Don't look now but Nashville is only five points behind the Jets.  A very real possibility that like last year, we'll fall into the wild card spot.

There's some very ugly hockey being played in March.... Thankfully the Stanley Cup is not awarded then.

I'm sure the Caps will be gracious hosts considering we beat them 3-0 the last time we played them and we're coming off 2 lacklustre losses.

id love to know the logic. Apples has sucked for a while? Let’s put him top line, Toffoli to the 3rd line. Just losing the plot. Same roster that lost yesterday less than 24 hours later but kinda throwing **** at the wall and seeing what sticks. They deserve to lose again.

I think the logic of putting to TT on the third line is that he would be able to bury the chances that Appleton keeps getting.

Regarding to putting Apples on the first line, no idea.

At least they broke up 81 and 55. 81 is a giveaway artist as of late.  As long as he doesn't hold the puck from more than one second, he's good.

Connor will be back on line 1 by the 2nd period. Appleton is pointless on line 1. 
 

Ehlers Scheifele Toffoli be better. 

Progress... Four shots on net and it's not even 4 minutes into the first! Lines are working!!! :p

Scheifele on his first shift has no interest in the corner battle there.

You wait until game 68 to declare the Jets as a legit team, then take all of two games to go back to “I am done watching them”. You whine about Kyle Connor never being pulled away from Scheifele’s line, now he is and you still complain. It’s like you can’t be content unless you are unhappy about everything this team does. And anything short of a Cup win will be a failed season. Which is  a miserable way to live your life a fan. 

Yes the last two losses sucked, but big picture this team is still in pace for 109 points in arguably the toughest division in the league. Given what the projections were last summer, things are pretty good now. The success of the season does not erase the concerns of the last few losses, but the stink of the past 72 hours does not diminish the positive steps the team has made. Perspective. And maybe let’s see how the change you pined for works out before saying “useless” as a default negative take. Rant over, go Jets go!

Appleton scored yesterday.

Good kill on that penalty. Nice pace by both teams, Jets getting some chances on the rush. Baby steps.

Much better effort today.  Guys need to hit the net more consistently.

Not sure if Jets better or Wash is just awful....

Washington is in the middle of the conference standings....so probably just awful

Tied after 2 is better then the last 2 games. Cheer up!

 

Jets doing everything but scoring, and the Caps get a last second PP goal after a wishy-washy slash call on Scheifele. 

And promptly give up the lead.   Lindgren has been stellar and the one shot Bucky can't save is the difference in the game

Lindgren giving up rebounds but the Jets can’t their sticks on it. 

And that's the dagger. I have no faith in this f****** team anymore.  Hopefully they rebound on Tuesday.

And a fluky bounce makes it 2-0 Caps. Jets really deserving a better fate right now.

Who cares.  It’s not about yesterday. It’s about what this team does when it matters. Every year at this time they do this, every year. The players change but it’s the same every year. 
 

it’s happening again. They will be in the wildcard spot next week.
