Jets Prospects

Kyle Connor has 48 point in 27 games an average of 1.7787 points per game .

Dylan Larkin had 47 points in 35 games for the same team last year for an average of 1.343 points per game .

Jack Eichel had 71 points in 40 games in his last year of college for  an average of 1.775 points per game .

I see Connor making the team in the fall and actually signing in March and getting a couple of weeks on the Jets roster at the end of the season.

I am hoping to see Connor on one wing with Wheeler or Ehlers or Armia on the other wing with Scheif or Matthews at center.

Going forward... Connor Scheif Wheeler Armia Ehlers and Matthews/Laine/Puljujärvi look like a pretty solid top 6 for a few years.

Lemieux, Roslovic, Petan, Copp, Lowry, Harkins, De Leo,  Lipon, and Spacek will be fighting for roster spots sooner or later.

We have Comrie and Helle and Phillips for depth in goal and look to be set for some time.

Our D, on the other hand, needs some help on the depth. Besides Morrissey, there isn't much coming up the pike on the left hand side and I fully expect the Jets to take some LHD at this draft or trade for one by this time next year. There is Sami Niku and not much else. The RHD right now is very good but not a great deal coming up the pike. Hopefully Kostalek makes the team in at least a 3rd pairing position and hopefully Glover and/or Poolman and/or Nogier turn out.

7th round pick by the jets in 2017.

Petan v2

I was thinking Kailer Yamomoto......but yeah......interesting prospect. Always curious if guys that size can make the jump to pro. Gotta be real fast, and real shifty (see: Kane, Patrick) in order to make it at that size...

Another prospect doing well

20 years old. 6’2. 187lbs. From Brandon.

Plays for Prince Albert. Chosen 5th round in 2016.

Should have a good Moose team for a long time if any D prospects come through...

Think Niku will be with the big club next year - not sure who is in line after him though

Like I said 'IF' they come through - only sure thing I see there is Samberg...  everyone else COULD be sleeper picks except Glover, he's done.

Coincidentally,. here is a story about Jack Glover today.  Too bad he didnt work out.  Jets never offered him a contract.  So he will be come a free agent this year if they dont.

Stanley's ceiling may be debatable but there's no doubt he will be in the system for a significant amount of time.

Exactly.  There is no "if".  He will play for the Moose.

Well if you say he's absolutely not going to get injured or flop... I guess that settles it.  Whew...!!

Our last project with enormous upside was Jack Glover...

Thats true but Jack was never offered a contract.  Logan is under contract.  Jack was a 3rd round pick.  Logan is a 1st.  A better comparison to Jack might be Cederholm who was drafted in the 4th round and is also not under contract but has upside.

NCAA... different development...  Poolman, Copp, etc didn't get early contracts either iirc

Anyway, unless something drastic happens the Jets have a solid AHL core... hopefully Samberg and one other can make the jump to NHL

So will Green. He signed an ELC. Cedarholm looks like a bust.

Cedarholm is pretty much a bust.

He's going to "flop" between now and next September?  No, he will be a Moose.  You're just being difficult for the sake of it.

He also signed an ELC. He will be a Moose or part of a trade.

You're getting 'play' and be good mixed up...  I'm sure all these guys will play for the Moose at some point...  just like Blomqvist and Kostalek...

Right now, the only guy looking like he has a shot at being a top AHL or 3rd pair NHL defence man is Samberg...  the rest are all question marks whatever we want to believe...

The rest may be great, may be ok or may be nothing...  again, hence the 'if'...

No, Stanley will be a top pairing guy for the Moose, at least for the year until he joins the Jets for the rest of his career.

I didnt like the Stanley pick but... I could see him being a darn good 3rd pairing type of D altho with Niku and Samberg.. Stanley could be part of a trade... Who knows but he signed his ELC and is having a pretty good year so far.
