So anyone go anywhere good lately, with iHop opening on monday (surely this one will be better than the one in grand forks service wise) I'm kind of wondering if anyone has been anywhere decent recently

 

a month ago I went with my friends to canadian brewhouse.....man that was a good burger but a word to the wise, do not get an appetizer if you also plan on getting the John Candy Burger it's the second most expensive thing there...but man those garlic fingers were excellent, but there were more than I thought so I asked "anyone want to share my fingers?" which they gladly did

 

I can assure you that the John Candy Burger is nothing like whatever John Candy like item that Rumors Comedy Club has....it was just two patties compared to the Rita Challenge

 

I'm not sure if anyone has made a restaurant thread yet so I'm just leaving this here

Don't know if this has been posted yet but KP is finally starting to expand the food court (I realized they must be finally starting when I saw that Spencers and Dollorama were moving closer to Shoppers Showcase is moving too, though I'm wondering about the fate of Primos because they did confirm with me that they were going to be effected as well but what I don't know is if they're going to even get a space since Dollarama took up most of the space, chances are they might be reduced to a kiosk like at Polo Park or they might leave KP altogether which would suck because the Grant Park location is so far away even if it's easier to get to now)

Antler World is leaving the mall completely. Going to be in the strip mall at 925 Headmaster beside where Rae's Bistro, Miller's Meats and Crusty Bun are.

CS Collectibles is deep in T-Cona and I assume it's a similar type of store.

Boston Pizza has released their Holiday Menu items and I am drooling we have hand crafted Mozzarella sticks, Pepperoni Stinger Pizza, oh yeah and another item with Vodka sauce and a lava cake

What is going on this city,   is their some kind of mafia that is hitting on places that are not paying up?    Several convenience stores and now a few restaurants... all non chain places.

Could be.  It's been happening in other cities for years - Winnipeg may just behind the times as usual.

I dont know. There's been a ton of these restaurant fires lately and it sure smells like a serial arsonist and/or extortion.

Yup, 6 downtown businesses have been hit in the last few months.  Could be both a serial arsonist/drug addict but it could very well be extortion.  Police believe at least 2 were targeted attacks (video shows molotov cocktails being used) rather than a random incident.

Downtown is completely full of meth heads everywhere.  It doesn't mean they are the ones starting fires.    Usually the meth heads start fires in encampments that get out of control.   

Plus they have video of that one convenience store where two guys came in with gas canistars and lit the place up. 

La Roca claims attempted arson and the fire was contained to the patio.

Im leaning mores to methhead arsonist and less to extortion especially in an age of security cams and cell phone tracing but we do have padawan's in the gangs too.

Could be a warning to the owners, look we could of burnt your place to the ground but we just set the patio on fire.

Sounds like any business in that war zone should budget for security when closed. Cost of doing business. Back in the late 90's, I was unemployed. I took a job with Wackenhut Security guarding a mosque in NE Calgary by the airport overnight from 11-7. I had to patrol inside once an hour & observe outside in my car. Shitty job but they had vandalism & break ins. No trouble when I was there. It stopped. I left after 2 months as I got a day job.

Did you not see the video where 2 guys on camera walk in to the convenience store and poured gas and lit the place up.  All on camera.     

Also lol at the cell phone tracing.  I'm pretty sure the arsonist isn't going to leave his cell phone number at the scene of the crime for the police to track him.       

and I was today years old when I found out that Pizza 73 and Pizza Pizza have the same menu items (though to be fair we don't have P73 in Manitoba they're exclusive to ABCS...Alberta British Columbia and Saskatchewan, and yet they have Pizza Pizza's everywhere)

Pizza 73 used to be independent until Pizza Pizza bought them out to get a quick expansion out west.

It used to be really good back in the day.
