  1. I'm starting to wonder if the reason I own more summertime Bomber apparel than fall apparel is more than just a coincidence.
  2. By definition, the Board of Directors doesn't meddle in the day-to-day operations of the organization it presides over. They're supposed to direct and control the organization's overall success, the only employee they are responsible for evaluating is the CEO.
  3. 1. Medlock 2. Wolitarsky 3. Thought the D as a whole played pretty good... they only gave up 18 when the O turned the ball over 5 times. HH to Hecht for that forced fumble when the Bombers were on life support. Also congrats to that streaker on his permaban.
  4. I don't know why everyone is complaining about the offense, they were on the field for 34 of the 59 combined points scored by teams tonight ... that's good right, right???
  5. Well I just think it's going to be really awkward for Matt Nichols to explain to his daughter why he named her middle name after a football team that wanted to run him out of town (her name is Parker Winnie Lou Nichols)... guess it seemed like a good idea at the time? source: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/qb-matt-nichols-proud-new-papa-of-baby-girl-456683783.html
  6. Yeah, we hate Westwood too. Our management team made the best decision available based on the information we had at the time. Too bad we had such a porous offensive line - I always thought Willy looked broken after his knee injury against Hamilton... before then he was by no means stellar, but at least a serviceable QB with promise. After that injury though things really started going downhill for him. Besides, we couldn't have been that crazy - two other teams (Argo's and the Al's) both took a chance on him, likely also based on his 5 or 6 good games with us.
  7. Westwood, yes but you're off by about a decade - he referred to you guys as (I'm quoting here) "a bunch of banjo-pickin' in-breds" back in 2003. First Banjo Bowl was then played in 2004 the next year.
  8. Ross's stat line with us was 1 game played with 1 attempted pass that was incomplete.... oh did I mention it was on a botched FG attempt? In a game we ended up losing by 3 points? Yeah... good riddance.
  9. > Complains about wishful thinking and childish behavior > Protests by changing his forum avatar. I'm sure Wade Miller is shaking in his boots now. The irony!
  10. I'm gonna call in as Throw Long Bannatyne in the post-game tomorrow then.
  11. I feel like someone should do a stakeout at IGF and test this theory. Wouldn't be surprised if this isn't actually happening.
  12. I will quash this theory now before you guys go all Donald Trump conspiracy theory on me... it was just a coincidence. The username is simply meant to be ironic.
  13. It still astounds me that we ran for so many yards, yet had such an inept passing game, stuff like that is unheard of when the ground game is chugging along... only time that ever happens is in bad weather games usually.
  14. Lobby the CFL to reduce game time from 60 minutes to 30?
  15. Man your posts are terrible - we should put your backup in.
  16. Obviously it was LaPolice's fault for drawing up a play that required Nichols to throw behind Washington to work.
  17. Obligatory reference to Dave Ritchie's one-rookie-one-loss rule since it was Washington that made the gaffe.
  18. Best part about that throw was Streveler knew he couldn't get alot of mustard on it, so he threw it to a spot where only Adams had a play on the ball. Worst case it would've been an incomplete pass.
  19. Most recent report available for Winnipeg shows we had 4 pedestrian fatalities in 2016 (source: https://winnipeg.ca/publicworks/trafficControl/pdf/AnnualCollisionReport_2016.pdf. - page 7). Our estimated population for that year is about 727,500, by comparison, Calgary's is much more 1,239,220 (those are just estimates from Google). Reduced speed limits won't stop accidents from happening, but it has been shown to reduce the severity of injuries. As for drivers ignoring the signs / law - a law is only as good as it is enforced.
  20. Kevin Glenn called the plays for the game on August 14, 2008 against the Hamilton Ti-cats which resulted in a win. (source: https://archives.winnipegfreepress.com/winnipeg-free-press/2008-08-30/page-65/).
  21. While technically true, ties are really rare in the CFL. Argos have the most of any club to date with 26 ties since 1907. I would also argue its' even rarer for ties to occur in the current overtime format - they just don't happen that often. Besides, its kind of a moot point to say you're working against the point differential you lose the first game of a 3-game series...of course you are, otherwise you wouldn't have lost the first game.
