I'm going to be pretty disappointed if Randolph gets relegated to a backup role. Let Neufeld rest his old body until he's needed and keep starting Randolph who's our best guard. Especially if he is going to be on the roster anyways you might as well start him. He's and upgrade over any of our canadians.

Dinwiddie is a good coach but he really makes game day decisions based on emotions.

To my memory Streveler only ran during the more obvious 2nd and long situations.

I'm pleasantly surprised with how well the bombers came out and played. Usually on labor day the Riders get an uncanny boost that we can't match. This one played out like a regular football game and until Zach got injured Winnipeg dominated. Its hard to tell if our offensive line was playing well in pass protect or if it was more a case of Zach getting rid of the ball very quickly. We would have won handily had Zach not been taken out on the cheap shot. Its annoying how handle Streveler when he's in. I feel like if he could at least attempt a few passes of more than 10 yards down field it might open up the run game a bit more. Our strategy against the 2nd best run defense in the league was to make it obvious we were going to run on every down and then do so poorly. It was also annoying how they used the idea of Streveler running on first down as a decoy the entire 2nd half and never actually let him do it once they were keying on BO. I think its quite obvious that Streveler's use is a Lapo vs Buck Pierce thing. It was quite revealing during that broadcast when Lapo mentioned he would have had Streveler throw the ball on 2nd and short. I think if Lapo were here we'd be doing a lot more with Streveler than we are. We use him less than we used Prukop in gadget plays and we probably have him passing the ball less than we would had done with Prukop when he's in the game in place of a injured Collaros. It was probably the right strategy for this game to trust the defense but its irritating we don't get Streveler a chance to grow as a passer. If Zach can't go next week we will have to let Streveler pass the ball more. However, I personally think Zach is out for very precautionary reasons and that he will play this week. If he was actually failing all kind of concussion protocols he wouldn't have stood alone on the sidelines catching players as they came out of bounds. At what point do we stop putting Bighill back in when he's healthy enough to do so? He's pretty much at the point on his career where he can't finish a game. I really like this Jones at linebacker. He's a keeper.

Nothing ever changes with the Riders. I'm surprised he didn't do a cut throat gesture after the hit.

I don’t have a lot of hope especially with Bryant out and the team deciding to make two changes on the offensive line rather than leaving Randolph were he was been dominant and starting the American from our practice roster at left tackle.

Manu the offensive lineman that we drafted last year made the Detroit Lions 53 man roster. They will continue to develop him. Here’s an interesting film study on how he did in preseason games this year. Seems the be more of a pass then run blocker at this stage of things.

I don't disagree that the issue for a while had been an inability to get a single first down. But sometimes i think that can be a bit of a mental thing when you need 10 first down it can be hard to get 1. Getting good field position can provide a mental boost that helps an offence out of a rut.

It's really surprising to me that we wouldn't have directed him to give up the point there. If so then that's on coaching and not Whitehead.

Its not something i could understand if true. We had been battled for field position for several drives already and finally had a chance to get it back and the point was highly likely to be irrelevant.

Also.. is it time to bring back Chris Smith onto the roster? With Brady being banged up again there's the risk of him leaving the game and we need more than just Johnny O... Whitehead could replace JJ and Smith could replace Whitehead in the return game and backup at runningback. I don't actually think Whitehead is a wise returner anyways. He doesn't dart in and try and grab balls (😇) which would obviously lead to a no yards call whether he catches it or not. Instead letting them bounce and losing the team an easy 20 yards. With all his years experience he also screwed up when returning that missed field goal out of the endzone which really put us in a situation where we needed a unlikely drive to win when we could have been in a position to just pick up 30 yards for the win.

Kolo seems to need the support of Randolph at guard to play at an acceptable level. I hope if Bryant can't go that we start Vanterpool at LT and Randolph back to guard. I wonder if we end up brining in a Canadian offensive lineman this week who can get ready to backup and be on the double TE formation? Or do we convert someone like Schmekel, Davis, or Sampson??

As frustrating as O'Shea is for always taking the points and always running the boring less aggressive clock management late in games with the lead... Other coaches around the league look pretty emotional these days for some of their un-Oshea-like decisions. Not only this game but the riders coached themselves out of a win. Instead of taking a sack on the 1 you run the ball twice and there's likely no time on the clock when Toronto returns the ball and they likely aren't quite in field goal range either. Dinwiddie also looked bad for not taking more field goals. Looked like an offensive head coach who was more frustrated with his offence then he was trying to win a game.

The problem with the new reply interpretation is that now we have no idea what to challenge or not. We have to imagine what they might think is obvious and what is not. Before you would challenge when there was video evidence of an incorrect call.

It almost seems like the versatility of Adams worked against him in his battle with Woods. He was able to fill in with the need at DE and now that there's no need well Woods has established himself as the starter. Where are we at with Canadian receivers? Desmki went down. Is it possible neither Woli or Desmki will go next week and we may be looking at adding another import there?

I don't disagree. I also like Adams a lot and hopefully this is the opportunity for him to go back in.
