  1. I have a level of confidence in the Bombers team that I've never felt before... born in the mid 80s and becoming a fan by the mid-90s, I never experienced truly great Bomber teams (with a few one-off exceptions)... this team, I know will win if they show up and play their best... but that still doesn't stop me from stressing out during literally every game 😂
  2. What's his history of coaching in the CFL?... I think I recall he was on either Trestman's or Milanovich's staff (or both) as an assistant at some point
  3. the thing about good football players and good football teams... they'll beat you even if you know what's coming.
  4. Counter point… imagine if the bombers hadn’t give O’Shea and Walters (at least) a third year…
  5. 1 - Dalton: locks up league receiving yards and TD title in his rookie year… cfl might as well not waste the time of naming an east nominee for ROY 2 - Bomber leave the game with no major injuries… hopefully Kramdi is ok… he’s becoming an important STer and role player on D 3 - key vets shaking off the rust… jeffcoat, Ellingson, and Woli got some reps and look ready to go for playoffs HH - Tyrell Ford… as many have already mentioned, the young man showed very well in his first career start.
  6. Watching Miller running QB sneaks… makes you appreciate the skill involved in running that play successfully
  7. Something that hasn't been mentioned... I think if the team chooses not to pick up the 3rd year option... that would make Rourke a free agent.... now obviously, if BC was going to do that with the intention of re-signing him... a massive contract would already be in front of him at the time of the declination... at least, that's how I understand the option year to work... otherwise, it's just a 3 year deal, not a 2+1.
  8. This is understandable... I would bet no one, other than Bomber fans, want the Bombers to win another Grey Cup.... if the Bombers were terrible right now and one of our rivals were going for a three peat... I'd probably jump on the Rourke bandwagon for the playoffs
  9. I know you meant you didn't like 2001... I thought it was odd that you lumped 2021 into that statement of "didn't care for the ending of that movie" 2001 proves the point you were trying to make... 2021 disproves it
  10. there are many factors when comparing the two players' situations: - who the player is (like or not, that matters) - what injury he had - did it require surgery? - what is the typical time frame for return? - what are the chances of re-injury? - and maybe most importantly... if he were to get re-injured, how does that effect his future? If Rourke does get re-injured... the same injury... I don't think it necessarily reflects poorly on the Lions... but the medical staff should/will have some tough questions to answer
  11. I would've liked to have seen more/different DEs in the lineup to give the Jeffs some rest... Jeffcoat only needs a quarter to shake off the rust and Jefferson hasn't rested nearly as much this year.
  12. I actually don't have any issue with Sankey... I think he's a good player... I just don't like missing opportunities for a good joke
  13. so you didn't like winning the grey cup last year??
  14. But but but... Sankey has like 700 tackles... he's clearly the best defensive player!! 😖
  15. haha, yes.... just the difference between "years" and "seasons".... no matter what anyone says November 1990 to November 2019 is 29 years of time.
  16. it's in the details... 28 football seasons without winning a grey cup... 29 years between actual hoisting of the grey cup
  17. they kind of have to... if they get Rourke back next year (i.e. he doesn't have NFL looks) his salary is literally going to quintuple (5x, I had to look the word up to confirm)... and that throws off their salary structure of all the money they've spent on receiver and O-line... Rourke will have a lot of different pass catching options next year.
  18. I highly doubt that... he already has a lucrative career in the financial sector, in Winnipeg... that's where I imagine his future is after football... maybe a guest coach during camp but I doubt full time.
  19. Reading the o-line from left to right gives me warm feelings in my cockles... even my sub-cockles...
  20. good band... but pretty boring half time show... Sheepdogs are probably big name enough for it... plus I like the Bombers history of a local act doing the half time show
  21. Calgary may have been thin at QB that year but I don't think they ever started the TSN anchor at QB...
  22. But the point that was made - which I completely agree with - is if he happens to get hurt in this game.... chances are he would be likely to get hurt in the West Final anyways (of course there's no guarantee of that)... then his replacement will get the full complement of first team reps heading into the WF... I understand your point, but I don't think there's any harm to getting Ellingson out there for at least a quarter or two. I think Zach starts the game (like he did in the Calgary finale last year)... he'll play maybe a quarter... put in Dru next and depending on how that goes maybe we see Prukop near the end of the game... that's my guess
  23. other than how much he loves the sound of his own voice... he's actually not too bad anymore... now that he's not a paid Rider shill...
  24. how, exactly, does one tie in the playoffs?
