Details haven’t been reported. Putting the cart before the horse is one thing. Sticking it up the horses ass is another. You have the core of a team that’s gone to 3 grey cups in a row and add lawler. When you don’t have a dozen holes in the roster you can afford to splurge. That said I’m sure he’s under 300k. Also we had two players for 900k last year. Worked out pretty well. What was fajardo + duke last year? Even if it is, the cap went up 160k. That plus ellingsons 160k would give us 20k extra if we spent all the same money as last year. Bailey wasn’t cheap, we will save at c, and likely save at db as well as some vets likely move on. And with all that we don’t have to fill another hole in cfl fa. No other team can say that. The pieces we need we can get from first year guys.

But collaros is at 600k and Masoli went from 500k to 425. blm is making 550k. Maier is 400k. either collaros and Masoli are getting shafted or the Harris contract sucks. Imo Harris and blm should be like 300k guys at this point. Other wise you need a half million back up to your half million starter.

250k plus play off money. And I think most people learned that soo much money to a wr means you don’t have a lot of support around you. 300k+ deals mean you are going to be catching suicide tosses over the middle into big hits. 250k plus play off money catching precise passes at the side lines and in the end zone. Davis career high rushing yards in college was 172 yards. Above average athlete who can maneuver outside the pocket and throw while on the run... Has shown the ability to pick up the first down with his feet. Negatives -- Sub-par arm strength, doesn't get much velocity on his throws... Will struggle with his deep outs and anything down the field... When June jones got to ham they had been struggling with good offensive pieces but not enough protection. They go max protect to 6 ol and a blocking back full time and have one of the best offenses in the league. Since he left they’ve stripped it down and down and just gotten worse. It’s crazy how hell bent people in the league are on doing the same stuff when they just don’t have the pieces to do it well.

He’s really good at moving the ball between the 30s. Terrible in the red zone. Imo toxic wasteland when it comes to leadership. Far more dependant on an ol than fajardo like you say. And even with an ol would struggle to put up the scores the riders will need to be competitive. An upside for the riders is he is used to a balanced offense and doesn’t need to drop back 40-50 times a game. I feel like the lack of an established oc is attractive to Harris. He will get an offense tailored to what he wants to do. To be fair duke was making like 250+ right? The pieces aren’t available to fix that ol though. The best thing they could do is start a 6th ol and a really good pass blocking back.

Tbh it doesn’t take much to be an upgrade to the current crew. It’s plop with interesting side pieces about game plans and execution or more blathering of muppets.

Masoli wouldn’t survive and he’s much more elusive and has a way better release. I feel like edm is the only guy who can offer top dollar to both. Be hilarious if edm signed Lewis to a 300k one year deal lol.

Wrs sayles and a couple back up guys. Wr is the only position that’s really deep in fa too. Great position to be in. This. I suspect we are not going to give sayles good money. It’s a lot easier and cheaper to bring in a first year nose and continue to rotate Canadians at the other dt spot. I think sayles is in grants position last year. Has an offer and it’s not huge. Gonna sit through fa and see if any one wants to pay him or if he wants to continue to play enough to play for a last year type salary.

It does fit that a guy with his physical tools who falls out of the nfl lacks that drive and commitment. But coming out of Regina I wouldn’t put any stock in any rumour or issues like that. It’d all be on interview and research. Wj probably had the same kind of accusations leaving edm and ssk. It is also true that they tasted early on bad olines. But we also failed to do the same against similar guys. Qb controversy is going to be hard core. I’m surprised mcmanis didn’t go to fa. He could’ve gotten paid like mad. This fa crop is going to be as sparse as we’ve seen in a long time.

It does but if you are the 5th dl on the roster you aren’t getting many reps. Practice isn’t stretching out your motor especially for the running you have to do in the cfl as a dl. Nothing simulates or replaces in game reps. It’s very different demands physically. You’re talking maybe 10-12 reps in a couple drills vs 50 plays plus teams. And the difference between 1 on 1s, and a couple practice snaps vs having to run all over the field. Personally I think tor goes after harris and trades mbt to ssk. To be fair we gave collaros a contract and gave up a first in doing it after what 4 games? The upside is it’s not guaranteed. They can always cut him and save that sms. Free agency is looking pretty underwhelming rn

Yeah I mean a no threat qb is as good in that offense as any. to be fair he is probably the best short yardage qb in the league.

Take a look at how many games he played in the nfl. (15 games in 5 years) you aren’t getting stretched out for a longer run of games sitting on the pr.

I’ve been thinking that since the bombers cut him. Some guys show really well in practice. We’ve seen soo much for in game reps with him and he’s soo seldom even decent I don’t get it.

A guy like Lanier is really coveted in the nfl too. He can fill in a bunch of different techniques and get after the qb 6’6 280 if he played a few more games last year he’d be in an nfl camp.

I think people really under estimate how hard it is to go from 11 college games with a lot of time to play them up to 18 games in 20 weeks plus camp and pre season. It’s soo much harder for linemen too. also to be fair, Jackson jeffcoat has played 12 games each of the last 4 years. Over those 4 years he’s averaged a bit over 6 sacks as an end. And he’s making north of 200k. Probably a 2 year deal then. Though you never know with the cfl. I’d trade a 3rd or 4th to get him back.

I want to say he was on a 1 year deal. He didn’t play at all. I’d love to bring him back either via fa or trade. King of the C tier qbs. I think he’d be a good fit in tor and a better fit than blm in ham.
