Not too mention Bryan and Jefferson. Could be a lot of changes in the offseason. But I doubt that they will move on from Zach.

3 turds play CH stink stank stunk 3 in a row

I thought Person looked pretty good he made the mistake of getting his hand in the mask but basically had 2 sacks in limited time. Vaval looked like an instant upgrade over Bridges. Who returns kicks next week assuming Vaval remains at corner? Mario Alford is available. Would like to see is go after Dakota Shepley who is almost certain to get cut by Dallas. -
That’s a heck of an analysis. Sure they let him walk to save money on cap…. That’s one way to put it. The guy is way over paid. Overplayed by a country mile. I’m not a fan of Jake Thomas at this point but linking the two together lacks logic. Ford is getting paid way way more than Thomas. The two negotiations aren’t linked in any way. It’s your view that Winnipeg is 400k under the cap? I’d love to see your source on that.

In terms of Walter’s approach. I think he gets a sense pretty early on if a player is going to listen to offers in the tampering window. And in those cases they want to wait and see what the guy is being offered before going above what they think is fair value for a player. The idea that Winnipeg would have been able to retain Ford had they communicated in a different way sounds like cope from Ford. He took the money and the chance to play with his brother. But nobody going to say they did it for the money. Given how difficult it is to keep a good team good for long term in a salary cap era I think they’ve done alright. We’d be in a better position if they’d been better at recruited Defensive ends over the years. They seem to cap out at serviceable when it comes to defensive end recruits.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Colin Unger replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If Ontaria Wilson gets cut who do you guys think moves to slot to upgrade sterns? Wheatfall or Wilson? I’m thinking Wilson because he’s a bit more physical that Wheatfall and if Wheatfall continues to have success there at wideout why mess with the chemistry. -
I’m not making a statement on whether these were all wise moves or not. I’m just following up with my statements that Walter’s has stated that he had a plan to let some older vets go each year rather than all at once. I don’t think there’s much of an argument to be made that this hasn’t been happening it just has happened slower than much of us would like. It’s true likely that if Bighill didn’t have constant injury problems he wouldn’t have been replaced. But that’s just how it often goes. So far you can’t really question the wolitarsky move as he hasn’t yet been healthy enough to suit up for Hamilton. Oh and Johnny Augustine is another aging player we replaced. Basically Hamilton paid for Johnny and we got a good young running back from them as a throw in on the trade for the global pick. Johnny sure did look good two weeks ago though. It’s nice to see these “Team Ted” players doing well in Hamilton.

Hardrick, jeffcoat, wolitarsky, Darvin Adams, Harris come to mind as players we allowed to move on or didn’t offer on in previous seasons. I imagine not all of Bryant, Nuefeld and Thomas will be back next season.
-
But these moves safe for Ford are in line with Walter’s plans to let a few move on per season rather than needing to replace them all at once. There’s only a few left at this point

Jefferson is basically useless at this point outside of the of the knockdowns. I expect the gap between career knockdowns and sacks to keep growing until he retires. Hes gonna to retire as the only player with 100 knockdowns and 75 sacks.

Bighill plus bye week made Calgary look like a well prepared team. Winnipeg was also just really not in the right headspace. Lots of opportunity to win that game. Interceptions. Missed open receivers and when we did put the ball on the money we had sun in our eyes…. glad we have a bye week and justification to make some changes. I’m willing to give Sterns some credit too he’s finally playing to his potential. Sask sterns minus the drops and fumbles is a decent little receiver. Hope that continues. Thought our kick cover teams were pretty good. Let’s not act like Schoen got paid in the same ballpark as Lawler. Hoping we get Wilson back soon.

The main reason we’ve lost 3 Grey Cups in a row in my opinion has been the offensive line struggling to protect Zach combined with Zach not being as athletic as he once was. If Vanderpool provides a significant upgrade to the offensive line then I think it’s worth shaping the rest of the lineup around that.
-
Pleased that we are going back to Vanterpool at guard. Didn't think he (O'Shea) had it in him. Seems to be more confident this season than last. He's got the easy assignment and picking up where Ford left off in terms of interceptions. Tyrell Ford's stat line for the seasons consists of 11 tackles and no interceptions.
-
Not sure by what basis someone would pick the stamps in this game. Of coarse anything can happen and the could might very well be close. You're going to do well over the last 6 years picking Winnipeg each week and this year they are already 3 and 0. VA hasn't thrown a TD pass yet this season.

Did somebody tell Arbuckle this was the Grey Cup or something.
-
Im not just sure how much impact he had on Streveler's week 1 performance if he wasn't really around. Hogan would deserve the credit in that case.
-
I thought coach Jackson missed training camp? What was that situation about?
-
Ive been really surprised at how bad the Elk's D has looked considering the talent . Hoping they don't gel this week. But I think Tre will be good for atleast one pick six vs our D.
-
In the same spirit that keeps listing Ayes at defensive end we can list Eli and Streveler at slot.
-
Im not sure that Cooley was added last week over depth fears but more that they wanted to take a look at him. It might always have been part of the plan to start the American guard in week one because they weren’t confident at that point if Nuefeld was going to be able to play the whole game. After he did they were more comfortable going with Nuefeld and Wallace as the guards the following week and got Cooley on the roster. I hope he has a larger role this week. Other than the fumble and recovery he looked pretty good and out performed Peterson.

Darren Bauming 20 mins ago Brady Oliveira will miss a second straight game. We should know more on Nic Demski’s status when the #Bombers release their game roster tomorrow morning. #BonfireFtb

There's always somebody like Jamie Nye who tries to be a hero. Its nothing more than that.

Even less points if you subtract garbage time points.

In the current depth chart how do we know which backups are Americans vs designated imports?

Masoli without maneuverability plays into the strength of our defence. Lots of dbs in coverage he will be forced to release the ball quickly or get taken down and it can take guys time to get open against this scheme. Does Ayers actually get snaps at defensive end or is this just depth chart spin?
