4.96 time on the 40 yard dash … tell me no one’s ever taught you how to run it without telling me
Do remember #75, Ogbevoen, during the Sunday drills. They had him working middle LB. These two will get there shot on teams.
I spent time watching the O-Line guys and also in particular the talked about 3 D-Line guys.
Edmonton got a good one with their first pick.

Global draft came and went
We drafted LB Fabian Weitz (University of Buffalo / Cologne) who looks like he could be Thiadric’s younger brother and DB Lucky Ogbeveon (Tirol) who spent a bit of time in the NFL Pathway program
Both were here in Wpg @ the combine in Mar.

We for sure need a wr from the draft but it has no urgency of being an early pick. We need to get a rotational front 6 guy or two and the ol could just as well be a futures guy. That’s the one position we can draft a teams type guy at.
Agree, that was the major reason for my above suggestion for the D-Line pick @ 8. Okpoko can play inside or on the edge, the other two high end suggested prospects are edge/end type guys.

Very interested to see Bombers pick.
I think aside from Dumoulin-Duguay there's not a lot to pick between the OL who will be available through about Round 3. Nkanu is probably most pro ready but no upside at all. But there's a lot of guys who could be significant players on D and at receiver available.
Say with that 3Down mock exercise....if Brubacher is on the board for us in the first round I don't see them passing him over for a guy who probably isn't good enough to dress this year at OL. Could grab a similar level of OL prospect at end of Round 2.
Agree with your last comment, but if the D-Line prospect from Saskatoon is available at 8 I'd be picking him ahead of Brubacher (I hear all the upside stuff and getting him would be great as well, but how long is he here before he explores NFL). Rec & Ol at 17 and 20, either way should get us a couple value prospects.

Hey guys, I got bored and did a bunch of research to drop a four-round mock here. I did end up having the same first rounder for the Bombers as Hodge. I don't know **** about **** but I thought this was fun! Tell me where I went wrong and if you want explanations I will give them!

Hey, Bluedawg... nice mock. The two o-linemen from BC will get drafted and spend some time in the States, Theo probably longer than Gio in my opinion.

At least Hodge seems to put the work in, he seems to be on top of a lot of Bomber related news, I don't always agree with his takes, and this mock draft is an example but the negative view is out of line
Although when he collaborates with Abbot its not pretty
Totally agree with you Pete...
I limit my visits and comments on this site as there are a few in here who wish to control the board with their views, roll their eyes at others and feel their feedback only matters. What collection of individuals.

Sure, I’ll put together a mock when it makes sense. Since I know I’m who you’re asking about.
Remember the mock drafts I shot down last year? And how I told you it was a bad draft year? I do. But in case you don’t …
https://3downnation.com/2023/03/09/john-hodges-2023-cfl-mock-draft-1-0/
First overall pick went 16, nailed it. Our first pick at 8 went 20th, nailed it. 10 and 11 (as OL, nonetheless) went 48th and 57th and their situations didn’t change at all. I’m not criticizing his mock draft because he’s a bit off. I criticize it because it’s never even close, because he has no clue.
Again, your only looking at your point of view, which you should and can. But, from my point I look at the prospects listed, not where they will fall in draft order, but who they are and how they would be of value to the Bombers position wise, player wise or a "fit". As I mentioned yesterday, over the past years I do start looking at prospects in Nov including time leading up to the draft (who are they, what are their strengths or weakness, their numbers, etc).
There is no one, who is going to get it bang on, from #1 to #72 and I'm not looking for that either. As far as your comments which I read, I will pat you on the back, well done!!
As far as yesterday's mock, I don't agree with some of Hodge's suggestions for the Bombers and leave it at that. And if you ask the question, do I have a mock for the Bombers, I say, yes (starting with position need and then player choices for those needs). But very much different to what you saw yesterday on 3 Down.
In closing, I do see value in what Hodge's and others provide in their mocks, it means something to me. To you perhaps not so much, besides those that side with you. I also believe there are others, besides me who like these mocks. Maybe there is a split here, right down the middle.

