Okay, other than experience, what does Nichols do better, because I'm betting he (Streveler) understands the Xs and Os just fine, throws better, runs better, is a better athlete, has more heart and fire, is a better leader, and is the kind of QB that can carry a team on his back and that an offense will run through walls for. The rest is likely a wash. We are never going to know until he gets full-time reps and a few years of seasoning under his belt like Nichols has.

The only way Streveler is going to get full-time reps this season is if Nichols gets hurt, next season if Nichols gets cut or traded, or Streveler plays for another team and I definitely don't want to see him playing elsewhere. But I think it would be a huge mistake to think this kid can't play and play well.

There is going to come a time when he will no longer settle for being a career backup. He needs to play full-time reps soon or we are just wasting him.

And why do you think I just lobbied for him to get playing time tonight?  See, somehow, and I don't get this line of reasoning, but somehow there seems to be this notion that being pro Nichols is being anti Streveler, and vice versa and I say you can be both.  Hell when people were still talking about Streveler vs Alex Ross I went on record as saying right out the gate I thought he should be our backup.  So far I'm glad he is.

And as to him carrying a team on his back, I think that's pretty heavy prognostication not based on a lot.  Now here's the thing, the Lapolice offense I believe is intentionally designed so that QBs are not meant to do that.  And I think that's a good thing so that you don't become overly dependent on the starter.

But I really feel like after this last week, I really feel like people have moved the goal posts around for Streveler letting him off the hook for the same game manager stuff Nichols has been knocked for.  And ... Well should people be worried Strev only gets reps if Nichols goes down, cuz I seen a lot of new narratives being bumped that he's injury prone now.

I mean, all I'm doing here is just gathering up all the puzzle pieces and trying to put them all together

That would come as a surprise to me-that has not been O'Shea's modus operandi thus far. Besides, if Nichols is hot, why not let him kick sand in the Argos' faces all night long? I thought that Toronto had better coaching than has been evident thus far.

Well in case you didn't see it, J5V says Streveler can do everything Nichols can do which I take to include "kicking sand in faces," so ... Yeah lol

I would say Nichols had 1 game where he was inaccurate and 2 where he was pretty damn accurate.

Really almost seems like Mr Ferguson's accuracy system neglects completion percentages and doesn't factor in deep vs short range passes.  All of which Nichols had last week ... AND ... yes his completion percentage was higher than Streveler's short passes numbers.  Hence I say he's got a lot of bonkers in this.

I can't wait to see Streveler run this offense on a full-time basis to prove all the naysayers wrong. There is nothing he can't do at least as well as Nichols, IMO.

What naysayers?  I wasn't aware he had any lol.

Course I suppose I should warn him the Nichols detractors will turn on him if he doesn't consistently get 300 passing yards a game lol.

I suspect that last night's BC-Edmonton game will look a lot like the game tonight.

Our crowd won't be leaving though, or at least they'd better not.

Really would love to see both Streveler and MacGuire operate the controls once we get a 3 or 4 TD lead (I'm calling that).  Not to let the foot off the gas but to get em more game ready just as we allowed Bennett to do last year in Montreal.

We gave Oshea and Walters three years plus to right the ship... would be crazy to dump Claybrooks

Hervey needs an LT and MLB at the very VERY least to give Claybrooks the tools to succeed...

Despite the fans clamoring for a regime change on here as I recall lol

I agree that at this point you have to let Claybrooks try to fix this.  June Jones isn't going to come through that door so no other choice in my opinion.  And the mess is BC is also the fault of Wally Buono, so good riddance to him.

But I have to admit I am glad I'm not a BC fan though cuz seeing what I saw last night would give me very little confidence that the current regime is getting it right going forward.

    And some WRs besides Burnham

One thing the Lions did accomplish, they turned Harris into a game manager...276 yards passing and 2 TDs.

Mike Reilly meanwhile had 157 yards passing...total. That’s like a couple of passes each to Derel Walker and Williams last year.

Attention Nichols detractors .... Here's some great fodder for your witch hunt .. or not lol

It happens.... the CFL is so small. O'Shea was a ST coach for four years before becoming a head coach. I put more of the blame on Jarious Jackson for a poor offence and Ed Hervey for not having any good receivers besides Burnham.

This, plus when you're the DC of the league's best defense with the cup to show for, you're going to get job offers.  Sometimes the gamble pays off, sometimes it doesn't just like people who figured even with Franklin's limited body of work he'd be a great QB.  Ended up being not the case, but at the time you can understand why he got picked up.

Another argument could also be that Buono stuck around a bit too long and should have had a new chapter turned a few seasons before.

Might not be fair but OC Jackson may take the fall in the coming weeks.

Well I don't know how that wouldn't be fair.  He's shown zero ability to create a balanced attack and create favorable matchups in the scheme.  Granted a couple of his WRs aren't making good effort either, but he's shown nothing that leads me to think he's a good OC.

BC is a mess. Looks like there’s a disconnect between the players and the coaches. Does Reilly trust Jackson’s schemes and play-calling?

I truly believe even though he's just one man Duron Carter really is that bad of a cancer that he can in fact drag a whole team down.  He's been kicked off team after team which should tell it all.
