A bit of a positional need break down post free agency since it seems we will only add min contract vets from what walters was saying. Starting DBs, Ford/kramdi Nichols BA Holm Parker. That leaves 1 full time spot for sure open, and parker will likely have to win a spot as well. Starting OL Bryant, Neufeld, Kolo/Eli, Dobson. That leaves one spot open, and likely our 6th OL will be the back up C. Wrs Lawler, Woli, demski, Schoen. Which leaves 1 imp starting spot, and a back up NI wr spot (Likely Murphy.) DL WJ Thomas/lawson Fox Haba/Garbutt. Likely Fox will have to win a spot in camp, as well as the 2nd DE. So we will likely see 1 full rookie imp starting on the OL, plus one back up moving up to starter. At WR we will certainly end up starting a 2nd full imp rookie, DL also has a very high probability of seeing a full rookie imp starter. In the secondary I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 rookie starters, 1 is for sure. So we will probably have 4-5 rookie starters. We also might be looking at a rookie kicker, (hope castillo re signs) possibly a rookie KR, and a mostly new Sts / cover team. Strevy, while familiar with buck will also be adapting to bucks offence, though I think that will be a great benefit by time the season starts. JY as a rookie Dco isn't much of a concern to me with Hall staying on. Davie ritchie used to say you lost 1 game per rookie starter you had. I think that is more true for mediocre teams or rebuilding teams. For an established team with a strong locker room like ours I don't think it will be soo rough. I also think we will become far more dynamic and by mid to late season have developed far better depth than we had last year. How do you grade this off season/FA for the bombers? Strevy back is a huge win, especially on such a team friendly deal. That and keeping both schoen/brady for less combined than any one wouldve thought is another A+. A couple of the subtractions to the roster are also a big win. It sucks not getting any league vets to come in for starter spots, but our scout team is dynamite. Id say this off season is a B+/A-. We are gonna get some more blue chip prospects at several positions and I don't think we will miss a beat on offence. If we manage to get those blue chippers in the places of need and they show up to camp, I think it'll be a solid A off season at worst. We've never struggled to find rookie talent on D either. Or win with rookies on D for that matter. in 19 pundits doubted our secondary league wide. But the 2 rookies who started on the same side of the field as each other have turned into a regular NFL starter quality player, and a guy whose among the very best covermen in the league.

Quick, some one find us a military vet with no football talent what so ever! A canadian might be nice this time though... How hilarious would it be if some one picks jackson up now? Look at you Oday. This is going to be a real interesting TC. Lots of starting spots up and some key rep opportunities. A lot of addition by subtraction this off season.

Seems like their whole dl hit free agency and now are trying to fill 2 rosters worth of dl.

He’s a guard who has played tackle. He got turnstiled just as much as any one with speed off the edge. He has no chance of surviving out there on a regular basis.
-
With the continuity lost and other teams improving I wouldn’t be surprised if we win Less games this year. But I think we will be a better more talented and athletic team, and a lot more dynamic after new guys are just the guys. We will find talent.
-
If he starts at wil out of camp he’s going to be the talk of the league. He plays on more of an edge than most of our front guys for the past while, is soo explosive and has a great instinct. Love watching him play.
-
I think it’s in part becuse he was passed by Cole. Clements is bigger for sure, but his tangibles are pretty common for an imp. Probably confided in their ability to find higher potential guys.
-
Clip it and pin it on a billboard. I believe hardrick moves to guard by bjb if he still playing then it isn’t at tackle. The guy is a beast. His physical talent is extremely rare to find in an ni. He’s been losing weight as well and getting faster. You can really see the traction he made late season. You want shorter guards. Being taller inside is harder and actually pretty rare. Both made a start.
-
Guard is a funny position. It’s way more about grit, nastiness, and low to the ground leverage than the finesse required at T C. I’ll also add that I think it was the side by side combo of gray and kola that was bad. Previously gray next to other centres was a much better guard. You can have 1 guy on the line you cover for. Can’t have two. Damn sure can’t have them side by side. Couture made a lot of guys alot better.
-
Imo gray is just not cut out to be a guard. It’s odd, but it does happen. Yoshi was the same way. He was much worse at guard before he became entrenched at rt here.
-
Neither does Hamilton lol. Dudes gonna be pushing against that wall till the cows come home. did I miss it, is gray signed else where? Every one is talking like he’s gone. Personally I think if he’s playing football next year it’ll be here. If he’s back I think he’d have an inside track at RT. Which as some one said previously being next to neuf will be an asset. A lot can be said about him, in far from his biggest fan, but you aren’t gonna swim in side the rt and split neuf and any one. Plus he can make the adjustments and help the tackle assignment/pick up wise. I’m still hoping we see Eli, Dobson and gray all win spots out of camp. That said if it’s an imp Tackle and gray / kola as 6th man that’s pretty good too. I think it’s a good time for change on the ol. We have the young guys with upside who have as much seasoning as you can get with out starting every game. We have the picks and a draft to restock the cupboard. We struggled in pass pro last year, especially with speed rushes. And we struggled with some guys getting down field with the ball instead of pile cruising after yards are gained.
-
Hell yeah. That’s ideal imo. Kramdi can be a package guy, and general back up, ford the starter. Lets us flex soo many different ways. The two high look can be done with Kramdi now instead of a hallett. Which lets us do more with split field zone, or use a small package to run gap cancel, or blitz from small packages. Like we could go cheetah front, with all import dl, take the wil off, put in an extra saftey, and be able to defend any thing short of a heavy package. We could send one guy with the dl and instead of biggie getting eaten up by an ol we could send a db off the edge while the ol struggles to block 4 guys pass rushing in the front. The upside with Kramdi kind of reminds me of singletary/the ss’s of the 46 bears era. there to make plays and like you said disrupt, forcing the offense not to go deep. Create pressure inside the tackle box and back field. Limit the offences ability to stretch sideline to sideline. The best Sam’s these days are generally bigger and play like that.

