  1. I don't think HHH ever had a "manager" persay. I vaguely remember him be escorted to the ring by some hot ass broads back when he was the "Connecticut Blueblood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and then later often escorted by Chyna when he was running DX. Seems like a Valet is ok but a manager is not these days
  2. The Revival seem like a good technical tag team but they lack a bit of pizzazz. I suppose a hot valet can do the trick but I miss the cheap shottin cartoony character you just know will have an influence on matches
  3. I'd be in favor of bringing back more managers as the voices of bad promo wrestlers. Obviously Heyman is a great example of it currently working but IMHO back in the day managers were just as integral part of the wrestling landscape. Guys like Bobby Heenan, Mr. Fuji, Jim Cornett, Jimmy Hart, Paul Bearer... they were at times just as fun to watch and help stories unfold as the wrestlers themselves. I wouldn't oppose getting back to that. The current state of just pitting wrestlers with wrestlers (Titus World Wide for example) doesn't quite do it the way Heyman does in over all cause and purpose for me.
  4. sorry meant "sega's own super mario" like flagship title
  5. while I enjoyed the games back in the day when Sega was starting to take off - felt it was Sega's own Super Mario, after watching that god awful woody woodpecker movie a little while ago I have zero faith in these type of movies
  6. not quite the same, Simonise was 2 years ago on the cusp of cracking a NFL roster (still not a valid excuse but some insight into possible pressure felt at the time) and has been clean since, where as Thigpen was juicing during your playoff run
  7. While we all know songs like Love Shack and Rock Lobster (thank you Larry lobster on the vlts and family guy) but I've been kinda digging some other old B52 songs. just weird AF and pretty much the kinda s*** i used to write with my buddy back when we were trippin balls and messin around with guitars and synths. This would be a typical song we'd write;
  8. IMO sounds like Rosanne deliberately did this. Its been how long since the anthem thing almost 30 years now? and people still remember it. If I had to guess this come back was a means to make bank ($100 mill as some of you have bandied about) and she goes out with another notorious bang that'll have people talk about her for the foreseeable future. Not the way most would go out, but when you want out you do what u gotta do and she's doing it laughing all the way to the bank
  9. I enjoyed that James Bond parody intro,. So much I almost missed the what was being written in the for the cast and credit (though they also did that in DP1). It will be interesting to see if they make a DP 3. Personally I think they will because there's such a big market for it, and seeing all the crap merch they were selling in lines for popcorn yesterday (like wallets, socks, stuffies..etc) it would be foolish for the movie companies not to cash in while it's hot. I think I've seen enough of Colossus and whatever that chicks name is. DP has such a wide variety of interaction with so many different characters in the marvel universe it would probably be really stale to try and pin him up with the same characters for a 3rd movie in a row. Cameo's are fine but focus elsewhere. I think if they brought back the concept of the Weapon X program in X-men Origins: Wolverine, they could do wade wilson's character a little more justice then what they did with him at the end of it. He mentions several times how he was in special ops for over 10 years, maybe backtrack on that. If they were smart though they'd bring in Omega Red as the bad guy in DP3 who has history with the Wepaon X program, is enemies with DP, Colossus, Cable, Domino, Firefist and Yukio among other if they are sticking strictly to the cast so far in the last DP
  10. that pic always makes me think of i know they don't look exactly the same, but I assume Murphy has a hole dug out in his basement all the same
  11. lol you guys may need a solo spoiler thread.... just sayin Just saw Deadpool 2 last night, didn't feel it was as good as the first but rarely sequels are, but it was still a pretty funny movie and worth watching. I liked the rapport between deadpool and cable but felt instead of maybe "The Wolverine" or Logan they could have done this with Hugh Jackman before. The grizzled war vet - no non sense guy antagonized by the smart ass "clown dressed up like a sex toy"
  12. sounds like someone who's been hitting the meth bubble vs that suffering concussions. Watching movies like concussion and listening to various people who have suffered through them doesn't sound like they become over night conspiracy nutjobs. Now having experience around those who use, this is right up their alley. Give a young man perhaps with lowered inhibitions a ton of money and bit of spiraling (losing his job to Gurley) and it's a recipe for this type of behaviour
