  1. Not worried about the OL at all. We took an unexpected about of hits losing Desjarlias and Eli (presumably), but Grey + draft picks will weather the storm. I'm only worried once we have to replace big Stan, but at that point, we're probably replacing all of our 30+ guys and starting from scratch. Our offence doesn't run this team, and while Lawler had a good season, if you compare it against top seasons of CFL past.....it doesn't really measure up...I think we can more than absorb the loss. We do need some secondary help. I don't think we're going to be able to depend on Maston and Taylor for 18+3. I trust that Alexander will be back, so pick a Hallet and go from there. Needs me some Strev tho.
  2. We'll see what happens, but it almost looks like they're rebuilding, which would get everyone fired in a Grey Cup year. I expect their offence to do pretty well this year, but I don't know what they have along the DL and in their secondary.
  3. Andrew is leaving big shoes to fill. But 2022 Andrew isn’t going to be 2019 Andrew. It’s a team game and not one single player dragged us anywhere, but our Grey Cup victories were carried by our defence. Andrew was incredibly important to our turnaround, but we are trying to keep a team together and he did not earn his contract last season and the savings at RB help us keep more of the whole team moving forward. I think most of us would have preferred that he accepted Walters’ offer and stayed on with us, but he clearly felt he needed to maximize his earnings. All the power in the world to him and I hope he leads the league in rushing. No hard feelings.
  4. I’ll say right now that I don’t put it on Milt’s level at all. Full stop. And I bet the difference between Walters and Harris could have been 100k, not 50. That’s cutting into other players on the roster that we’ve already taken loses at. Im much more confident in the difference between Andrew and Brady than I am in the difference between Ellingson and McKnight.
  5. I sincerely hope they do well.
  6. I don't see any situation where we miss McGuire.
  7. There are no more starter jobs and if he can make an NFL roster then that's where he'll be. But, if that well runs dry (and it seems like that may be the case), he's going to come to the CFL on a back-up deal.
  8. I expected them to sign Moncrief, but I am surprised they went out and got Sankey too.
  9. So, they didn’t offer a signing bonus, meaning that he’s going to be taxed like crazy on that number. IIRC, there’s a cap on signing bonuses for teams now? Meaning Edmonton probably spent or is planning to spend theirs and needed to go excessively high to match BC’s offer that came with a signing bonus.
  10. Not at all - Need to replace Lawler's production and Ellingson is much better equiped.
  11. He is still the best back in our room, I think everyone understands that. From Walters down to the fan base. No one is suggesting he’s washed that I can see. If the Bombers didn’t offer him a number, that’s not disrespectful, it’s a result of being in constant communication with him and knowing what his expectations are and that we couldn’t meet them. That’s all. As to the team tension, we don’t know one way or the other for sure. He’s not infallible, it’s certainly possible he came to camp out of shape after a year off. It’s also possible people are jumping on the injury and his presumed departure and trying to find/create malice from these events. If we believed a couple of weeks ago that our franchise has done things right and treated our players with respect and built a solid team culture that people want to be a part of, then we should believe that they have treated Andrew above board and will walk away amicably.
  12. I mean, you can. A good QB can throw for 5000 in 18 games....but do either team have that kind of offense? nope.
  13. They have no chance. ' Even if they have good seasons, unless they are far and away the top in the league.....it's a disappointment.
  14. You still need to convince guys to sign. It's been a very successful off-season for them.
  15. Yeah, I think we'll be ok there. I'm most worried about BA's injury, but I guess we'll still get him back for the last half/play-offs. Other than that, I'm just hopeful that our scouts find us some good competition for WR and DB.
  16. Jeff Hamilton also said in his interview that he hears Stove is on his way to BC.
  17. I guess I just feel that we would have signed him already if he was willing to take that role.
  18. Only after Brady committed here...hmmm...
  19. Jeff was incredibly supportive of bringing Andrew back. He can't believe the team isn't making it happen.
  20. He's a great follow on twitter. I bet he does a great job.
  21. I went and listened to the interview. It was a completely off the cuff remark - Jeff can't believe that we wouldn't bring Andrew back - and said something like maybe Wade could come in and appeal for common sense to prevail. Jeff didn't specifically say talk to Harris to take less or talk to Walters to spend more, he was just grasping at straws to try and imagine how we can still make this work.
  22. Can you expand on that "bridge deal"?
