  1. Brazil has had some really good catches this game but has also had two really bad turn overs
  2. Super is playing awesome and some Toronto receivers back is helping the team
  3. I disagree Mfranc, willy doesn't stay in Regina behind Durant who still has many years left. Being a backup anywhere else specially when the talk in Regina was tino may be taking willy's spot would mean he would want to move to a new team with more opportunities
  4. Interested to see how well Booker is going to play; looks like he was invited to TC in the NFL and got injured on the first day and hasn't played since.
  5. Injuries for our team definitely seem to have mounted up
  6. Let's just agree that between you, 17to85, and Mike you can all come across that way sometimes and just move on back to the discussion; although I think Mike is more because of his avatar lol
  7. Does anyone know the conditions on Portis? We could really use some extra picks this year with how well the current draft seems to look for OL. We could actually draft a couple OL this year and might even be lucky enough for a defensive player on top of that. Would be nice to get a bunch of OL into development so that we have some Canadian talent across the line as the years go on.
  8. This is going to be a rough finish with all these injuries
  9. No one is out of the play offs until it shows the top 4 spots clinched in the West; that includes us! Hell no one has even clinched a play off birth yet nor has anyone clinched first place. This could be an interesting year.
  10. The thread becomes entertainment once again! Ameet Pall will apologize for the dog kicking the first time he speaks to the media about joining Winnipeg
  11. I enjoy the other fans here, it creates more conversation and hopefully more topics to discuss in the future. Sets up for debate which I am always interested in doing. As well have you seen forums from other teams besides Saskatchewan and Winnipeg, most of them are dead it's like crickets. I was looking to see if BC was talking about Glenn and the game coming up and other information and the third topic down was from a month ago. They just are not nearly as interactive as our fans, or maybe I just haven't found the right places. So I would bet many of these Sask fans are just looking for more participation in conversation, and let's face it over on RiderFans most of them just make up derogatory names for players not on Saskatchewan and talk about how terrible any player that gets traded away or cut from Saskatchewan and picked up with another team. Sometimes they also copy and post forum posts from other forums and try to laugh at how silly they think it is. So maybe these fans just want a more real conversation. I say welcome anyone who is a BC fan, Sask fan, Toronto fan, Calgary fan ect because it brings more conversation and in general makes the forums busier with more people to talk too. It's not like other fans of other teams can not be knowledgeable, and than we don't have to worry about the five here that do most of the participation and it'll feel less like an old mans club.
  12. Agreed with WALTERS; it`s not like these CUTS from the NFL are instantly going to be fantastic; starting calibre CFL players; many of them won`t make it here either
  13. Most don`t know what Edmonton has to offer Logan, it`s a beautiful city but many who live there see nothing but the pot hole filled streets on their way to work every day
  14. Back to the original topic; I believe that the riders play will decline only slightly and I don`t believe it will be because of their passing game because let`s face it they barely had one. I think the main issue is Durant was a great running quarterback too; the way he carried Peach for three or four yards in that game was insane. The way he kept drives alive in LDC by running the 2nd and long yardage to get the first down. Replace Durant with Sunseri in those same circumstances and I just do not see the same game changing plays. Let me say though I believe Willy is an excellent quarterback; and already have the confidence that barring injury he will be a number one quarterback in the league and I hope that Winnipeg manages to keep him as our franchise quarterback. But I also do not believe he could carry or run through a defender the way that Durant does and has. That aspect will be what the Riders are missing in their future games. I also agree with the assessment that because Tino is not as respected as Durant that the running game will be closed up more because they`ll use less players to defend against the pass.
  15. I do agree with 17to85 on the fact that the Riders didn't play fantastic the last game either; our special teams lost it and their special teams won it. Their defense didn't do great we had 360+ yards in passing and more yards in total and if I recall we held TOP. This is not to say that the Riders are a bad team in fact I think they have a great team going. But I do not believe they are so far a head of the rest of the West. I honestly believe that all the teams in the West are playing at a similar level. Someone will not make the play offs and it'll be disappointing because I'm sure the spread will be only 2 points and possibly only four or six points from first. That to me is a very close race in the WEST, now I could be wrong and we end up losing every game but I don't see it.
  16. Why are they not at the level of Calgary and Saskatchewan? A few blown calls; a few mistakes; a Winnipeg catch vs Saskatchewan catch; or one less field goal pole in the way and Winnipeg wins those games. If anything I would say they and Saskatchewan are at the same level in respects as all three games came down to less than a minute left before they were decided. Two games came down to the final kick/throw of the game to decide who won them or not.
  17. I hate when they don't schedule the annual triangle field game in the first half of the year. Really gets sloppy in the fall weather. ^ this^ lol
  18. I'm thinking we would want to trade him but no one is interested; cutting him now doesn't help us unless we can get someone to fill the role immediately and we will have to pay him his contract anyways. Who knows how it will also affect the locker room as I haven't heard if he's a negative or positive influence in the locker room either. I just hope that we play Kromah more often so that he can get some reps and eventually take over the starting role; he made mistakes as well but I believe he has made up for his misses more often than Kuale has. Personal opinion though many of us feel the same about Kuale.
