reffing in the CFL. I am not a fan of the constant rule changes which only makes the job harder for the refs as they constantly have to not only adapt to the existing rules but the new stuff. Did the refs cost the Bombers a game last year? Most would say yes but at the same time if they were a better team it would never have to come down to one call. Too often the refs are blamed for the incompetence of a team.
  23. Actually there are lots of pay for use newspaper sites. The Freep and Sun are just two more. BTW it was online and 24 hour TV and radio news that killed newspapers.
