  1. Could we do a quote instead? "Too many men on the field.... Saskatchewan"
  2. This just reeks of cash-grab to me... every aspect of it just seems such a gimmicky way of doing things... the fact that the certificate of authenticity is digital and I can have an 'augmented reality' of the Grey Cup in my home? So... $400 for a bad photoshop and a PDF? Yeah...hard pass. The missus and I already got our photo (which was free, by the way) with the real Grey Cup, went to the game when they won... oh and speaking of the Grey Cup... just wanted to point out this gimmick costs MORE than an actual ticket to the Grey Cup?
  3. I really do think the unsung hero in this game was Geoff Gray, knew how to play on the edge and did just enough to get under Edmonton's skin... all whilst not being penalized. Dirty? Arguably...game-changing? 3 minutes and change after Strev gets stuffed on 2nd and 12, two stupid Edmonton penalties kept that drive alive allowing more time to be chewed off the clock.
  4. Okay so if you are City of Winnipeg property taxpayer and have a public library card, you can access the Winnipeg Free Press archives. The photo you are referring to here occurs on page 55. To access it, you just need a Winnipeg Library Card (link below) https://access-newspaperarchive-com.wpl-dbs.winnipeg.ca/ca/manitoba/winnipeg/winnipeg-free-press/1981/08-10/page-55 I can also screenshot and send it to you if you'd prefer that instead... that or teach me how to post images on here lol (I still don't know how).
  5. In university, worked at the movie theater (Silvercity) as a projectionist as well, so could often keep track of the game easily as I'd listen to Irving while threading shows... could see the scoreboard between East/West booth of the theater. I can thread a 45-mm film projector in under a minute, which goes on the long list of non-employable skills I acquired from that job - wasn't all bad though, threading film was super-easy once you got the hang of it, managers were pretty laid back and was able to graduate university debt-free as a result of it (had class during the day, would work the night shifts for shows during the week). As a kid, was always a fan, but my first real live experience that was memorable was in 2010 when Bombers came back from a 21-point deficit in the 4th quarter. Absolutely crazy game and was the first one I attended live with my then-girlfriend (now wife). Next year we agreed to get season tickets and have enjoyed it ever since. Side-note, because of that game, my wife and I never, ever ever ever leave a CFL game early. Which resulted in witnessing the Montreal miracle a few years back, which was also awesome. She's also even more optimistic than I am, I remember during their abysmal 2013 season she'd also say "at least it's an outing..." which was, technically, true.
  6. Since we're all gushing over Strevs anyways, just thought I'd mention he is one of the only QBs I've ever seen that goes out of his way to make blocks for his teammates. Other QBs do it in critical situations (such as on a WR double reverse) but he's just straight out there looking to hit someone. Best example I can think of was in the Grey Cup at 4:05 of the shortened highlights, seals off #94 perfectly. https://www.cfl.ca/2019/11/24/gc107-recap-winnipeg-33-hamilton-12/
  7. Just stopping in to say I too was one of the doubters. Mr. Collaros, you sir will always be remembered fondly for that magical 2019 Grey Cup run, helped push us over the top at just the right time. Also, yes, I love this idea and can't wait to see Fajardo throw that post pattern.
  8. Hey a Trudeau's facade of caring about the average Canadian taxpayer is better than no facade at all... right?
  9. I get where you're coming from, but personally I've always had peace with the thought that the league just wouldn't be the same without the Argos...
  10. "Annnnd it's a foot race!... " when it's not actually a foot race and the guy gets tackled at midfield.
  11. How on earth does a man that was unable to run a successful CASINO get elected? Y'know, the place people that don't understand probability and basic math go to just watch their money disappear among smoke and flashing lights?!??!
  12. Well, the bright side of cancelling the season is... At least I'm not in Saskatchewan. Man that place blows.
  13. Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, William Stanback, former Als RB returns to NFL camp tryouts after tragically losing both of his parents in the span of 10 days. https://www.cfl.ca/2020/08/12/cfl-als-sending-best-wishes-former-rb-william-stanback/ My sincerest condolences, that is very tough to go through in these trying times.
  14. I was alluding to the government relinquishing its' funds, actually.
  15. As is typical of governments in power, Trudeau will use CFL as leverage and only let the funds flow starting in 2023, just in time for the next federal election...
  16. So much this. My mother-in-law wasn't taking COVID seriously then I explained to her that if I unknowingly contracted it, I would probably be fine, however if I then passed it on to my 2-year old daughter, and she were to become critically ill, she would end up in the hospital. She wouldn't understand. She would die. Alone. Alone and scared. How anyone can justify anything less than utmost precaution is beyond me.
  17. We don't have to fear COVID-19. We have to respect it, which requires adequate levels of safety measures... just saying a threat doesn't exist doesn't magically make that threat go away.
  18. That's okay, it's not like the CFL season during the summer is one of my single, most favorite events that helps me get through even the harshest of January freezing temperatures...
  19. They've got nothing on Lewis and Clarke though
  20. I have so many questions on this response.... 1. When did we start Harris at LB in this scenario? 2. Is it still a check down if the pass from Nichols is intercepted by a former teammate? 3. Who are you paying in this scenario? The Argos, Nichols (bribing), the Bombers? Me?
  21. I get your point, but this is a slippery slope to declare you'd do anything for millions of dollars.
  22. Man, I miss the days when our biggest problem in the world was Matt Nichols not throwing for 300 yards.
  23. Who did not see this coming? The people that are going to have such an appetite for risk to travel recklessly are the same people not to where a mask anywhere, ergo they have a higher infection rates due to their behavior. Talk about short-term thinking for long-term pain.
  24. Obligatory angry comment about hockey injury!
