  1. The ol' catch and head for the turf on or about the 25 yd. line was quite evident again last night...Fogg is not a great returner but he does hold on to the ball...It sure would be nice to have our offence start on the 40 yd. line once in awhile instead of buried deep in our end,,,We need that in the playoffs or it'll cost us
  2. Unfortunately most people are not born star sales people...I happen to think a 'small' amount of credit is a good thing and it's a smart thing to establish for emergencies , but once out of control disaster awaits...I imagine a lot of people who are deep into credit are squirming a bit today after the Bank Of Canada announced the increase in interest rates yesterday....with a few more slated...……….......................................Anyhoo….like Do or Dies says....this ain't football
  3. Yeah....what was the moniker they used to hang on us when they stuck us into the other division....we were in the 'middle east' lol I don't like the idea of 'appearing' to creep into the post season by going through the east..Finish strong by beating a very beatable Cal. team at present and lock things up...It sure would be a confidence builder heading into the season finale and hopefully end in a Cup appearance
  4. Off topic is what happens when we go into football withdrawal when a bye occurs....But speaking on the off topic...I see a problem this generation and the one just after the boomers has, it's with credit...When I was in high school it was preached over and over again that if you don't have the cash...you don't buy it...Mind you saving was at least 'possible' in those days...I remember when I bought my first car with money I stuck away in a credit union account with my part time job...I know those days disappeared and credit became readily available....and along with that the interest rate bonanza...I hate credit but I have to admit I did have a mortgage and to buy a house...even in my day...you needed a bank mortgage....Now it's on cars right down to the fridge in your house...clothing and beyond...I wished the young people today would 'try' to save and not be so willing to flash the credit card..Maybe it's got to the point where it's impossible to save now..and if that's the case this society sure as hell as regressed since my day
  5. Yeah retire at 50 and livin the dream I seem to remember....Mind you it's a distant memory now but I guess it was better in our day (boomers) than the guys who are dreamin about it now...At least we had a shot
  6. Deadmonton is hooped IF we win the next game at home....They most likely won't show up for the last one UNLESS Maas wants to go out in a blaze of glory in a meaningless tilt...The way it sounds over there right now, is that he may have coached his last game at the igloo....so there's that
  7. As an eternal optimist myself...I'm saying we finish 11-7 and take 2nd. with the semi at IGF...How's that for optimism...…………………………..okay and a little wishin' as well
  8. One game and a fine to start....apparently the club is investigating and gathering further evidence...Stay tuned there maybe further action...………………….then again
  9. I agree totally with one condition that...(and I know the draft can be a crap shoot), we do a better job of measuring talent....The Ekakitie pic comes to mind and the passing on guys like Kwatu Boateng were a fail on our part...We've done relatively well with the O Line and receiver pics, but we need to up our game with regard to the D Line guys
  10. AND that's the gist of it isn't....If you hold pubic office or you have a profile that is considered larger than the average layman you are held and judged to a higher degree.. Hughes has profile in a community and is supposed to set an example...he failed...The law will consider this and in most cases will come down harder on a person like Hughes...These guys in riderville, who are trying to pass this off as a 'oh so what', are going to be in for a rude awakening...The courts AND the court of public opinion can and most likely will be harsher in Hughes case...The team will have no choice but to follow suit...Things to consider before you get behind the wheel of a car, and by your intoxication turn it into a weapon ...Giant fail by Hughes
  11. OH...I think the league cares big time.....this is not something you sweep under the carpet...Bad judgement from Hughes is going to cost him
  12. I'll go for the right word right off the bat....PHENOMINAL ….a huge talent for the O line...Don't know who he pushes out but with the talent and size this guy possesses we have to get him on board somehow...Couture may be the odd man out but that's not a certainty...Have to trust Walters has the plan man
  13. Yeah it was a great game....too bad you didn't show up...Smoke and mirrors ...smoke and mirrors just caught up with ya bud
  14. Rider smoke and mirrors all over the place at IGF today....Bombers unmasked that bunch of junk pretenders...Loved every minute of it
  15. We shut them out AND shut them up....The riders left here dragging their asses and it was a wonderful sight to see....Guess they thought we were going to forget that little performance by Jefferson the last time we played them....Mike O most likely had that front and centre and you could tell by our intensity to start the game...Laid a good arse whoopin on those yokels in every which way....Riders Cup dreamin just took a serious hit
  16. Smoke and Mirrors....smoke and mirrors I say...The smoke is emanating from the hot bull$hit some of their fans are spreading around in here....The mirrors are of the rear view kind... with the best showing the city of Regina plainly in it
  17. Next man up....Huff says 'hey no prob.',,,,Like an old comedian said back in the day....'Hey,,I've got a million of em'...…………………..Huffer is going to have to start digging deep however
  18. Dressler pulling up lame at practice today after getting into a tangle......yup the pieces are all starting to fall into place
  19. I'd like to hear....'serious talks for Greene OR Jackson about to be culminated'...BUT we've been so damn quiet lately and Walters seems to have disappeared ,that I also won't be that surprised that we pass on addition that'll help down the stretch
  20. Exactly what I was thinking.....(I hope Matt reads this)...The guy is a walking tower and just waiting for a pass attempt to come his way...We've already been burnt by this guy so Nichols should have a read on him by now...When players go to the well once too often, there's a good chance they'll get 'tricked burnt'... Let him over commit and blow by that sucker...I'd luv to be the one to do it but unfortunately my wheels don't turn no more....I'd love nothing more than to take one by 'too tall Jefferson' and when I got to their goal line ,do a shake and bake shuffle, then drop in for the six
  21. Watching that obvious bungled spot in front of O'Shea and the restraint he used has gathered a little more respect from me for him as a head coach...IF Mike was a player and the player that he used to be, I think that ref. would have been the next thing to being skinned alive....The old O'Shea was a storming monster for T.O. when he thought his team was...let's say 'put upon'...He was tossed on occasion, as I remember ,and picked up a few roughing calls in his day BUT not the O'Shea of today....I can't explain his demeanour and the change from player to the coach he is now, but last night it served him and the club well for his restraint on dealing with that very bad call...Especially at that point in the game when it could have proven to be very costly ...After saying all of that, I wish I could see the 'old' O'Shea ,at some point in time during the season, I wish he would show a little more emotion and strip the hide off of someone in situations like that...HOWEVER..throwing his hands up in disgust and walking away was the way to go, and probably for the best, as it ended well for us....disaster averted
  22. We're getting there....quite a turn around from the first game we played the two colours.....Matt looked to regain some of his confidence level and considering he was playing with a flu like symptom...gotta give him full credit....Bighill came up with the play of the game with that strip on Sinopoli and Dressler was buzzing all over the place and looked like the Dress of old...The offence is finally figuring it out and spreading the ball around to a lot of different receivers..great to see...Adams looked like his old self and I'm really starting to like this Wolitarsky kid in the clutch...The only real concern was the tendency for the D to fade in the late going...I don't know what it is but it seems like the defence has a timer on it and when the bell rings it's time to play silly buggers and go into a funk...That has to end and a full four quarters is going to be needed from here on in…. So bring on the green guys...I think we have a little score to settle and a good arse whoopin is in order
  23. You're right Mark about the 'not caring'....When we reach the point of apathy....which seems to be around the corner as a lot of good posters have left....then you know you're in deep doo doo
