  6. Zach threw the guy a touchdown pass that he wanted no part of. Then I am pretty sure he dropped elgersmas first pass attempt. Not impressed based on 1 game.
  7. Is Fredrickson this year's Mitchell? Training camp media darling that does absolutely zero in games?

  10. Yep. I’d line him up like an h-back, and motion him to and from the slot as well. Send him out in a fb alignment then send him to the slot. He isn’t a natural wr obviously but if he’s 1on1 with a mlber, with the waggle and his quicks he will be open on a hitch, out etc.
  11. that would leave us with with no kr, or only vaval as back up db, and no ayers. And with kyrie as a di behind jones and woodbey that would leave no reps for smith to take. We really need to make use of the naturalized american rule this year and shed some bodies at lber. Tj davis’ reps came late in the mess part of the game. would’ve been nice to see him get some kr reps and play with the 1s/2s more. Hopefully in game 2. Singer had a couple good throws into coverage that he came down with, as for route support and blocking it was a mess. It would really help if he is that kind of high support guy though. Demski opens a lot up for other guys and white will too. He hasn’t been cut yet, that i’ve seen. That elite get off and burst is soo rare I think it demands more time. He took two stupid penalties, but he is a rookie they will do that. I hope to see him get more reps in game 2. But he’d be on the short list of pr candidates for me, if he’s coach able.
  12. yeah....possibly to just see what he could do there in a pinch.....He is versatile and demon on teams...a demon on teams who can actually play...Much like Smith
  13. with the threat to take off when teams start to cheat...for big yards

  15. Singer can separate and make moves and cut at speed...and has burst..can caught all his balls....Fredrickson is horribly awkward footwork wise...has poor leaping ability...hence no real burst...slow for a WR....was totally lost on his fade route...dropped an easy ball...did he muff another? Corcoran is a shorter Canadian version of Fredriskson...Made a nice grab but he isn't really a viable starter option. I dont think Reese will be canned from that...rookie enthusiasm...U need to see if he is able to learn from that...Why cut a guy with obvious talent over that in first game...ever...If that was case Jamal Westerman would never had a career here as he was good for usually 1 or 2 dumb...easily avoidable penalties a game I was shocked he was let go...but also know he was injured early...practiced through it for a good week and was still impressive...He actually reminded me of Tony Norman...and if we could add a Tony Normal clone to go with WJ..Ceresna...Lawson..Dixon...Bailey..and Jenkins while Gatkoith is allowed to develop and not be overly relied on...we cookin up front he looks to be the ideal PR import lb as he fits the mold of a lot of what we utilze

