  1. Faith Ekakitie, Drake Nevis, Roc Carmichael - busts Sam Hurl, Kyle Knox, - carry-over busts Westerman, Leggett, Randle, Heath, - linchpins for the defense are all in the 30's. there time is now if you want to win. Point is that there was talent available once NFL cuts started and before the trade deadline. Other teams improved where the Bomber didn't. Edmonton, Saskatchewan, Hamilton, and Ottawa brought in improved talent over what they had. It is possible that the Bombers were out there negotiating for players but none were brought in.
  2. Injuries and lack of execution on defence will be the excuse when the real reason is the team did nothing to improve their talent base until injuries occurred. This one is on Walters who did nothing to improve talent on the defensive side of the ball. Everyone in the CFL new the Bombers were going to have a rough defence but somehow Walter's thought it was good enough. The talent on defense was never there and the scheme has been horrible. In the summer the offense was flying but now that it got cold, you need a strong defence to stop the run and 3rd down and 3 plays. The bad teams in the league got better, the Bombers just stopped and watched.
  3. Pulling a Thorpe Definition: Walking away from an opportunity as a result of ones heightened self-belief in their abilities; only to realize you are worth nothing more than Rider-fodder.
  4. It's simple. If Harris reaches 1000/1000 it means we win the cup this year. My rational is if he makes that goal, we win football games. It also means the offense is scoring pretty consistently and there is solid ball distribution between him and Flanders and receivers. As Harris gets closer to that goal, other team will be gunning to stop him. Also, this will mean we have won out the season posting a 15-3 record. The Bombers will finally be taken serious as a contender and will be the team Calgary has to beat to make it to the cup.
  5. 30 perfect tackles in practice don't equal 30 perfect practices in a game. The game is evolving and tackling needs to be apart of the evolution. Look at Rugby and how there is a move towards the rugby style of tackling (grabbing the player and rolling with them) in football instead of the traditional football style (hitting them hard and knocking them down). This is being taught at entry level club football today. I am in favor of the change.
  6. LaPo isn't going anywhere right now , I believe he is quite committed to being closer to his young family, especially with his wife and her family being from Winnipeg and lets not forget Joke Mack in Mtl. The dynamics are not there. As for Thorpe, he is not going to sign with any team this season. Fired, but still being paid by Mtl for the remainder of the season, so why would he jump to sign with a team mid-season when he could receive multiple offers in the off-season.
  7. Sorry but the whole Rider organization and its fans are laughable. Jones fined to the amount of $250K, makes repeated comments about other coaches being classless and spying on his team, yet has players "pull up lame" to counter Bombers no-huddle offense. Was almost sent out of town by rail just 3 weeks ago, today he is the greatest football mind in the history of the world. Carter kicked off the Als for being a self centered crap starting Adonis. Takes the show to Sask and instantly becomes a model citizen who was berated by big bad Bomber fans (lots of people at the game but not witnesses or evidence has come forward to support the claim). Rider fans display constant etiquette when visiting other teams stadiums and when people from Winnipeg come to Sask, they are "the worst fans in the world" rude and obnoxious. Most of the band wagon jumpers making those comments are from Sask and they conveniently ignore all the other fans across the league giving examples of Rider fans being rude, obnoxious crap makers in their stadiums. What a joke.
  8. Riders are a big play team right now, they worry me because they have beat some pretty good teams (given that those teams have also endured significant injury). The Bomber have not blown anyone out this season, other than maybe Hamilton (depends what you view a blow out), but the Bomber have shown their ability to rise to the occasion and fight back from some tough wins. LDC will come down to one thing and that is character. Which ever team can control emotion and play football will win. In my opinion, the scale tips in favor of the Bombers. 4 (or however many, lost count) come from behind or last play wins shows what a team is made of. Big spread wins with cocky showboating attitudes usually proves to be disastrous when you are in a close game. The Rides have not had a character win (shown what the team is made of) this season, but they have lost a couple of games in the dying seconds cause they couldn't keep their emotions in check and choked. Mikey O will have the Bomber ready to play (mentally and physically). Jones will have he Riders ready to play as well, but with his typical arrogance. Jones lacks character and that reflects in the team he coaches. Bomber win a close one simply because they play as a team focused on a win, not as an individual trying to gain the spotlight.
  9. Kendial Lawrence - any benefit for us to take a run at him? Does he add some Canadian depth even if just a practice roster guy to start? Keep hoping we get Quincy back, but things don't seem too realistic at this point that we do.
  10. Sorry to play the downer here folks but none of the predicted standings are achievable, mathematically anyway. 9 teams X 18 games / by 2 (win or loss) = 81 total games to be played in a regular season. That means for standing to be accurate there has to be a equal number of wins and losses at the end of the season (81 wins and 81 losses). Checking the standings people have offered and their numbers don't add up. Check my math and I think I am correct. Yeah I know, I am a number nerd, feel free to mock me.
