NHL Draft is approaching soon, so thought I'd start an official thread to discuss the draft and any trades that happen between now and then.

How good is Barzal?

So Boston traded just to have mid round picks... weird.

 

New GM in Boston.  He is putting his stamp on that team.

 

Rebuild is coming there.  Their window has come and gone.

Barzal at 17 would be a huge steal, very talented player but might drop due to an injury he suffered, i'd be shocked if he lasts till 17. He's a stud for sure.  If he is and the JETS pass, they are crazy.. I don't think they would pass on him tho. 

Boston re-building. They weren't very good last year i don't think. 

 

yeah they did bad enough to not make the playoffs.

They are old and their window to win has closed.

Yes, they tried and failed.  I didn't say it was a good stamp.

You have to have a team willing to trade out of the top 6 tho, hell no team has traded out of the top 12... 

I still wish that the nucks got Lucic

Zboril is a nice pick but no Hamilton

They couldn't afford to keep Hamilton or felt he wasn't worth paying too much for. We will see what the future holds. Hamilton is good offensively but not so much in his own zone. 

Really liked Debrusk.. too bad.

There is a draft guy on nhl.com who said Brazal would have been in the top 5 discussion with Strome and Marner if not for his dislocated kneecap.

Why would the Isles trade Reinhart??

well maybe they wanted to make a draft selection now, besides the Oilers have McDavid what more could they want? besides their first stanley cup win in 26 years and their first Stanley cup final appearance in 9 years