Not sure I get the vitriol towards 3downnation and John Hodge. We all love the CFL. TSN and Sportsnet barely cover any off season news. Even in season, while broadcasting games, TSN is pretty light on content other than game summary articles. 3downnation has been around since 2015 and overall does a better job than anywhere else with CFL news. cfl.ca is good, and Ed Tait writes some really interesting content on bluebombers.com. But 3downnation is really my first stop to get any CFL content that I'm interested in - signings, draft profiles, USports stuff, CFL players in the NFL ... I like what they do. And I am in no way affiliated or compensated by the 3downnation corporation 😃
I like your comments and agree. Mocks are mocks and in my case I further use them to get myself familiar with the prospects who are available for the year. I do research the current crop of prospects starting in Nov of each year and use the mock(s) as a guide and look to see if I'm way out. In some cases don't agree with the positions/players the Bombers would select as proposed, but still do find/use it as a tool for my purposes. I enjoyed reading/looking at these mocks. Good on the guys who do them!!!!
But, there are a few of the self pro-claimed experts in here and a few others that will band together if self pro-claimed experts are challenged in here. They love to shoot this/these mock(s) down as was the case last year as well. I actually would like to see their mock draft(s) as I asked one of them to provide.

well we have Karmoko...and Mauro could be back....they both be more usefull as globals than a average to less than average punter who I feel was a huge reason for our punt coverage to suck arse all yr...not a few games but all damn yr...it wasn't that all our cover guys just sucked all at once and were on a steep decline..there also some good global prospects this yr as well....Allow Castillo if we sign him to do all 3 jobs and gives us that extra body to actually have a use
Also last years draft pic Max Charbonneau who was at camp, went back to U of Ottawa attained OUA first team linebacker all star status, as well as second team special teams would/should be a teams prospect. Secondly, Jared Beeksma linebacker, 2022 5th round pick by Hamilton, has a special teams background (snapper) has been in the Bomber camp since last summer. The Bombers have in house talent available, I believe.

The 48 hour window is here (Bomber player/Walters conversation), those who want to re-sign should be done anything time (Gray), those that don't will be free on Feb 13th at 11am our time...

Some decent DL available in Global Draft, mostly nose types. Hope we take advantage.
If we can grab a guy that can play like 20-25 snaps that would be huge.
Canadian Draft a bit sparse this year when you see the guys coming to combine. Everyone else after NFL tryouts. Not many guys in there that will play right away.
Edge guys in Okpoko, Hergott & Brubacher could draw some interest.

What is incorrect? Terry Williams just signed a contract extension this offseason to remain a BC Lion, so it's very unlikely that Grant will be targeted.
You just read into it what you wanted.

When that FG in the GC was blocked, I jumped up screaming! "I knew that SOB would miss!! I knew it!!" Even though it was blocked I had zero confidence he would make it. I just knew that there was a good chance Liegghio would miss. Sure it was blocked but Dunigan was saying in their regular season kickoff show that he shanked it anyway had it not been blocked. Meanwhile, Casdtillo was virtually money all season. I have no idea why we don't lock him up on a 2 or 3 year deal.
It's great that Liegghio had a fine year in Hamilton but there's still a part of me who would never trust him when the chips are down. I'm glad he's gone.
Careful what you wish for, I don't know if there is that perfect/non miss kicker.... If you watched football last week, you would have heard the phrase "wide right" which involved a kicker.
Now a few years ago, after Medlock retired/left us and we were searching for a kicker near completion of the 2019 season as the kicking game needed to improve. There was an out cry by a some on here to get Cdn status Lirim Hajirullaha back after he had been dumped by the Bombers a few years prior. Enter Castillo to the rescue and win us a cup.
Now, fast forward a few years, a repeat again (as above), this time it was Leggs is a problem, as Castillo wanted bigger money elsewhere.
I'm not saying Leggs didn't have issues, but I can see another season(s) of discussion about a need for a kicker, after Castillo looks for bigger $$$ or the spring league. I do hope we sign Castillo as you mention.
But in the real world of sports, kickers do miss at the worst of times, included those that have kicked for the Bombers (past & present), including Money Medlock or Leggs.
