  1. Past hour
  2. Then minus a few for the missed field goal touchdowns we will lose
  3. My mistake, that should have been 81 games... 9 teams, 18 games each, divided by 2 because each game is played by 2 teams. So 60 TDs over 81 games is only 0.74 TDs per game, so it's even worse than I thought.
  4. Today
  5. Consulting the players means talking to the PA. Not like everyone gets asked individually.
  6. It just shows why players weren’t consulted. Because you’re getting the opposite opinions from everyone they talk to. If they have interviewed 20 ppl, 10 are ok with it and 10 aren’t.
  7. One thing's for sure I don't think we'll ever see a marketing campaign like this again
  8. Nyquist had a few moments. Perfetti looks faster. Barlow was screaming bust last year but looks to have ability. He’s turning pro so hopefully has a strong year with the more veteran moose squad. I did read he concentrated more on D first last year and being in the right spot so maybe that’s part of it last year.
  9. Auburn actually brought the single wing back for a hot minute 9 or 10 years ago.
  10. Neuf is also turning 37 this year, and the biggest part of the rules won't start until 26—there's very little chance he'll play long enough to see them. One guy caring than others isn't much of a point either.
  11. 18 x 4 Missing the three 3-game weeks
  12. I thought Barlow looked good. Was in the right places a lot last night.
  13. Well, Bob. Patrick Neufeld isn't upset with the changes & is willing to give them a chance. What say you, Bob? He's not upset he wasn't consulted. about it.
  14. I won the Alberta provincial pee wee championship in 2009 as a coach using the Wing T. I had a talented 12 year old qb. I adapted the playbook from the qb being a spinner to doing RPO which he picked up & read beautifully. There was so much misdirection that we easily racked up 300 yards rushing every game. We were extremely lucky as we had 4 outstanding running backs starting. starters. We struggled the first couple of games going 2-3 But then going undefeated the rest of the way for the regular season, playoffs & championship game.
  15. People are so afraid of change. The league needs to adapt. Evolution is about adaptation.
  16. Strevellers problems are clearly that the goal posts are in the way, check back next year he will be mop
  17. This is a move to be able to play the game in the US where the money is. There's no money in Canada. The economy is in the crapper. People don't have a lot of spending money. A team in Halifax will bring in minimal new revenue. I think a merger is in the works here. If the UFL doesn't fold, the CFL may want to be a part of that, If it folds then they can put new CFL teams in stadiums down there. I saw a picture of the new CFL field fitting perfectly in the domed stadium in St. Louis. Which means it'll fit in almost every UFL stadium except (maybe) the one in Dallas that plays in a baseball stadium. .
  18. That's the big concern though, they're making these changes which will do nothing to attract new fans, while at the same time upsetting the existing ones. The rules are not and have never been the issue with regard to attracting and retaining fans. The effort that the marketing teams put in, the game day experience (see Winnipeg), and to an extent the results on the field (see Edmonton for the negative side) are what will bring people to the stadiums and drive revenue. Even if these rule changes did drive up the scoring and 50 points became a regular thing, it would do nothing to attract new fans. These changes are short sighted and lazy as far as I'm concerned.
  19. well they scored but the other guys are leading 2-1
  20. But a day later and like in the end it’s very minor change. Wonder how Many ppl in Toronto purchased seasons with these exciting innovative changes said nobody ever tho. Vince McMahons xfl was innovative tho. The cameras and the angles and the scramble at the start. That was fun changes looking to bring ppl In. The stuff they implemented the avg fan probably doesn’t give the poop about. How does this enhance my football viewing pleasure. These changes are probably a compromise of sorts to not go full American style. It almost seems like a win for traditional cfl fans. Cuz this is basically minor compared to what they could have announced. I would have liked to have been In the room tho when someone suggested that the elimination of missed fg returns will actually make the game more exciting. As TSN play by play dude orgasms loud on Vavals return. Honestly.
  21. This right here and speed here is a senior citizen. Dude gets it tho. You are alright @SpeedFlex27 i don’t get the doom and gloom. 4 downs is next… no it’s not.
  22. Looking good against the ahl team for sure.
  23. In its current form the cfl is only sustainable in Winnipeg and maybe Regina (lots of ppl dressed as green seats since Covid) and nowhere else. That appears to be the reality. I’m not sure how old you are, gonna assume late 30s early 40s… I’m in that range, we need to accept that the cfl can’t survive on us and dad really. You need the young ppl and that appears to be a problem league wide. Even here eventho it appears there are younger ppl there is lots of older ones like you and I are getting. Now do I think this attracts younger ppl? Hell to the no x 1000. Attracting ppl to games is market specific
  24. It's early, but I don't think Toews looks out of place at all... Certainly still has it on the dot. We'll see how many games he can play.
  25. The biggest issue is that this is clearly just the first step... They'll get people used to this and then move in to the spicier meatballs like the 4th down...
  26. Whether these changes are going to be good for Canadian football or not will need to be seen. Sometimes you just need to stir things up. The thing that bothers me though is they announced these major changes right in the most important time of the season so all the talk is flowing away from the last 1/4 of the season when all thought should be on playoff possibilities. Would have been a lot more effective to make this announcement in the off season and good or bad would get people talking about the game.
