The fancy stats, so like Corsi and Fenwick and stuff like that. Those are interesting but i always find the eye test to be the best. Those fancy stats tell you that some games the guys you thought sucked really bad actually had good corsi and fenwick numbers. I'm not in to the fancy stats like some are, i just watch the game and really, stats can tell you a few things but what it doesn't really tell you is starting this guy over that guy would make you win.
I don't really buy in to the fancy stats stuff, i think that's just what they are. stats. Stats can prove a lot of things but they can also deceive you considerably.
Let's use football as an example, Nic Grigsby had some damn good stats for the bombers but watching the games, you knew he wasn't as good as his stats showed he was.
As for the whole back to back goalie situation, well, every team does it a few times a season, that's for sure.
Honestly, sitting here not knowing exactly what the thought process was behind playing PAVS back to back, i can't say but i can say that i really don't think he was the issue that game at all.
The powerplay goal like Maurice said would have beaten most goalies in the league, gotta give props sometimes to the opposing team for making a nice play.
The other 2, Like maurice said, would have beaten every goalie in the league.
Reality is, we start hutch and the likely scenario sees us losing 4-3 in OT anyway.
