LA literally just gave him away for a bag of pucks (I'm not trying to disrespect DK) but also literally saved themselves some cash for other things they need.

If he struggles yet again based on the size of his contract and the production expectations that come a long with that contract, at what point can he no longer use the  'it's a new team, a new system, new surroundings for myself and my family, I'm not getting regular linemates to get used to etc etc) to explain his struggles and buy some patience from the Capitals organization?

Ehlers, McGroarty, Monahan rights to Columbus for Jiricek plus the 4th overall and maybe Cole Sillinger or Something like that is possible. 
 

hope Demidov drops to 4 (it’s possible) and grab him and in a few short years you build a strong D with Salomonsson Jiricek Demelo Josh samberg ville. 
 

couple elc D men plus you can add elc or 2nd contracts for Lambert Chibrikov Barlow and 4th overall. I think the jets need to build a stronger RHD group. Demelo is a start so 4 years… Salo will be ready soon, jiricek could play with Josh this season. Rhd is set.

I'm confused by the reasons for McGroarty for Jiricek trade. Reason, both are unhappy with how they're being developed in their respective organizations so they want to go to another team that will put them on the NHL ice. So we won't start McGroarty to appease him but to appease Jiricek we will start him and the same goes for the Bluejackets start McGroarty but not Jiricek. Huh?

Yeah it’s weird. I think Jiricek can play here tho In our top 6. Move pionk or Schmidt. There’s a spot for him. There’s also a spot for Salo down the line. I don’t think Rutger can play in our top 6. He’s a similar skater to Perfetti. Took fetts prob 2 years now to show that he can produce in the top 6. I think Rutger might be getting some bad advice. He sees his pals and they all know each other, the rich parents, the USNTDP. He sees brindley and nazar getting a chance on bad teams and thinks or someone says why can’t u play if these guys can and jets say you can if you want compete for a spot, it’s not guaranteed tho. You make it? Great. If you dont, you go ahl. Rutger and the crew there prob don’t like that and you can’t cave cuz heinola Perfetti lambert chibrikov soon salo etc would then all say **** you. If what I’m reading is correct it seems like maybe Rutgers inner circle which is enormous might be telling him bad info. 
 

I think Denton Mateychuk would be a good option also. Local kid. Solid. Him and Salo anchoring the moose next year would be nice.  Jiricek has a year in the A, it’s different than the college kid with admitted deficiencies he needs to work on still demanding a spot. 
 

Problem with Rutger, what if he struggles and it’s apparent he’s not ready. Send him to the moose? He gonna demand a trade.

Might be a good fit but can Laine handle the microscope of playing in Montreal?  It's a gamble...will be interesting.

They gave him away and threw in a 2nd rd pick to do it. Laine and 2nd for basically Declan Chisholm.
