There goes our chance to hoist the Regular Season Conference Champions banner.

  • Man, that's sad...one of the all time great power forwards. You never realized just how good he was until he put on the Maple Leaf, and then he was an elite level superstar...

In 177 games with the Islanders, he's got 38 goals and 33 assists (71 points). Those are pretty abysmal numbers for a player with a $5.5M AAV. At 33, he's probably not an asset to the team and worst of all, he's got four more years left on his contract.

And, is buyout proof.

And, full NTC until 20/21. Then modified NTC.

What a terrible contract.

Wow, didn't know you could make it that way. So the Islanders can't even bubble wrap the guy.

Andrew Ladd's agent did well for him.

Yeah, you can if you put everything into bonuses. For Ladd, everything but $1M in base is bonuses each year.

Even if there's a lock-out, he'll make his money. A few other high profile contracts have been done this way too around the end of the CBA. Again, the owners need a lockout to save themselves.

I'd still sit him until about our 2nd or 3rd last game of the season then dress him to get primed for 1st round.
