That Chevy interview was the most forward and blunt he's ever been. Came right out and said that they didn't like laines progression and didn't think him and Scheif played well together... He's right.. they were brutal. Doesn't fit the salary structure.

Perhaps what's lost in people's emotional posts are in Winnipeg Patty played with Scheif. Stastny. Ehlers.Wheeler. Connor. These are top talent at their positions. He won't have close to that in CBJ as they traded their best player for him. PLD is 55 point center with no name wingers. Play driver at that. Also.. likely to fit in with the teams salary structure. Ppl going on about if PLD leaves.. he's RFA in 2 years.. he will sign a team friendly extension. Chevy don't do this without inside knowledge ( PLDs Dad) so I'm not concerned. Losing Laine tho was a real thing.. he wanted to go . Clear as day.. maybe he wants to be the superstar? I dunno. The 1 RW star? I dunno.. he gets that chance now tho cuz it's pretty much him and a bunch of hard workers. Torts will get a lot out of him.. he's a damn good coach and a winner. I hope Laine does well.. signs long term in CBJ and they build around him. But PLD is a very good young 2 center and big and.. honestly.. in the long term in a flat cap world.. more affordable. As for the top 4 D... The only offer that actually was rumored was Carolina.. Brett Peace and Martin Necas. I'll take PLD. Fact is that was the best offer we were gonna get for Laine and ppl need to stop over valuing Roslo who demanded a top 6 role but did nothing to get it. We got rid of 1 guy today cuz Roslo wasn't gonna be here again cuz ppl like Roslo don't dictate **** in the NHL but.. his value was nothing. 22 6 foot 3. 220 55 point avg or so with the not as talent heavy jackets, Center. I don't see the problem. Top 4 D? Heinola. Samberg. Who says it has to be a RHD anyways. This trade makes the Jets better.

Laine didn't wanna be here and I'll bet Columbus moves him for a 1st and prospect at the deadline. Rumors are the money ask is quite high. Why did PLD want out. If you believe rumors he is a big family guy and wanted to be closer to them. Dad lives here. Also some rumors are Columbus has a few MAGA supporters as leaders and PLD did not see eye to eye with them.

Looking at the fancy stats. PLD Is a play driving center. 6 3 220. Laine had 1.5 good seasons elite seasons here and 1.5 not so much. Ppl remember couple years back when Laine was the worst player on the ice for 25 30 games? Roslo had no value.

Doubt it. Lowry is a RFA as is Copp. Roslo isn't even a Jet anymore. They would take the big young top 6 D.

With Thompson hurt next game gonna need a different forward unless Laine is back but even if he is would love to see Vesalainen get a shot. Since Moose don't play for a bit you want the young guys getting some game action. Now is that time. Sit Perreault and insert Vesalainen Also Get Samberg in a game soon. Just smart to not have these young guys sitting.

Heinola is so smart positionally. Dude won't wow anyone but his Hockey IQ is seriously off the charts. Just knows where to be to make the D play. Massive upgrade on everyone not named Morrissey

You just play the games on the schedule and Ottawa might not be great but they work hard. We also play them like 8 times so it is what it is this year. In reality all these teams are similar. The plus to this game is Jets had a week off almost and this is just their 4th game and they are starting to look like the rust is off.

When this team decides they want to work hard they are very very good.

Watch Maurice will take out Forbort or Morrissey or Stanley.

Respect Wheeler but he lost his speed last season and the trend continues and likely would be a good winger with Copp and Lowry. 23 mins regardless is to much for an aging captain. 26 for Mark the 2nd game in a row... I Don't think a coach will be fired this season.. off season maybe but... Not in season unless something insane happens but... At this point and yes 2 games but the overlaying of scheif and Wheeler...well, it's insanity. Seen this theme quite a bit the past 2 seasons now. Ottawa gonna outwork us also.

Normally takes him 20 games to get going. At this point tho looks like father time Is catching up. Nothing wrong with 26 with 17 or Stastny if need be.

Get Samberg in next game. Get Beaulieu or Niku out. Quicker the transition happens to the quicker puck moving D the better. Keep Stanley in. He's already better than Niku and maybe Beaulieu

Just don't have the depth to deal with stupid line up decisions like Harkins on the 4th and Perreault with line 2 to start. PP and PK is garbage tho. I see no change from last season however game 2 vs game 4 here. Jets still don't have their game legs. Leafs do.