  13. no reason White couldn't be the 5th receiver in place of say Lankford unless its 100% certain were going 2 NI at receiver. IMO Bowman is just replacing denmark for a little more money
  14. Couple of things; 1. wasn't it proven that Fridays were not a good night for wrestling? Friday Smackdown became Thursday Night Smack down then eventually tues. I know for me personally there was a time, and at the time, there's not a chance in hell I'd catch an episode of SD cuz Friday night after a week of work was go kick it with a few beers and the boys... which kind of sucked because back when storylines were actually a thing (seems like not so much anymore) SD was a continuation from Raw not seen as an separate entity as it is now so I'd only catch the aftermath on those like video segments on Raw the next monday. 2, Will there be any issue having wrestlers jump shows (like Cena as the self proclaimed FA)? I'd imagine the networks wont tell Vince and Co how to run their shows, but I wonder if they feel they'd be losing potential viewership if bigger name draws are suddenly on a different networks version of WWE
  15. I mentioned on RF that Ross was a Rigmaiden recruit while he was a scout for BC and now is our US college scout. Pretty good indication why Ross is here and will likely be given a solid chance to prove more than he did with the Lions who weren't exactly lighting it up with Jennings either last year
  16. when i read the tweet that we signed Bighill I was on the crapper at work and let out a loud "Holy S***!!" ... had someone come knock on the door and tell me to keep up the good work lol. gotta say Walters has done well last few years with some FA's but THIS is the type of signing I've been waiting for, seemingly for decades with various regimes. A highly prized talent from another team coming back to the league and joining the Bombers, not the typical return to their former teams where no doubt a huge level of loyalty may remain (seems to happen a lot with Edmonton and Calgary). I'm not sure if there has been any interviews yet but I'd love to hear the breakdown of how this transpired. Did Walters make him an offer he couldn't refuse or did Hervey deem his current LBs more than adequate enough to not even compete for his services.
  17. I keep trying to envision what a ring in a toilet is. If its the seat or the ledge of the bowl, I think your jumpin off a little early if your hitting either with your log lol. Now I can get behind the team slappin DD's face on the urinal pucks on game day, or the very least the 2 games we have against the Riders at IGF, hell put those pucks up for sale at the bomber store and recoup some of the money he burned us for
  18. I seem to remember hearing $200K durant signed for (with no mention of the signing bonus at the time) if I'm remembering that right $130K left over with a pinch of westerman monies and a life time coupon for free cheese nips and I think were good
  19. I watched a bit of Raw last night, I think the british crowd annoys the sweet piss out of me. I get why they do their world tours but man you'd think we were watching billiards or something. I know I had an issue with Cole and his "Vintage" _____so and so____ when they'd pull off one of their moves, as usual, like every match, every time... but last night watching the Owens/Lashley/Elias MITB qualifier match, not sure who pulled off a slingblade move put both Cole, and I wanna say Graves? both at the same time were like SLINGBLADE! - it def wasn't Mumbles T, anyways... it sounded really weird for the 2 announcers to jump in on each other like that. Seems like it is typically a Cole thing to do as he always tries to over sell the moves with excitement like his Vintage thing, but I got to wondering if Cole would ream him out after the show for something like that. Not sure what kind of wrestling biz etiquette there is for the non-in ring stuff but I'm sure if back a ways if cole had said baaagawdd it's a slobberknocker while sitting with JR ol JR woulda cuffed him with his 10 gallon hat
  20. this was the funniest thing i saw last night before i crashed
  21. The look i give when I'm reminded it was darian fricken Durant we signed didnt like the signing then still dont. **** DD
  22. Well.... roster cut down day comes and instead of pink slips Huffs handing out RRSP pamphlets with the words "See you soon" inside. I would hope there is a provision in place that would force a player who declares "retirement" in a year to at the very least forfeit their eligibility to resume playing that year or these rash of retirements is nothing but a joke loop hole to roster # management
  23. Brett "The Cat" Blaszko, gotta be getting up there in most teams played for by doing sweet patoot