  19. No problems Goalie; I am not Road Griller he's the troll looking for people to get upset by mentioning that we should get rid of O'Shea and go back to Lapo every five plays. It was kind of humurous when many indulged him but in reality we all know he is just trying to get under peoples skins I personally believe the team is doing well; and if they can fix some of the penalties and special teams that we will be competitors this year. I am also one of those naive people who still believe we have a chance of winning the grey cup. Which I will believe until we either miss the play offs or are elliminated. But it doesn't mean I won't be upset with missed calls; poor playing; or the here we go again with erranous snaps and the likes. It's fun to have a discussion I use two computers just so I can stream on the one and chat on the other That is when Im home and able to catch the game P.S. I still don't know who has birds and how they help lol
  20. Name Year Team No. Yards Avg Long TD DENMARK, C 2014 WPG 42 646 15.4 58 1 MOORE, N 2014 WPG 32 469 14.7 51 0 KELLY, A 2014 WPG 27 401 14.9 47 3 WATSON, C 2014 WPG 11 161 14.6 47 2 BRYANT, R 2014 WPG 14 154 11 47 0 KOHLERT, R 2014 WPG 25 328 13.1 37 3 FEOLI-GUDINO, J 2014 WPG 23 200 8.7 22 2 Finally we have Grigsby; who although is not a receiver still plays a significant roll in our receiving core; as well as Pontbriand GRIGSBY, N 2014 WPG 39 341 8.7 45 1 PONTBRIAND, M 2014 WPG 7 82 11.7 28 0 Now these numbers show that in total Moore is our second best for most yards received; but on average falls into third on average yards received. Now still great stats and he has made plays for the team but so has every other receiver up there made meaning full plays for the team at quality moments. Now unfortunately I am not able to find any CFL numbers that record the number of times a player has fumbled; just the number of fumble recoveries a player has. So I am going off of memory here but the only players I remember fumbling the ball that were receivers on the Winnipeg team this year was Romby Bryant and Moore. Romby Bryant if I recall fumbled the ball once, and most of us were all over him because he had already had poor play and he was a vet brought over from Toronto that many thought was already pass the peak of his career. The other was Moore, who has fumbled the ball from my recollection three times in the red zone and at least once possible twice not in the red zone. But you are going to say yes; but he has more receptions than our other receivers sitting at 32 RECEPTIONS! Of which I'll say so what Denmark has more, and if you discount those fumbles he is pushing close to the same ammount of receptions as Aaron Kelly, Rory Kohlert and JFG. Than we go back and forth for a bit on who thinks they are more correct; or you can't just bring up stats its about what they do in game or about getting open; and I'll bring up that he plays a position that will more than likely get more throws thrown towards him than the positions of some of our other receivers. In which you bring up the fact that you believe he is the best receiver on the team so thats why he plays that position and the pissing match can continue. In any case; lets agree to disagree. The great thing is! I am not our GM and I don't ever plan on pretending that I am one. I know very little about the CIS nor do I know much about the NCAA. I watch football because I enjoy it; and like to follow the teams and players as it's fun. I would also enjoy watching CIS; NCAA and DIV games but without television this doesn't happen often as it's already hard enough to stream the CFL games and honestly I have other things to do I can only waste 3-6 hours a week watching the foot ball games during foot ball season. Often I try to make sure I see only the Winnipeg games; and often find myself having to listen to those games on the radio (thanks Tune In on my phone and CJOB) So let's avoid the back and forth and agree to disagree; I personally feel that 180k for Moore deserves more production out of him and less fumbles. He is after all the highest paid receiver on the team so expectations should be higher. ... queue the stupid remarks.... *** edit eww the forum stripped the tables I'll fix them tomorrow its too late to care tonight ****
  21. This statement is probably the worst statement out of the entire thread; it really proves what kind of person you are. I'll repeat just because someone disagree's with your opinion, remember it is an opinion in the end and there is no such thing as a wrong or right opinion, doesn't mean it is as you would call it, stupid.
  22. I quite enjoyed the royal blues they wore on Banjo Bowl; I wish they would use those uni's more often they really seemed to pop and we seemed to do better on fumble recoveries, though I doubt its related
  23. Did Chris Matthews quite on the team? I know two years ago he had a great season but last year he just was "meh" I believe Denmark had a better year last year than he did; just didn't seem to make many plays but we also had a terrible supporitng cast. I guess my memory just serves me that Chris Matthews felt like a one shot wonder. If it was that he had quit on the team, than perhaps he plays at a much higher level than I would expect or anticipate than what I remember from last year which is much closer to my memory. Do we have room on our PR and Roster to be able to get another person without letting someone go? Which receiver goes if someone has to go? Most say Aaron Kelly but he seems to have good chemistry with Drew Willy and has been a well utilizied receiver this year although he dissappeared in three possible four of the last five games? But than Willy also seemed to stop throwing the ball around to multiple receivers in those games as well. It's hard for me to dislike any of our receivers except for Moore and Romby; even though most love Moore. I guess if Moore stopped fumbling he would be a great receiver as well; but his fumbles have put a bad taste in my mouth.
  24. Dissappointing that it is most likely his career; an injury where they can return is a lot different than a career ending injury. What happened that he required the off season injury? I still didn't believe he was ready to be back and playing and that it was too soon when BC started him. Though I also felt that way because I felt that Kevin Glenn was not playing horrible for his team either.
