  1. I dont disagree, however theres ways to go about it to showcase all your invitees. Preseason games have limited time so obviously playing time is severely restricted, but it sounded like Yantz wasnt even getting much if at all during the lead up in all the many practices. Why have him then and not use the spot for another spot where playing time is more likely. You could easily have Brohm vs marve head to head for #2 while seeing whose better between Portis and Yantz, once Brohm vs Marve is determined, have the #3 go up against the winner of Portis vs Yantz. its not like theres not enough bodies at camp to have mini scrimmages
  2. Im not subscribed to the freepress online so if someone is and can somehow link it, its a scott billeck article. He says it was pre-determined and getting 1-3 reps (sometimes none at all) during practices is hardly the fair shot to compete he was told he'd get. From all accounts of poster's TC reports that's how it sounded too. Was it a wasted spot in camp? I know if someone else filled that spot it's no guarantee they make the team, but sounded like Yantz wasn't given a legit shot to do anything at all
  3. very classy of him, all the best in TO (except vs the bombers)
  4. or they arent fully content with what they saw out of our linebackers and what they've seen from shell might equal or be better then what we currently have?
  5. I cant completely disagree with people not wanting to pay into a health care system, if they themselves aren't ailing. strikes me as a high risk high reward kind of system in gambling with the if/when you'd ever need it. It would interesting to know what the average person in say a 10 year span pays into health care tax wise, and how much that person actually uses it during same time and what the fees incurred would be against that amount paid. Of course in places where poverty, disease and violence are rampant I think free health care would end up costing the people way more in taxes as a whole or the government would go broke with how much is being used vs how much they'd bring in money wise. In a place like the US where you pay through the teeth for medical care, how much goes to the government? or are their hospitals and doctors self governing with those payments to look after themselves?
  6. they do better job holding ppl back at the isle entrances at hockey games, but unless people were coming and going every single play, i can forgive a few let thru's
  7. yeah the crash mat was pretty obvious, but still lol my buddies obsessed with MGK so i had to text him immediately after i watched. Beiber would be worth watching too, I bet he would do something too, I mean he did that opening stunt on his roast so my fingers are crossed beibs gets a Lesnar F-5
  8. had to watch the youtube clip of it cuz i guess i turned off raw too early last week but Im impressed MGK took a powerbomb from Kevin Owens after performing his new single, guys gotta be 110lbs soaking wet
  9. So you just walked right in without needing a ticket? yep after a quick wand search of me (not my soon to be 11 year old) we walked in, i stopped at first to look around holding ticket in hand but not a single person with the ticket scanner, so we kept on going and took our seats. I also took my son to Nickleback/Pretty Reckless in March, we did have our tickets scanned at the doors going into the MTS center, but he didnt get searched there either. Im a little surprised by this. Not that i would think a 10-11 year old is carrying anything illegal or on the banned list of items they are looking for, but who knows anymore with such messed up ppl in the world.
  10. weird thing about that game on friday is i got there just before half time cuz i was watching my sons football practice, while i got the metal detecting wand search, there was nobody there at any door of gate 3 doing the usual ticket scan. Is this because it was preseason or is this common after a certain point in the game?
  11. was it saunders that refused to play preseason game with the stamps 2 weeks ago just prior to being cut? if so, doesnt sound like the kind of player attitude Walters and MOS have been pretty vocal about being just as important as talent. Maybe there was more to the story, or maybe im confusing him with someone else?
  12. if I did a sports select Id take Als over Redblacks (27-13) Edmonton over Toronto 35-14 (argos pts coming off 1 defensive td, 2 fgs and a rouge) Hamilton over Stamps (put picked as a tie) 24-21 Riders over Winnipeg (17-7) I just dont think the bombers have the gel yet
  13. Not a chance the Riders are letting that guy get away. Even if they handle their PR a little differently the message is the same, "hands off". If that were true they wouldn't have cut him. Rider fans are pissed off at Taman for this move. I think that the Rider faithful will have many more opportunities to get ticked at Taman this year unless they go something like 14-4 and into the western final. Rider fans seem to think that once they win the Grey Cup, they ought to do it at least every second year. We havent won a cup in forever and I expect the same with the bombers Im beyond the point of "just do good, be competitive, patience" really i just want them to outright win. This isnt about who is running the team, how long they've been running the team, I'm happy with the direction we were headed, but as a fan, I just want them to win already
  14. i saw a fb what are they called meme's? anyways its said, tired of ppl making like 12 million dollars to make a movie telling me to donate when i make $12 an hour. very few ppl got rich by helping the needy, and i'd image very few would part with their fortunes after they made. I dont know if I'd necessarily call it greed, I mean if i come into money I got no problem buying the buddies im with a few rounds, but itd be stupid for me to look after the whole bar's needs. As far as im concerned throwing money at problems is only a quick fix, itd be far more responsible to invest in proper education and training first and foremost for countries/regions in a constant problematic state to learn how to be proactive in prospering once that money train ends. examples i can think of in the top of my head would be poverty in africa, they should be investing in education on farming and spending money to overhaul the soils and such if the current state is unable to be cultivated. But you probably face warlords and pirates hijacking that **** constantly. In our own backyard, victims of residential schools, clearly experienced and went to hell and back, and our government just threw money at them hoping it was "good enough" rather then investing in proper psychiatric help these people needed first and then assist financially. Cuz just like all the money donated to africa, and for so many survivors of the residential schools, just throwing money instead of responsible spending has done wonders (sarcasm). I think its easy to wag your finger at a capitalist society if they aren't helping the less fortunate, but if everything was equal wouldnt we be then communist?