Sergio is the only vet kicker around I’d want right now. Assuming we bring him back, I’d rather let him punt unless we can find an ni or maybe a global who has a bede Esq kick off leg as well. Sergio is a good punter, his kick offs suck but who knows how the kick off will even work this year. Not worth sacrificing all those net punt yards and having consistent punts from our end that put the other team in field goal position to start. Yeah and he started out better than he ended up but damn it can’t just be the coaches call when he was soo horrid at punting from deep in our end.
-
Poopkup can qb keep though. Which for some reason is treated like it’s suddenly super hard? I’m betting walker was getting north of 100k from cal. Not far north but a bit. I don’t think even with proximity to home and possible tax savings / conversion that he’d make that down south. It’s also a fledgling league that already has more players than spots.

Way too much for a guard. Even a great guard. Repeat for infinite salary for him lol. -
I could see us going after a couple rando low level free agents. Robert priester, rice, or even James tuck. Or a slightly above that tier guys like Christmas, jagared Davis, kongbo could be another teams former project imp db, or ol. Could bring back lofton by boy I hope not. I could see oakman going to xfl 6.0 too though I’d love him he’d

Hunter signs an extension in Toronto for 275k and 285k for 25/26. Was under for 209k this year. Wwwtttffffff I thought desjarlais deal was high how do you pay a guard that much money? That’s insane. -
Yeah pretty meh imo. I expect most of the Ts we had in camp the last year ish to be back for this tc though. You’re right. Hansen I think the only limiting factor will be health. That guy loves football. If he can get and stay healthy he will be back. I think Clement’s will be back, though I also think getting an imp lber the same quality is some thing our scouting team should be able to do. Kramdi ideally is a back up db to ford. Or in general. If he takes a step forward that could change but he has to make that improvement first. the impact on ba is interesting to consider. We aren’t generally slow to get rid of over the hill or dbs who can’t recover from injuries. So maybe the two years out from surgery and JY running the D could be huge for BA. If he goes back to his prior level of play and impact that’s a game changer. If he can’t, then we need to move on and I don’t think they’ll hesitate to do so in camp if that’s the case. We definitely need to add dl depth especially ni dl quality. Draft, kongbo, trade even drafting a global would be great. He’s older, but jagared Davis would be a good low risk high reward guy to bring into camp. He’s not a guy you can pencil in as a starter, but a great lemon Esq upside guy who can push rookies and would be cheap. I’m sure Hamilton would be looking to move on from his deal. He’s really close with wj too. It’s ideal to bring in some low cost league vets to push rookies for camp. To be fair, very few teams go ni at Sam. He’s a better Sam than the hallets are safety’s. Usually that’s where the passport is hidden and it becomes a make the td saving tackle spot instead of a real coverage aid or play maker.

As jbr said cover 0 we played in the 4th, that cost us more than bend but don’t break. Really every one plays that style now. Though not all as soft as we have. If we showed cover 0 and dropped all but 3/4/5 as equally as we ran 0 in the 4th we win the game. Master of none commander of a roster spot. I don’t even count him as a dl. Bailey would be more effective at de.
-
It’s front 6, but we have kyrie biggie with cole as a back up and Clement’s behind that. Some good teams rotational Canadians. Need a couple more rookie imps for camp but lber is in fine shape. At de we have wj and Habba as starters with Hansen backing up. Hoping for kongbo and again rookies. At DT we have fox and Lawson which I’d be fine with as our starters. We have some camp prospects already, plus korny back. More rookie bodies another Canadian from the draft would be nice. Personally I’d love to grab a guy like oakman as well, he’s still a fa with a dropping price I’m sure. the front is pretty much where you’d think it would be. Jj retiring was a surprise but thought he’d walk in fa any way.

We said the same thing about desjarlais sitting around hoping for an nfl deal for a year with out getting one. And he, was certainly good enough. It’s not clowning, it’s just reality. It’s not enough, to have the talent. It’s not enough to have the talent and athleticism and the size. The nfl pr and tc is bigger than ever but the active roster is the same. Our rosters are small enough you shouldn’t see tcf here any more. But it’s very real in the nfl. No cfl guy making ar money should take an un paid no bonus nfl tc invite. It’s a huge risk with only a chance at comparable money. they should only go for a signing bonus and contract where they will get a buy out the deal if an injury happens.
