The NHL needs to get rid of no movement clauses. It doesn't really exist in other pro leagues.

Leafs getting the first pick seems pretty convenient.

Im more p'd that SJS who was above us got to stay in the lottery and we were eliminated.

Yeah, both of those seem a bit …. Choreographed.

Nobody will be talking about their shitty GM hire for a while now!

Not fixed as the other ball with the leafs that was bouncing around would have given jets pick 1. Not sure how we got eliminated from pick 2 so quickly but… it is what it is. Rigged = Chicago or New York winning. I’m open to trading pick 8 tho. I actually think there’s a strong possibility that since McKenna isn’t generational and a winger that a d man could go 1st overall. Honestly I’m not sure McKenna is nhl ready. He might need another year. Leafs could go Reid 1st overall.

Craig Button is practically begging the Jets to trade the #8 pick in order to get an 2nd line center. Said there isn't going to be anyone available at that spot who will be able to step in and help right away. He's probably not wrong but there's also no real consensus on what order guys are going to be picked so the Jets may want to wait and see how the other draft picks play out first.

The problem is the trade itself, players that can help right away in all probability have trade protection and will not come here. Problem number two is that even if you can get that one player to come here and play help the second line unfortunately the core group is just not good enough. Stay the course draft the best player available this team is going to have a tough time making the playoffs next year anyways.

Okay need to modify my ongoing mantra for this team.

I'll tweak 'Next year is our year' to 'Not next year or the year after that but the year after that (maybe) is our year'.

You could trade the pick to Seattle for a Shane wright or Beniers. Maybe Anaheim for a mctavish. There’s several who fit the category actually. Guys who are young and have no trade protection who could use a change of scenery. Nemec and Mercer in New Jersey. Jersey would be my Helle trade destination tho. Trade our pick for that young 2 C as mentioned above then move Helle for Nemec and nj 1st. Guys on 1st or 2nd contracts don’t normally got trade protection. And not everyone has trade protection either. I’m not trading pick 8 for a dude with a year or 2 left. I’m trading it for a younger guy prob on his 2nd contract. Dudes either signed long term or short but has many rfa years left. You don’t trade 8 for a 30 year old. 22 to 25 ideally age range I’d say.

Yes, we know it was rigged.

No, we don't care.

If it’s even being considered what’s the plan if no Helle? Is our goalie pipeline good enough? Take from Peter to pay Paul is what I would be concerned about if we put Helle on the market just looking at it purely from a hockey talent point of view.
