Around The NHL 2016/2017

time for a new thread for a new season that begins today. Canada Day. Free Agent Frenzy.

Will the Jets trade Trouba?  Will they resign Scheif to an 8 year deal?

Will Boston, as heavily rumoured, offer sheet Trouba?  What about the rumours of the Jets in a three way deal with Edmonton and Avs?

Stay tuned!

  • This really pisses me off.  Teams like the Blues, Habs, and Bruins all hit a slight speed bump and they have no hesitation whatsoever in replacing the coach.  The Jets suck year-in and year-out and th

  • Where did Bill get $395 million?!?

  • What an idiot.  I have no patience for things like that.  Should be zero tolerance, 100-game ban for first offence, lifetime for second.  That's not an accident, that's not something that just happens

Sounds like a GM giving his coach a vote of confidence!

"Pack your bags, dear, we're moving to Seattle!"

The denials are moot.  Bettman literally denied there was even an inkling of the Thrashers moving to Winnipeg while simultaneously, True North's lawyers were preparing the purchase.  I think the Coyotes probably do stay in Arizona because somehow they will get a sweet deal and the NHL has already bent over backwards to give them money.

Pretty sure the Glendale Star can sue.

LeBrun is saying the Stars are having preliminary talks with the Pens about Fleury.

I hope they get him so Lawless will shut his mouth about the Jets geting him.

Fleury has worse numbers than Helle on a better team signed for big money. That's an easy pass for the Jets.  Plus it's been reported that The Jets are on his list of teams that he WON'T agree to be traded to

Lawlesss said that?? It makes no sense. Fleury has, what 2-3 years left?? Not a chance

The no trade thing isn't insurmountable in that it doesn't mean the jets wouldn't want him. They could always reach out to the agent and try and change minds. But really I don't see Jets being interested. And I'm a fleury fan.

Lawless is pushing the idea the jets will get a new #1. Time will tell

Lawless is pushing any idea that will deflect blame from Maurice...

Cause he's 32? Ship, Brodeur was good until 40.

The Jets are on every no-trade list in the league, I'm sure.

If you can choose from 31 cities then it's a no brainer that the small, cold, high tax, low success teams will be on the no go list.

But if the Jets were a cup contender things would be different for many players

No. Because he's worse than helle on a better team.

Agreed. He's a key piece

How much does Little get his next contract and for how long? He'll be 30 when this one is done. Five years might be too long but I doubt he signs for less term. 5.25m x 4? Twenty-one million is pretty good for 4 years. The thing is, I think he is playing the best hockey of his career right now but still don't hink I would sign him for 5 years.

3 years for 15 mil?

at where? Little Cesars? selling the teams to a city in Quebec? (hey when you think about it two birds one stone, MTL gets their Expos back and QC  gets the Nords) gift shops?
