It’s about time Atlanta got a hockey team. I don’t know why no one tried it before.

Ovechkin to return for 22nd NHL season with one-year deal...

Wonder why the Flames keep sucking, and players keep leaving?

Crazy offer from the Flyers

That’s insane. Is Briere still GM there? Might not be for long.

They might want to do a welfare check on the Flyers GM.

Ducks said they would match any offer so if I were them i’d respond we said we would match any offer but what we didn’t say is we would match insanity.

See you John, it’s been swell.

Is the cap going up sharply in the next few years?

So what do Celebrini or Beddard get?

Yes. That's why this is happening. The new 104m ceiling is going to create some astronomical numbers.

All the more reason to rid the no move clause. Concession in losing it? More mulla coming your way.

That’s not a new concession. The cap is tied to roughly a 50 / 50 split of revenue. Revenue goes up, cap goes up.

Okay go to the union and say small market teams (and other less desirable locations) are being challenged significantly with this no move clause so what can we offer to offset any changes we propose to help ensure we all make concessions.

However i’m thinking Bettman and the majority of his company have no desire to revisit this no move clause because it’s something they support. I just think they may not be up front with why they support this perk. And it is a perk, it’s not a necessity.

I don't know that they necessarily support it, as in they want the players to be able to do this, you just need enough owners to want to get rid of it to make it a fight they are willing to get into. And since this primarily affects small market teams, my guess this isn't a big enough issue on everyones agenda.

The union is so short sighted and unfortunately so are the players because if you eliminate the small market teams, just means less places for players to play in eventually..won't hurt the superstars but it will hurt the average players down the line, but the greed is too great to overcome.

Damn straight. Great point.

Just to be my usual annoying self to keep on this no move clause, Dylan Larkin is a perfect example of the many things wrong in having it in the first place.

The Flyers GM should be whisked off along with the owner who I assume greenlighted this to never be seen again. Third line pluggers are loving this cuz there salary expectations just went up along with everybody above them.