  15. is damien thigpen related to marcus thigpen? does he return kicks?
  16. weird i thought they were all high on his progress considering how long he'd been out of football, and even last night I thought that was a pretty nice catch even if just short of the first down from Marve as he was being drilled out of bounds, figured PR would have been near certain
  17. i thought a general consensus among fans was we did the majority of what was needed bring in experienced ballers, and tweak it with some new blood via scouting but they would need a few real games to gel cuz many of these guys never played with each other before. I might be over stating the opinion of the Oline with this but I dont think its too far off to think the team we see week 1 will likely be a better team come week 3 or 4
  18. all i got from the game was, #1 underwood for the ticats has awesome hair - kid and play worthy, the bomber cheerleaders are so much hotter then i can remember in recent memory. if anyone knows the guy who wears a gold Johnson jersey section 107 row 1, seat 6, he was pretty funny talkin smack to the ticats players, he came to rock and i salute him
  19. i hope so, im taking my kid to after his own football practice (but i think rain will cancel it) but hes a ticat fan (not a clue why his entire family both sides are bomber fans) luckily well be right behind the ticat bench, and at least hes not a rider fan
  20. I think they are putting their money on Ruby Rose (new character as Stella Carlin) recently I see her everywhere on FB so there's fans of hers they might have been trying to lure as its also mostly chicks that post her on fb
  21. I think it was more the connection with the characters then anything, there is nothing about reservoir dogs or pulp fiction i can sit there and say, at least at times, yep been there before or totally get it from first hand experience where theres aspects of mall rats and clerks I can relate to having worked at a sev or crashed the mall as a teen with only a couple bucks in my pocket. Not all of it is relatable but more so then the Tarantino movies. That being said I agree Tarantino's movies are far better and would choose them over Smiths, From Dusk Till Dawn is probably the only movie I like George Clooney in, but thats just me
  22. I liked clerks 1 n 2, mallrats, dogma, jay n silent bob strike back, but i think a lot of it had to do with its supporting cast. I like jason Lee, Jeff anderson, and Jason Mewes and are probably what made those movies for me in their own respective roles. Mewes is credited on Tusk as an associate producer but i think thats just a friend helping a friend. I cant believe anyone who agree those this movie. I mean usually with a horror/comedy there's a story concept then if the movie happens to miss its mark you can usually say well it had a good concept just failed for whatever reason, but in this case the concept is batsh*t stupid, the horror isnt scary as much as its just disturbing and the humor is bad. Johnny depp's worst role ever and I think he wanted his name right taken off it. the credits show "Guy Lapoint as Guy Lapoint" even tho everyone else kept their names on the credits. its just wow. even tho its supposed to take place in Winnipeg and Gimili, reason I dont think it actually was other then a shot of the airport, was i dont remember any kinda press saying Johnny Depp, Justin Long and Haley Joel Osment were here and that seems like big news. |I remember when Brad Pitt was here filming that western downtown how over the top the media was constantly with it
  23. I know this is upcoming movies but didnt see anything for currently released movies like we used to have the old movie review thread on the other site. Anyways I watched a movie called tusk yesterday, written by Kevin Smith, starring; Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment and Guy Lapoint as Guy Lapoint (Johnny Depp). Movie takes place in Winnipeg/gimili so thought id watch though i dont think it was actually shot here vs just used the names. one of the worst movies i think ive ever seen in my life. Only reason id recommend watching it is because its THAT bad, its on movie central on demand if you have it, or just look up on an alternate program, as it was released in 2014
