Top line really needed to bounce back after two awful games in Eastern Canada. They played well yesterday. Hellebuyck came up huge, too. Still cause for concern, though.

A lot of panic among fans at the moment. Some of it way over the top. And there isn't something missing from last season. The team is more or less in the same position as it was a year ago, the difference now being other teams know they're a threat and have made adjustments. The Jest can't rest on their laurels and I'm sure they're not. Every team goes through low points during a regular season campaign. There is no question they (players and coaches) need to address the issue and find a way to get back on track, but the "trade player A" or "try and get player B" comments aren't solutions. Now is the time to re-tune the powerplay. Teams have keyed in on what made it successful. Now is the time to get back to playing smart defensive hockey. The top two lines have been terrible in their own end for a while now.

Even more so if it means the Riders end up with nothing but garbage behind centre.
