Nope not about you.  I actually like you PJ. I will kindly recommend you read the thread and you will clearly see who 66 and I were talking about.

In the meantime i will assume that you are sorry for the comments made to 66 and I. BTW, without going back into it you didn't prove jackshit wrong about what I said. We just agreed to disagree and let it go.

Lets not bring that crap over here.

If pj wants to....let him.   Im sure someone here will take care of it.

    They will figure it out.

I find it amusing when people say RW and LW don't matter. While there are some players who excel at their off wing and some who can play both effectively it's obviously important. It's why the Hawks wanted a top six LW and not a top six RW.

Dano can play both. So he can be slotted where it's easiest for the Jets or the Jets area of need. Id expect it to not really matter until next season really.

The jets have had a few guys that play both sides including Ehlers and Stafford. But you never saw ladd or wheeler playing their off wing.

If the player plays on the left but shoots right they will still take the player.

Dano is more comfortable playing RW so you'd want him to be as comfortable as possible wouldn't you? He's at his best on the right side.

Enstrom won't be around for another year, never mind more after his current deal expires. He's going to be traded. If he is on this team next year, I'd be surprised.

Heres the deal, Why keep stafford around? he's not part of the future, when he's not scoring, he's doing nothing, he brings his entire line down.

You look at the Jets LW and RW depth now... where does stafford fit? Like it or not, the Jets are going with the youth, but they do have some vets in there, they gave this veteran group of players 5 almost 6 years to see what they can do and what they got was eliminated in 4 playoff games then regressed huge time this season. Not all of that is on the veterans obviously since Buff and Wheeler are having a great year individually.

You can pretty much pencil Connor in next year

LW Ehlers, Connor,Perreault <-- no particular order

RW Wheeler,Armia,Dano <-- no particular order again

Where does Stafford fit? He doesn't. If somebody has interest in him, get what you can for him and move on.

You focus on the RH-LH thing to much. Lots of these guys can play either. Its not a huge concern and you dont move players because of it.

You also dont move players till you actually really need to. Id rather not rush everything.

Ehlers, Copp. Armia are still pretty much rookies. Add Lowry, Schief, Trouba are just young yet. Id rather not loose more vets and add in more young guys just yet.

His name has been out there, so since he does have a NMC which is pretty irrelevant really, it means he's either been asked by the Jets or he's asked the Jets to trade him.

His name is out there, was linked to Pittsburgh a while back actually, and that was confirmed. They went another route but his name is out there.

I think going to an Eastern Conference team would be best for Toby also.

I don't think he gets you a first round pick back but he probably gets you a 2nd and a pretty good prospect (probably a d prospect at that)

Why isn't Myers being traded? If they sign, or when they sign Trouba, you are gonna need him to play behind Buff as the 2 RHD... making Myers expendable, Myers has a nice cap friendly contract, which to the Jets who aren't going to be spending to the cap is irrelevant but to some teams, that's a gold mine right there.

I've always been under the impression that you trade from positions of strength to upgrade positions of weakness, right now, this teams strength is it's RHD side. Buff is signed, he going nowhere. Trouba is their draft pick from what 4 years ago? who just turned what? 22 today? They ain't gonna trade him, not a chance. Myers by process of elimination is that guy.

Hamonic would be nice but, quite frankly, we don't really need him, he's another RHD guy so at best, that's a lateral move.

Myers is the guy and Myers probably does bring you a first plus more.

Dude...  You dont trade a guy just because the RHD and LHD thing. Both Trouba and Buff can play either side Maurice has said that many times.

The only real time it matters is if its a stay at home Dman.... If hes a puck moving guy it dont matter what side they play as much as you think.

Some guys actually like playing the other side.

Ive never heard Toby wants out. Not saying its not true just never heard anything. If the Jets asked him hed have to supply his list of teams and id think that would come out pretty quick if so. Tobys a pretty popular player id think this would be more news then his name is out there.   No?

Maatta has injury concerns, Trouba IMO is better than Maatta actually, Troubas fancy stats are very good,  you take trouba away from that anchor mark stuart and he's putting up way better numbers. I think they will go long term on trouba and i think he will get around 5.5 a year.

And i think that's a fair deal, I also think Myers will be traded and I think Enstrom will be moved also, Myers is more of a draft deal, possibly for Hamonic and Enstrom could be moved by monday or near the draft. I don't see the Jets keeping them.

Enstrom makes way 2 much money for what he brings and there is some talk that he has asked to be traded.

He has a NMC...  Id like to see where you heard that.

Hamonics agent and the Islanders have said he wont be moved till the offseason.

Myers wont be moved... hes a solid player young and hes got a super friendly contract.

Not sure where all this trade talk comes from...  Its not Chevys gig to make trades just to make trades.

I doubt your PK is set up differently depending on who your goalie is. So, what you are saying is if Hutch is playing, they play the PK differently? If PAV is playing they play it differently? Nope, sorry. It's the same PK, same system. I mean, just watch the games and you will see they play the PK the same way regardless of who is in net.

The only difference the goalie makes on the PK is he either makes the save or he doesn't.

Yes thats what im saying. It also depends on the team your playing. Not all teams set up their PP the same so you adjust.

  8. 20 minutes ago, Jimmy Pop said:

No doubt about that... has to get better, just has to.

That I've never heard before. Not doubting you...just interesting.

It kinda works like this.....  A guy like Pav is known to give up big rebounds and hes not a big talker on the ice. Big rebounds you play a tighter box, you may also put players on that are better at moving bodys. So your putting out your biger players or putting them in different spots. Also Pav does not talk alot so hes not really directing his players or traffic as much as a guy like Hutch or Helle. They like to talk and direct traffic. It also depends on how good your goalie is with the puck. If he can control the puck and make passes then the players know when he has it they all can go.

Wiecek reported just last week that Vincent & Huddy used to be in charge of PP&PK respectively, but now, as far as he can tell it's all on Maurice.

Personally, I take that to mean; after years of subpar special teams we now recognize it all falls on the head coach.

Biggest area of improvement needed for next season.  If we get even average PP & PK, and Helle plays like he did this year....playoffs? Playoffs.

Could be but i would highly doubt it. Maurice could add in some things id guess.

Your PK sets up different depending on your goalie also.

I think Jets management is reading the tea leaves when it comes to where the game is going, which is skill over size.  Jets seemed to go after size initially and then started going for skill and not being shy about smaller players.  It really is more about how you play and Dano sounds like he'd fit in perfectly with what management hopes will be "Jets Hockey" - skill, tenacity, effort, grit.  if he's 214lbs now and 21 years old, he might still put on a few more pounds anyway.  I wouldnt worry about it.

Pretty much following the Hawks model.

Maurice. He's the coach.  It's his system. Assistants have a say in somethings.

Let's just use Flaherty as an example. He would probably tell Maurice who he thinks should play goal thus particular game. Maurice could take that advice or not.

The pp tho.  I think part of it is we lack that elite high end talent.

    Dallas has Benn and Seguin.

    Wash has Ovi.

We don't have players of that nature. Our guys like to pass it around all day and never shoot. Thats on the players

I could be wrong but he doesnt tell Maurice who to play. Thats not his job. He will inform Maurice if a guys banged up or hurting but thats it.

His job is to coach them. Help them with their weaknesses n such. Helps them with position play.
