Well it’s Canada Day! Hopefully the last post in this thread is the Jets hoisting the Cup.   Enjoy the frenzy!

Everyone that was talked about leading up to the trade deadline and Erik Karlsson.

Panarin, Bobrovsky, Duchene, etc.

Stone extended, so not him.

Around here, all the talk will be Trouba, Morrissey and Laine.

Do we get one more year of Trouba as an RFA/arbitration one year deal signing? I thought so.

The big talk this year might be the RFA offer sheet, which disappeared a few years ago with the Brian Burke/Kevin Lowe spat. Before Austin Matthews and Nylander signed big deals, they were rumoured to be getting big offer sheets, so Mitch Marner is now in that boat, and with Trouba, Connor and Laine all RFA's they might be the hot targets for an offer sheet.

Open question - if anyor all of the following offer sheets are thrown out, do we match? If not, what is the threshold we do match at?

Trouba - 7 years, 8 million per year

Connor - 7 years, 7 million per year

Laine - 7 years, 8.75 million per year

The salary numbers are my best guess at what an "inflated but not ridiculous" offer for each would be.

Trouba. That would be great as it locks him here when he don't want to be here.

Connor - Yes, Hell yes

Laine - Not sure who would throw offer sheet at him after this year.

Laine goes for bridge deal now...

Connor - yes lock him up long term

Trouba - I'd see what the trade market has waiting...

There goes half the fire PaMa peeps.

Still think Daryl Sutter would be a great coach for this team

They're going for it.  Plus the rest of the league will write them a cheque.

What are you saying, they don't generate their own revenue?

Tough gig making 6 mil a year living in Florida with 3 fans giving you a hard time about your team.

Slava Voynov suspended a full season... didn't he just come back from spousal abuse?

he must have violated something in between

Why Josh? He has a year left. Connor Laine Trouba.

Guaranteed RFA Myers gets major hype.

Think you mean UFA.

Because, as of July 1st, he can be extended. There will be tons of talk about his value and locking him up longterm. Especially after Trouba is dealt.

Trouba goes.

Connor worries me cuz away from 55 and 26 hes not great and even with them for most the year.. Hes somewhat overrated. Still young but certainly not 20 years old like..

Laine.. Why do u bridge him? That's dumb.. Hes 20. Hes scored 30 again. 60 points roughly is a bad year? Becoming a more rounded player better in the D zone and using his body is a bad year? Ppl **** on Laine because their expectations for a 20 yr old are ridiculous.

Connor was a Moose. Or in College at. 20. Scheifs 1st full year at 20.

The expectations for a 20 yr old is just so mind boggling. Ppl love 23 yr old Connor playing 75 percent of the season with the guys with the most minutes by far... Getting 8 9 more points than the 20 yr old playing 15 minutes a night? WTF.

I bridge Connor cuz hes close to the finished product... I long term Laine cuz hes 20 ffs and in 3 years will be better than Connor at the same age Connor is now. Late bday, hes 3 years older than Laine.

Trouba goes for sure.. Detroit finishing 6th at the draft lottery is interesting.. Perhaps Jets like a D or Center at 6 and can move Jake home. Detroit likely adds tho. Maybe Hronek or Cholowski even. Dunno. But ya hes gone and not worth 8 million.