  17. Today
  18. Perkins dinking and dunking to Demski/Brady could be deadly.
  19. I also want to see more of Davis on O. It's hard to get a clear picture on anyone's ability in pre-season games when watching. What'd I give to be in the film room and hear what the coaches are saying. Singer obviously stuck out. But what happened to make those plays work? Who did something a little extra if anything? etc etc. I know he's likely done...but I really liked Reese's burst. That guy could get after it, but he just needs to control himself a bit more.
  20. Interesting roster moves today. Booch you still got time to be right about Fletcher. I get the feeling they want to give reps to both Smith and Shay situationally.
  21. I think it makes the most sense to go Woodby-Jones-Griffin at linebacker with Wilson as a DI, Smith getting regular reps and Shay in reserve. Then a DI on the DLine, 1 at K and 1 at CB.
  22. Once they figure out how to, and to actually, use MCI he will be an X factor. I'm thinking there is no realistic way we use Shay at SAM. My thinking is that Younger didn't want to show too much but they wanted to see if and where Shay could go as a 4th Lber in a 3-4 defence. They blitzed him, they used him in coverage out of the SAM. My thinking tho, is that IF Shay goes in on a 3-4 it would be because he brings some versatility.
  23. Another interesting guy is Jakobe clinton. He had that sick pick 6, and didn't do a lot else. But he's another very athletic tweener lber with great playmaking instincts. He might well be worth keeping around as a PR developmental piece. Hes listed much smaller than college here, but he had lots of success pass rushing and blitzing in college as well. Surprised we didn't see more of Ayers on D in game 1, wonder if hes knicked up.
  24. I'm not opposed to starting Smith at WIL. However I think Woodbey would be the next man. If we do that, then I'd replace K. Wilson with another import DT where we're really thing. The whole nationalized import is of limited value IMO. The players listed ( except Wilson ) will be starting virtually every down barring injury. It's of value if you have a veteran as a back up but it comes at the cost of another import that could give more reps without any count limitation. Smith didn't get many reps on defence last year. Going from that to starting regardless of upside is interesting and pros may outweigh cons. I think Singer made the AR on the weekend even if that was still in question before the game. He's just way better and more versatile than Cobb or Corcoran.
  25. Have to keep the new Aussie punter....this guy can BOOM them.....O'Shea has a dillema ...go with real new found talent or stick with the status quo.....
  26. None of the groups' run blocking was remotely good enough. I very much expect to see a drastic improvement and Eli taking a lot more snaps at C in the first half of the 2nd game. Bryant was worrisome to me in pass pro, though he didn't play long. Vanterpool looked like he took a 2 year step backwards, which is a big disappointment. Elsbury was brutal in run blocking. Wallace gave up a big speed rush at T early but settled in pretty good after that. I wonder if he isn't too big to play T for an entire game though. Vibert was solid, Id like to see more of him at C. Poncious and Pares were average in pass pro and poor in run blocking. Mazzccua is a freaking tank. Id keep him around to develop. Rando picked up where he left off last year. Very good pass pro, solid run blocking. He needs more touches than the 3rd/4th Canadian WR. Move him around and get him the ball off screens and any way possible.
  27. Those DL were both injured too. Honestly think the bigger problem here is the culture around "injuries" and missing practice but it's not Bomber specific, kind of more of a Late millenial/Gen Z problem. Like all these new guys see the big dogs hanging out on the sideline and move to join them instead of competing. Wonder if they get it when they get cut. Or sometimes if there's advantage given to guys who flash but are consistently not out there (well I feel like I can answer that one, YES, especially for a spot no one else has really jumped on).
  28. on a different note...based on the big gallop last yr...and the run on Saturday where it looked like he was shot out of a cannon...Calling it now with that size and crazy speed...and more usage...I bet MCI rips off one of...if not the longest run from scrimmage from a RB in league this yr...
  29. I think Perkins is the best option at QB2 for now...and if he is hope he gets real reps throughout the season too, as it will just get him acclimated that much quicker....but for his minimal time here...and working behind and with garbage for most part looked pretty comfortable I not as anti arm strength against hi as some...he has more than an adequate arm, and you dont need a howitzer to succeed, you need touch...be able to throw a guy open and place a ball....if he can master that, to go with his ability on the ground and I can see him being lethal with that up here we should be just fine as TE learns and develops And with this maybe being ZC swan song a more developed and capable Perkins who could possibly shows he is a legit starter rolling into 2027 camp allows us to not force feed TE into the fracass if he not really quite ready yet...and destroying his confidence...dude is young and licked up for 3 yrs...no need to rush it...let him grab it legitimately
  30. and the ability to have Vaval and Singer back together on kickoffs and could be a pick your poison scenario too if they try to kick away from one..or other
  31. Thats right holm as well, forgot about him. Oh O white could be one as well. We know now (I hope) the importance of a viable back up returner. Boy we suffered for a bit after grant left.
  32. That's how I see it too. Think Perkins is the guy you go to as the #2 option now, how long depends on how quickly (assuming he does) Elgersma develops.
  33. I'm invested in good OL play. Nothing more. Eli missed two blocking assignments during the game. Are you suggesting that was a figment of my imagination? C'mon man. I want Eli to do well, he needs to sharpen his pencil and that has nothing to do with anything I've said about him in the past. The proof is in the pudding. I absolutely believe Eli is good enough, what I'm seeing is not a lack of natural ability but brain cramps that need to be rectified. Perkins, does have a better command of the offence but yea...not the strongest passer out there. I have no doubt that Elgersma is the better QB in time, but right now not so much. That could change quickly given TE's natural abilities. Just needs to get used to things. Didn't love the run blocking by the 2nd group OL. That will need to be a lot better. That's a part of the game that really shouldn't require a lot of time or chemistry to be high level if you have high level run blockers.
  34. All I ever see from Smith is making plays. Be criminal not to give him reps. Do you not want Canadian play makers?
  35. Holm Boi qualifies too...Smith starting at WIL would not hurt us in the least and he would only just get better and better....Thats how you develop...game reps at game speed, and he already shown he has that down...no he needs to just stack reps Griffin at SAM too is gonna really make us a tough defence.....and Woodbey is just gonna keep getting better and better...which is such a bonus cause he already is really good Yeah....of we start 3 ot has to be Demski...and Clercius and Neild in the slot...Clercius in his reps at slot showed he is more than capable and offers us a lot there...getting him rolling in space with the ball he is gonna be punishing to DB's and later in a game they gonna be nicely tenderized...If we start 3 and the 3rd is Corcoran outside...somebody needs to be shot But ideally 3 imports and 2 Canadians with Clercius/Demski/Neild as your main 3 is our best lineup...Songer right now has to be the front runner, and his return ability has to be an ace in hole for him too....Dude looks like a return TD on the making...Looks better than Vaval did early on camp last yr, and look what he did
