  1. Nothing has changed since we let him go...
  2. I hate the idea of losing Flanders. but, I think the double RB set was a luxury we knew wouldn’t last and was also based off the weakness of our receiver depth last year. Hopefully, we get production out of Demski that makes the role of Flanders irrelevant.
  3. This might be my newborn's first game!
  4. I'm very glad we picked up Ross. He has his first year and snaps in his back pocket already. This year, it seems likely he will receive the #2 reps in practice and continue in his development.
  5. True enough.
  6. Obviously Walters isn;t one to disparage people publicly, but he has said that financially it wasn't going to work out, even before they called and kicked the tires. I mean, we did offer him a contract. I think we wanted him, warts and all.
  7. The only issue I have with that is one that TBurg raised, if salary is part of the equation ( and it is obviously a consideration), are we expecting money to come off of the books after this season to be able to afford another 2 first round picks? Both the cost and the roster spot?
  8. I would like to see one year where there were not a bunch of changes. Maybe see if officiating gets better if they're not spending time learning new rules?
  9. As Mark points out, this is a ridiculous statement and underlined the double standard. He’s not asking to be paid more for 2017, he’s asking for a raise because he thoroughly outplayed his contract and wants his contract to now reflect that. We routinely see teams do this when players have a bonus due or get injured or simply don’t play up to their contract. They renegotiate for less, eliminate bonuses, or simply cut ties.
  10. Because they had a better option at RB. Doesn't bode well for his CFL future at the position. He's probably best used as an Andre Durie type hybrid, but his injury issues are concerning.
  11. From reading your posts over the past few pages, I can see that you are dead set in your opinion and you wont change it. But here is why I personally disagree with you. A. No, I am not rich. But both me and my wife (one kid on the way) make more than 50k a year and we're hardly rolling in the cash. And our cost of living is a fraction of what his expenses would be. B. To play a professional sport is a full year job, you're simply only paid for half that year. It's certainly not as simply as "get a real job". C. His kids and family are relevant because he is a person. And if he can't afford to live on 50k, then he needs to make a change. D. Football players risk more than tearing an acl or breaking bones. Surely you know that they are not just "playing a game" for a living. The risk of CTE, or early onset arthritis in your joints making in painful to move or cause you to become dependent on pain killers. No, I would absolutely not put on pads for 50k a year. Anyways, just my opinion. I think he should be able to make the decision to sit out if he feels it is best for him.
  12. I don’t know about you, but I sure as hell wouldn’t play football - knowing all we do today - for 50k. last year, he felt he didn’t have any choice and had no other option to sign that contract. If he had more options now, power to him.
  13. We definitely need an alternate for Wild for when/if he gets injured. Assuming that Leggett is re-signed and JSK is filling one of our LB slots, Wild needs to be rotational or have a strong candidate behind him.
  14. Hopefully so.
  15. Because we were in high school and our world was just beginning.
  16. I am not inherently against U.S. expansion. I don't like the idea of it, and it obviously went horribly last time (it is a stain on our history), but there it is not evil for the sake of being evil. There are a very real set of things that would make this incredibly difficult to pull off. If there was a US team in a football market, that had a 110 yard field, used Canadians (or we were somehow able to find a reasonable solution), played on days that would not conflict with local High School/NCAA/NFL games, had committed ownership, etc, etc, etc. I can't see the stars aligning on so many different elements. There would have to be a very rich, very committed US based person who for some reason loves Canadian ball.
  17. So the Grey Cup wouldn’t be the championship game? That’s a non- starter for me. Besides, you haven’t addressed the ratio concern at all. Just ignored it.
  18. It's hilarious that we hold professional athletes to such high standards on the field/court/rink/ etc, but when it comes to their humanity, any common gesture is viewed as over and above.
  19. Yup. After that effort yesterday (with Hutton slamming the door shut on us), we need to come through tonight.
  20. This is exactly it though, NFL teams spend [ungodly amount of ] money on scouting and recruiting players. None of those individuals have anything to do with the team twitter feed. Again, no angst against Randle - I think he’s our best defensive player - just curiosity about the thought process. It doesn’t make sense to me.
  21. Going off topic here, but the twitter account is going to be run by someone hired to be witty and social media savvy. I’m sure the overwhelming majority of these people are on the young side and 0% have any contact with football operations.
  22. You seem to be arguing against yourself. If he knows so many people and he has so many contacts, why is he not using them and instead relying on social media? And if he knows so much about the inner workings, why is he not going that route? I do not begrudge the man an opportunity, I just don’t understand why he’s going about it in this way.
  23. I think we’re mostly just curious because it seems so futile. Does he not have an agent? Did his agent tell him that he wasn’t generating any interest so he took matters into his own hands? Does he think that in a multi-million dollar organization like an NFL team, the twitter kid has any contact with the player personnel people?
  24. He got into coaching after his playing career, didn't he?
