9 million for Ehlers is insane. He’s never hit 60 points and doesn’t play all 82 ever. Thing is tho say he gets 9 and is 9 x 7 years. That’s 63 million max. Jets could offer 8 (still pretty high considering Corey Perry had more playoff goals at age 40 than Ehlers does his entire career) but 8 million x 8 years (only jets can offer the 8th year) 64 million. personally I don’t think he’s worth it cuz once he loses his speed he’s finished. I don’t think he’s a top line guy on a contender, his injury history is just long. And he’s not consistent playoff performer at all. I’d prob be comfortable 7 x 7. Even 7 x 5 or 6 years but yup someone will overpay and be stupid. We will replace him with a couple value signings I feel. I think JT could attract some potential free agents. Are ppl pushing for Bailey cuz they been going to practices and he’s standing out or is it cuz hey ncaa cuz right now, Bailey and Weitz are pretty much the same. They both have done nothing. Always something. Bailey would get as many reps as Ayers got last week on the DL. A team that values sp teams takes the better sp teams player, I mean if this is based on college here cuz that’s pretty much all you have to go on. Weitz was the better teams player. Plus talking about the D when the D isn’t a problem very often if ever is just it’s interesting but insane.
