  1. Yah, I hate it when they completely abandon the run especially in a close game, reminds me of 2013. If they can't gain up the middle than take it outside but keep running! Seemed to me there were a couple of dropped balls tonight but they didn't show the replay so it was hard to tell who was at fault. On a positive note Grigsby looked effective catching passes.
  2. They brought the heat my friend but the Bombers were in their TE formation and picked up every last one the b*ggers.
  3. Thank God. I missed the entire first quarter messing around with live feeds. Eventually found a good one but it is a real p.i.a. to do this for every game. Seriously thinking about subscribing to cable just to be able to watch all CFL games with less hassle. Appreciate your efforts!
  4. I still blame Buck. "The world was his oyster" and he did nothing to win that game. That's when it first dawned on me that he didn't have the mental abilities to be a winning QB. Did he do nothing to win or did the offense play so passively because of the coaching? Seems to me that once the game started to get out of reach the offense opened up a bit and made some plays. That year though seemed that Lapo was quite happy to play stupidly conservative and hope that the defense would make enough big plays to win. Buck did very close to nothing in that game but LaPo. deserves some of that blame to be sure. Bombers first TD occurred wth 4 minutes left in the game, if it wasn't for garbage time points the final score would have been 34-9. In retrospect Buck's futility in that game looks very similar to the futility he brought to the field in 2012 and 2013. The writing was on the wall. For those who like to burn their flesh with cigarettes.....enjoy.
  5. Shocker. @BobIrvingCJOBALS expected to announce contract extension for Jim popp.

  7. Oh, *this* comment. Our third string running back is averaging over 100+ yards from scrimmage a game and just had 3 majors, the guy we're talking about doesn't play special teams and ... you think it's a bad decision? Scenario: O'Shea: So Gerome, you're a big strong guy and I understand you'd like to contribute to our specials teams? Messam: That's right Mr. O'Shea, that's right.. O'Shea: That worked out well.
  8. Simply put, Messam is National depth and offers "another" solution to ratio issues the team is currently facing. The Bombers seem to ignore available high caliber National talent when it comes available and than struggle with the ratio when a starter goes down. It has nothing to do with "who is the best RB". If they build up a stock pile of good nationals it would increase their possible solutions now and more so in the future. This is what Calgary and Sask. have done to build successful teams and it seems to work. There are only a handful of good National RB's in the league and like him or not Messam is one of them.
  9. Try to think of it this way. Only one or two CFL teams have backup QB's that are competent enough to lead their teams to victory. If starting QB's end up on the injury list the games become far less entertaining, casual fan interest for that team wans when they tail-spin and ticket sales drop. If protecting QB's is not a priority for the league perhaps they should think of it more in terms of lost revenue. Any mention of how much Willis was fined?
  10. Apparently Calgary was also trying to get him. Two of the best teams in the league see his value but not the Bombers.
  11. It kind of reminds me of those long drive competitions in golf. Good skill to have but only one of many needed, you never see top name PGA players qualifying for those competitions.
  12. Never heard the story, do you have details for us?
  13. It's a sad state of affairs but truthfully I can't believe any action will be taken for a long time to reduce brain concussions in pro sports. The NFL along with the broadcast networks would present such a strong political lobby that they could easily prevent any motion they did not like from succeeding for the next 300 years. Change would most likely have to occur in the NFL before any steps were taken in the CFL anyways. After all in our enlightened age MMA is alive and prospering, were you can watch a person with no defences get punched in the head repeatedly until he's knocked unconcious. It almost makes me nostalgic for wrestling were as a kid I got to witness Mad Dog Vachon bite off another guys ear. Yay Mad Dog!
  14. Never saw him play. Doesn't seem like he got a fair chance.
  15. i still think the biggest danger to Willy comes from the blitz when the O-Line is outnumbered.so adding another Int. to the ratio is not going to solve that problem. Witnessed many times last year when a DB or LB ran outside of January untouched to get a clear shot on Max Hall. Not January's fault because at the time he was fully occupied with a D-Lineman and Will Ford was usually wandering around somewhere up field "workin' on his juke".
  16. I agree. There was no reason for Willis to smoke Collaros like that. With good QB's at a premium in this league that kind of bullshit just can't be tolerated. Look at the other extreme - Vega could have KO'd Burris the same way with the free shot he had but instead he held up to avoid a fine/penalty and ended up with Burris tossing it into the stands. I think that in the future, where the QB is in the grasp, the play should be dead immediately. Burris got away with two of those last week where our guys tried to stay in the bounds of legality and lost two sacks because of it. Good on our guys for keeping a quality QB alive, but on the other hand, they deserved those sacks because of it. I'm in total agreement. If the last 10 years of Bomber incompetence has proven anything it's that a good QB is a very valuable asset worthy of protection. Bomber fans would be out of their minds with rage if Willis took out Willy in this fashion. In the era of concussion awareness that we're entering I can see the day when it will be illegal for a defender to launch himself into another player. Football will change because the courts will force it to and tackling may need to revert to it's roots in rugby. It is only the protection of the helmet and shoulder pads that gives the tackler the false confidence that they will not be injured in a collision of that scale. I believe there is a growing body of research in hockey that shows that the development of protective equipment and body armor has crossed the line from defencive protection to offencive weaponry.
  17. The not-good thing about Grigsby on that play was that it sure looked like Grigsby didn't even try, and that could have put Willy right out of the game. Grigsby gave the rusher a complete free shot- hope it doesn't happen too often. If you watch that play again it looks like Grigsby is focused on the inside rusher which was probably his designated block. It was a matter of choosing between two pass rushers and unfortunately Grigsby chose the wrong one.
  18. There are only about two teams in the entire league that couldn't make use of Peach at this point. It's got to be some bad voodoo that's keeping them from raiding Huff's cookie jar.
  19. Thanks for your efforts. I really appreciate these simple solutions!
  20. I agree Woods is doing his job well. It does seem to me that he has lost a step from last year though, it looks like he put on about 20 lbs of muscle in the off-season and that may have detracted from his speed.
  21. Good to see Sherman succeed but do you think he will develop into a starter? I see him more as a role player like Pontbriand, a great fill in that plays with enthusiasm and gusto and is a superstar on special teams.
  22. Just a few more stupid question so that I understand this process better. I downloaded the file with the free version of utorrent and it took 8 hours to do so. I can now play the file with the utorrent player and I see that the playback can be paused but not reversed to allow for the review of a play to take a second look. No time bar either, what gives? Also can not locate the downloaded file on my PC. Is this because the file is not actually stored on my PC? Wonders never cease! ....and there it is all 5 mb's of it. Thanks!
