December 16, 201510 yr Story so far... -Game time 7PM Friday -Helle to start -Ladd/Buff still unsigned -Stuart to cause consternation among fans -NYR played night before
December 16, 201510 yr I think Hutch will start too. b2b on Mon-Tue and I expect Helle will play first or both.
December 16, 201510 yr Sara Orlesky ✔ @saraorlesky No Scheifele, Wheeler or Enstrom at #NHLJets practice Lowry sent to Moose.
December 18, 201510 yr Peluso is sitting and Hali is playing with Armia and Copp. I like sitting Peluso and seeing as this is Armia's first game and Copp's first season, I guess we should have somebody on the line with some experience..... Interested in what Armia can do. He was a pretty big part of that trade and was drafted #16 the same year Scheifele was drafted. He did well in the AHL and Sabres' fans thought he wasn't being called up because the team was tanking and didn't want anyone doing really well. Since he's been traded his points have dwindled. He's only 22 but he's got to start impressing Maurice. I don't expect the 4th to get much more than 7 or so minutes so he's got to keep his mistakes to a minimal. They say he plays inconsistent but if he is going to see only 7 minutes, he'd better be working his ass off every shift. If the Jets play well and/or win some games, I think we won't see Lowry until after 2015.
December 18, 201510 yr Roster Freeze is very soon. Lowry will be with the Moose until the New Year at the very least. I think he will be there for a while longer actually. They want him to play Center, He's not gonna Center the 4th line... That's Copps job and he's damn good at it.... So Lowry will be brought back up when, I'm calling it now, When Burmi is traded as part of a package with Ladd Buff or Enstrom.
December 18, 201510 yr Considering they would lose that trade then, I don't think so. Man, you sure love the fantasy trade stuff.
December 18, 201510 yr I think they are going to package up Burmi with Ladd and Lowry for J Staal. Throw in Stuart and we can get Stamkos!
December 19, 201510 yr Jets playing well. Really well actually. PP looks good. PK looks good too. More aggressive it seems. 3-1 after 1. Will say, That was a bad lazy penalty by Ladd. Stop doing that Captain.
December 19, 201510 yr Look at that eh, Put Copp with some guy with talent and that line looks more dangerous. Who would have thought that.
December 19, 201510 yr Little 2 goals. Wheeler 2 assists. Ladd 2 penalties. Good Job Captain Oops. 3 A's for Wheeler now. Damn, that means Ladd is gonna get another penalty. Man, Ehlers is having himself a solid game. 4th line looking really good too.
December 19, 201510 yr Author Little 2 goals. Wheeler 2 assists. Ladd 2 penalties. Good Job Captain Thorbs and Ladd traded places to start 3rd according to Sun/Wiebe. Nice
December 19, 201510 yr Author Helle is so slow to respond some times. Puck is to his right...waits ... waits...turns. Scary.
December 19, 201510 yr Really enjoyed tonight's game and I haven't been able to say that in a long time. Still need to find some one to play with Ehlers and Burmi but well played by the Jets tonight.
December 19, 201510 yr Armia looked really good and Hali had some jump in his step. Armia looked good in his own zone and not bad against the boards too. He should get Roberts' phone number off of Scheifele though. He looks pretty lanky.
December 19, 201510 yr Now.....where is that guy that said that Maurice has lost control of the room?
December 19, 201510 yr Jets played well. Let's keep in mind tho that the Rangers played last night. Until they can put multiple wins in a row together.... let's just hold off on saying anything. All I will say is they played really good tonight. Thought armia and hali played well but according to the fancy Stats they didn't. Personally I am not a big fan of the fancy stats stuff... to me it seems like a bunch of nerds who never played hockey trying to rely 2 much on stats. I've always liked the eye test more and the entire team... besides Ladd and his 2 dumb penalties passed it. The teams GAD level was also quite high. Give A Damn level lol. More important than the fancy stats in my opinion
December 19, 201510 yr Enjoyable game. The kind of game the Jets have to play to win. Skate, hit, forecheck. Repeat. Lots of chances, lots of missed targets. Typical Buff "being there" penalty. Lots of ice time for Trouba, Byfuglien and Myers. Don't bring up trading Myers..he looks good. Line juggling, with Thorburn handling it. That Wheeler guy is good. The young guys looked good, especially Ehlers. What flavour gum does Maurice prefer?
December 19, 201510 yr If not for Hank and some missed shots, this could have been a really bad blowout. The Jets could have scored another 3-4 goals in that game. What did Buff get a penalty for? He didn't even drop his gloves!
December 19, 201510 yr Sun For the second time in three games, Paul Maurice sent a message to one of his leaders, though he wasn't about to publicly take him to task. After sitting down defenceman Dustin Byfuglien for a good chunk of the second period against the Chicago Blackhawks last week after taking a pair of minor penalties, the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets took captain Andrew Ladd off the top line for most of the third period in Friday's 5-2 win over the New York Rangers. Ladd had an otherwise effective game, chipping in an empty-net goal and an assist while his line was in on four of the five goals. However, after taking a tripping minor late in the first period and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty during the second period that eventually led to a power-play goal from Dan Boyle, Ladd found himself bumped to the third unit with Alex Burmistrov and Nikolaj Ehlers to start the third period. “Just some housekeeping,” said Maurice, when asked about the rationale behind the decision. “That's the word I used and I'm sticking to it too.” Ladd was asked about the change in linemates as well. “It's something that's between me and the coach,” said Ladd. “I'm sure he wasn't happy about that penalty.” For what it's worth, Ladd didn't sound off to the officials on the play and actually slashed Rangers defenceman Marc Staal behind the play on the way to the bench, which led to the penalty call. Either way, it's the type of undisciplined penalty the Jets are trying to eliminate from their collective game. Thorburn, meanwhile, earned the promotion on a night he became the franchise leader in games played at 595, passing Ilya Kovalchuk for top spot. ken.wiebe@sunmedia.ca Twitter.com/WiebeSunSports
